I bet you %*!!*! thinking that I living it up
'Til you see polices laughing as they picking me up
Went from seeing how many $$+!$++ I can fit in the truck
To 3 hots and a cot is you kidding or what
%!@* how many millions I got
$*@$@ so what if I'm hot
when I got prices on my head feds rushing my spot
a million haters want me dead force to carry a gat
But you a seven time felon what you doing with that?
It's a catch 22 either you lose or lose
That's the way the game structured for real %*!!*! to suffer
And I ain't never been a busta alway stood on my feet
Like a man prepared to take what ever coming for me
A $!%!! $*@$@ or polices with a warrant for me
I'm a "G" prepared to die for what's important to me
Look anybody in the eye who say they want it with me
Put up the house and bet the odds if coming from me
OG's say I need to learn and be patient
You telling me with these seven years of probation
Pistol charges and a host of other open cases
If %*!!*! only knew the kind of time I was facing (o and that punk +$*% wasnt funny)
laugh.gif

I tried to keep to myself but sometime I can't take it
Got 4 kids with smiles on they faces
Mean more to me than my crown and my bracelet
Take that away from me and my life is butt naked

One of the realest songs ever put on wax, for those who say this man has no substance in his raps, SMH.

Give me some lines or verses that hit you on a whole other level.................

Everytime I play that track for somebody they want me to run it back. One of my fav Tip tracks..

So you wanna see the world thru my eyes for a minute
First, bend ya fitted to the left just a smidget
Next, know that the sky's the limit there's no ceilin
Show em' ya vision, drill it in they head til' they listen
Kill em' dead, get the bread a hunnad million is ya mission
Give the'se N's the business, F*** asking for permission
Another thang, this World we live in's cold wit no feeling
N's starvin and they all Robbin, no Givens
Anyway, anyday you in da A wit the top down
Pull up in da trap standin tall, beatin the block down
Cop a quarter pound of the best Dro in town
Then mash on da gas fast, let em see it lock down
Tired yellin fish tellin(???) knot the parkin lot down Martin Luther
Useta sell crack so ya hot now
But notice as you rollin all the haters cause they watchin you
But pay em' little mind, soon they'll find it aint no stoppin you
But til then, ya bend or fold for no N'
Tote 4-4's to dispose of ho N's
Roll wit Gorillas, former dope dealers
Face the task of turnin them to ligitimate go-getters
Show N's, only those that's focused can go wit us
No fakes, crabs, snakes, and coke sniffers
And if it's some mo N's lookin up to me..
Tell em' F*** them B's, N' get that money!

Where you at Cage? I need you to post my opinion for me and spice it up with some smoking hats. I'll be back to say, "Yeah, what Cagesaid!" after I finish this blunt.

T.I. fans, please explain to me what it is you find interesting about this cookie cutter rapper ? The lyrics you posted aren't even great.

That said, I hope that the change that he has been making (from what I see on t.v.) is authentic. It is obvious that while I find his music to be lackluster(although some of his beats are smiley face with a hat smoking a cigarette) he does have your ear and thus could serve the community much better as an example.

Couldn't have said it better.

My favorite verse from any rapper ever:

Never listen to 'em when they tell you, "You can't."
Gotta show 'em you can do it - nevermind what they think.
If you want it, go and get it - just persue it - 'cause it ain't
Nothin' impossible. Hustle's all ya gotta do.
Make some sacrifices, overcome a couple obstacles -
Watchu gon do? I'd be gettin' right if I was you.
Stand up on your own two - the same ones mockin' you,
Once you show and prove they'll be the same one followin' you.
Quit makin' excuses. The truth is ain't nothin' stoppin' you but hesitatin' -
Listen to them Ns and you'll never make it.
Wait a couple years and you'll see how much they elevated.
Grind hard - flash past everyone who ever hated, smiled while you was down,
And frowned when you celebrated.
Now you makin' paper delegatin' and they hella late
And all I can say is:
If you wanna be a leader - ignore the disbelievers - they ain't listen to Jesus.

