Jobless and Frustrated NTers check in VOL. WE NOT-WORKIN!!!

@AdobeCS4 I don't know if you have checked out various nonprofits in your area. I am not sure what your school schedule looks like, but sometimes the nonprofit sector can be flexible. I know while in under grad I stacked my course between 10-3 which allowed me to work my office job 8:30-9:30 and then from 3-6 with Friday from 1-6. And of course there's always your university .... Outside of work study there are plenty of jobs AND you'll get tuition cuts.

High probability you're gonna be chilling hard so good luck with that lol just don't chill too hard.

Also make sure you sleep. It's real easy to miss sleep because it's sun out when you get off and everyone's up and about. Set a sleep schedule.
Yea I was told it was pretty laid back and easy..hardest part is staying up!

Make sure you thank them for making time to interview you. address the position you are applying for and reinforce why you are a good fit. try to clear up anything that might've been iffy durring the interview, such as questions that may have tripped you up or responses that weren't as clear and concise as you wanted them to be.

good luck

Am I the only one tired of these fake *** five star Glassdoor and Indeed reviews?

Pros: I love everything about the job! The management is kind and the people are loving and caring! I couldn't be happier! If you aren't one of those people who just want to come and collect a paycheck, you'll be rewarded here!

Cons: The company is going through unprecedented financial growth and many wonderful changes, so sometimes it's hard to keep up!!

***** get me legit mad

Man I've gotten pretty good and spotting the fake reviews and the legit reviews. Regardless I try not to read them too much outside of the interview questions and salary input.

Just got a job offer today with Gannett as an inside sales rep selling job ads on careerbuilder and local newspapers

. Decent pay but also interviewing with Progressive to work as a claims adjuster. Keep grinding bros been unemployed for like two months now

Damn bros, I never thought I would end up back in this thread after so long. I still remember posting in the early stages of this thread's inception.

It still has not hit me that I got fired last week. After 2 years and 2 months working for Whole Foods, gone with a blink of an eye. It was going so good at first, won employee of the month twice for my department and once for the whole store. This is incredibly hard to do as a part time employee. Thanks to those achievements, I was able to get the buyer/supervisor position thanks to the encouragement of store management. That means after busting my butt working part time for a year, I was finally going to be a full time employee.

It all started going downhill once they hired new management from outside the company. Whole Foods likes promoting from within so this came as a surprise to everyone. She came in last November and at the time I was on a medical leave. She implemented a whole new system while I was gone that I never agreed upon. She kept throwing a whole bunch of tasks on me on top of what I already had to do.

This lady never liked me from the beggining, I had not gotten into no problems with the company. Then in February she started writing me up for stupidity. She would barely talk to me and would avoid all types of eye contact with me. This was crucial to the success/downfall of the department because a manager is suppose to use their buyer to get the best out of sales. She also has favoritism with the brown noser of the department, a baker named Angel.

I should have listened to my parents who told me to leave that store and transfer to the new one that just opened in downtown. Now I'm here jobless paying the price for that lady's stupidity. Not sure what my next move will be, don't know if I want to work at a grocery store again either. I really liked the fact I had a fixed schedule when I was there. It was 6am-2:30pm with Sunday's off. Perfect time for me cause I had the afternoon to do what I wanted.

This is the first time I ever got fired from a job so I don't really know how the process works. I was fired last Wednesday and I took the week off to refresh my mind. But deep down I'm kind of depressed and my coping mechanism has been food. I've been eating more than I'm used to and I can feel myself gaining weight. I'm going crazy just staying home almost all day.

Do you have anything documented? Call corporate and explain the situation if you really wanted to move up in that job. Did they have documents that you had to sign implementing the new policies? If so, did you sign them when you came back?

I hate people on a power trip :smh:

Phone interview with Verizon tomorrow for a full time position. Hoping things go well as I'm desperate to get out of this part time gig I'm currently at.

If the interviewer said they will contact you the following week and it's already been six days without a call. Should I call tom. Or wait for the call? I sent a thank you card and letter the day after the interview. I'm a bit nervous about getting the position. I got to stay positive I guess

shoot them an email about the status of the position. sometimes they're busy and miss deadlines they give you. if they don't respond to your email, then you should probably forget about them.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will write the email tom.and allow a full week to pass. I don't want her to think I wasn't listening. Much appreciated. Stay positive everyone!

Does any one have any thank you email templates I can use? I just want to be prepared to send them after an interview.

Apply for unemployment to hold you off until you find a new job. Apply like crazy. If your asked about it, just tell them the truth. That they hired new management and they wanted to go in a different direction.

I have several. I keep a word document of these things so you dont ever have to spend time writing them, especially in a situation where you have to write multiple.
