100 quid was real money back then, but so was 69.99GBP for the OG's
Mine are inside 2 big ziplock bags with silica packets, inside their box inside, inside another big box inside my closet. Yeah pretty hardcore, careful with doing this though it may dry them out so when you do try to wear them they may crack easier, but right now they are in perfect shape.Originally Posted by steeda972003

You don't. Some do some don't. I just talked to a guy whos pair looked perfect and he wore them and they completely fell apart. I haveseen others who are still in great shape after being worn. Each pair is different.Originally Posted by kmn2008

Damn! 70 for the OGs! lol, nah I can't remember that far back, I'm only a young'n!...my first Jordans were the VIs.
lol, I know, but when the OGs dropped in 1989 I was only 12, so even at a measly £69.99 ...it would still have been like a years pocket money tome!Originally Posted by Fang Bian Mian

Still would have had a stronger return purchasing shares of NKE.Originally Posted by Beelzebub23
That's the best thing about collecting shoes (I'm not a collector). Almost anything else that you would collect (outside of sneakers) would take 10 years just to DOUBLE in value. But these Jordans, on the other hand JUST made 10, and they have already QUADRUPLED in value. I guess this is why every day you got someone waking up deciding to become a "sneaker collector".
if they look perfect the only thing now to worry about is the firmness of the midsoles. if they are spongy in feel then that means they stillhave moisture and won't crack. if they feel weak and have small cracks then they will fall apart.....Originally Posted by topshelfkicks

As far as keeping them from yellowing zip-locks, i.e no light, and controlled humidity, with silica be careful of over drying.