Cardo that "Get Up" verse you posted is in my top 10 from Tip.

For Rilla,

Well 1st of all, I want to thank you for posting a reply.

2nd, Allow me to share a verse with yall that I find touching, as is in step with this post:

Uhh uhh uhh, feel me now, listen
Momma loved me, pop left me
Mickey fed me, and he dressed me
Eric fought me, made me tougher
Love you for that my ##!%* no matter what brah
Marcy raised me; and whether right or wrong
Streets gave me all I write in the song
Hootie babysitted, changed my diapers
Gil introduced me to the game that changed my life up
East Trenton grew me, had me skippin school
Valencia's boyfriend Vovo had me makin moves
Momma raised me, pop I miss you
God help me forgive him I got some issues
Mickey cleaned my ears, and he shampooed my hair
Eric was fly - @%$#, I used to steal his gear
I was the baby boy, I could do no wrong
Yeah it's goin past fast - let's move along
Kitchen table - that's where I honed my skills
Jaz made me believe the @%$# was real
Labels turned me down, couldn't foresee
Clark sought me out, Dame believed
Primo laced me, Ski did too
"Reasonable Doubt" - classic, shoulda went triple
Momma loved me, pop left me
Grandma dressed me, plus she fed me
banana puddin, what's in the hood then
Puffin on L's, drinkin pink champelle
Ty rolled with a ##!%*, V.A. spot
Tone, Mike 'Zo and them $!*#%$, V.A.'s locked
Vigs @#@@#$ with a ##!%*, whassup ha?
(?) high hated the fact I put rap to the back
Money pourin in, clientele growin now
Birth of my first nephew, time to slow it down
October 21st, Lavelle came to the world
Followed by three more boys and then a baby girl
Momma loved me, T.T. Uncle Jay
loves you to death won't let no trouble come your way
Oh, can't forget my man down in Maryland
He's gone 'til November, how can I not remember?
Tell your moms I'm there for her and Tiembra
And your son too - there's nothin I won't do
Unless you was me, how could you judge me?
I was brought up in pain, y'all can't touch me
Police pursued me, chased cuffed and subdued me
Talked to me rudely; cause I'm young rich and I'm black
and live in a movie, not livin by rules
New rap patrollin the city, follow my crews
Bleek you're still with me - ##!%* what did I say?
The time is comin; you one hit away
Beans I ain't tryin to change you - just give you some game
to make the transition, from the street to the fame
My momma loves me..Uhh uhh uhh, feel me now, listen
Momma loved me, pop left me
Mickey fed me, and he dressed me

Ok, we all know Hov goes in.... whats you debate? That verse doesnt prove T.I.P. cant rap?

All these months (years...?), and I've been wondering what the hell name Cage was hiding behind...

laugh.gif

How did I not know that...
smh.gif

Debate ? hmm..It's not my point to post that hova verse to prove that T.I. can't rap, because that is subjective. It was my intent to stay in step withthe original topic and share a verse that means alot to me.

With that said, Allow me to delve deeper into why I didn't find the track that was posted as part of the topic that grand .I don't think it was bad,but I did find it a viable example of his work.

I am a member of many communities, and hip-hop is one of them. People matter to me, and T.I. matters to you, so he matters to me. There are many reasons whyone appreciates an artist or a work of art. We really don't need a reason, but I am interested what is on people's minds and why the come to theirconclusions/choices.

One of the other posters shared a verse from T.I. that I found very inspiring. However, I find that on average, his verses are not innovative in eithercontent, delivery, or perPsective. They are reitterations of a story that has been told for almost as long as hip-hop has been around by other emcees, and, himself.

I'm glad that T.I. is choosing to do something constructive with his life such as making music that can touch and inspire you , that is why I want tounderstand why you think that verse is so great. What is the connection to you ? What is it about him that you find so compelling ? Please share.
