Epic Fail ! ~ The Air Jordan 2009 about to set record low sales

Nah...JB failed with this release because they're arrogant. The XX3's were splendid shoes in all aspects. The Jordan 2009's are just dull and uninspired pieces of recycled garbage from other shoes from the past. Nothing original at all...and at $190 they can keep their product.

X2...and I'm happy that for the first time, it seems people aren't buying into the "air jordan" hype machine anymore. You can make amillion commercials with Chris Paul, Melo, Joe Johnson, even throw in Jordan himself, but no one's paying $190 for something And1 would be embarassed toput out...

These are the worst Air Jordans of the 24 released, and it embodies everything about JB today:

Overpriced - $190?

Gimmicky - High Heels on basketball shoes?

Uninspired - It Looks like a Li-Ning version of a XIV

Cheap - It Feels like a Li-Ning version of a XIV

Don't blame the economy, I hope ppl at JB are reading this and either making changes or getting their resumes ready...

btw, didn't this same designer draw those AWFUL Chris Paul shoes for this year too?

well its about time, jordan brand reaps what it sows. I doubt obama's stimulus plan could even help these pathetic shoes out.

The Air Jordan 2009 appears to have the worst sales numbers in the last 5 years for a launch of their signature shoe.

It is obviously hoped that sales numbers will pick up as future colorways release...

But it is clear that when you release a Product that looks to the untrained eye, to be a Reebok product worth HALF the price. Jordan fans will not swallow the 190 price tag !

( Hell, in the 5 years I have been here, I don't recall a Air Jordan launch without a sticky )

Now, what Brand Jordan needs to admit. Is that due to poor quality products ( CDP packs ! )
and lack of inspiration behind final designs. That the consumer will not eat whatever they "poop" out.

I bet the easy way out that will be taken " it's the economy " - yes it's true, the economy has played a role. Butttttt ! take ownership JB in what lack lustre product you have released.

Ahhh. Hope lies ahead ~ Air Jordan 25th anniversary !

unfortunately they still know that the fusion lines still sell

Thanks BabyJ.

We can only hope they learn from their mistakes. Its been a long period of disappointment. As much as i love what the brand has done in the past, its good tosee them fail a bit, in hopes that change will come from it.

GimmickY? nah, the heels are apparently for better use on the court, and from what Ive heard about the feel of them, including my own opinion, they are realgood and not cheap. that being said, they arent hot, better cws might help, and theyre def overpriced

my mind is boggled as to why the retail is so high, even higher than the XX3's. it would have been a good idea and good PR to slap a $100 price tag onthese due to the recession.

my store only got 10 pairs. We sold 2.
ohwell.gif
overall reaction seems to be people are waiting for the ones in april to drop.

Maybe they shouldn't have had the incredibly superior-looking white/black/red Six Rings come out the same day.

While I won't defend the 2009 (I do like the shoe, but all GR colorways I have seen are HORRIBLE)...

Let's not get things twisted...

AJ 2009 isn't going to be a great seller...but, how did everything else with a Jumpman released this weekend sell?

Yeah...

JM

Every store i went there they had many sizes avaliable , i think they will go on sale pretty soon, so ppl could buy them. But overall the shoes is okay

I really hope this is JB's wake up call. I knew the shoe wasn't going to sell, but DAMN, worse release in 5 years is crazy
smh.gif
. When they drop the pricedown to where the shoe should be at ($120-140), I think then they will start to sell to the consumer. I wonder how the Portland 6 Rings did

?

maybe this will force them to drop some unexpected heat this year.........but then again we are talking about jordan brand.

well i know a lot of ppl were coppin the max orange. everywhere i went that they actually got them were sold out

I was disappointed with this c/w in person. I liked my black/gold enough to keep. The shoe itself is comfortable, and the quality on my black pair is topnotch. I still think they need a better c/w for this shoe to sell, and a price drop wouldn't hurt either. Aesthetically, I like these better than a few sigshoes. I would really like to get another pair, but only if they can do a better c/w. Had the black gold been a lower price point and/or a GR, the numberswould have been better.

Just how bad did the AJ XIX do cause it looks nice when you wear them with skinny jeans from what I've seen. Though WHO EXPECTED TEH 09s TO SELL?

Its almost over for jb, they jerked us long enough, I hope all these limited packs coming out this year sit on the shelves also. Cause at the end of the day jbis all hype no quality
