Ouch. How did he shatter it? And if he shattered it why does it look like that. That is terrible.

Had that happen to me jr year.. worst pain I have ever felt

I hope he recovers in a timely manner. I also hope that he has insurance.
 
I hope everything works out for the guy, I doubt he deserved something like that.

But I have a felling that you're the one that's gonna get warned...

There's an array of things that could happen to the ankle when its shattered.

The impact of the leg bone could physically be so strong that it shatters the ankle into pieces. (in my case - went up for an alley, got fouled, came down

His looks like he went up and came down on the side of his foot and twisted it causing the ankle to be sort of dislodged (force upon impact from the leg bone +twist)

Word. Being airlifted must be expensive. Hoepfully he doesn't have to foot the bill.

i see what you did there.

but on topic, i would like to know the heck this happened exactly as well. thats extreme for a football injury. looks like someone took a shotgun to his ankle.
 
how is that even fixable lol?

when i was a kid, when i heard of people breaking their arms and legs, this is what I thought.. not the little fractures id learn about a few years later.

Internal fixes with screws and metal plates. Putting the pieces back together .
