most ebay sellers dont even do their taxes or report their sales. If they had to do that along with ebay and paypal fees, thats just not going to work well formost sellers out there.

the tax free thing was the main reason why i always loved to buy things online. it was always cheaper for me to buy kicks online off ebay than going to the mall.

watch and see ... anything the states do to raise taxes "within reason" will most certainly be approved by this administration ... it has to be approved ... because the government has to find ways to pay for its spending without seeming like its doing so ...

If they owe the federal government money, then yes they would have an "obligation", but you're talking like the Federal government profits offstate sales tax - and that's a lie. Check out a state budget and tell me where it shows tax revenue going to the federal government - it doesn't. State money is state money, they are separate entities.

correct me if im wrong but i believe the federal government only receives funding based on personal income taxes and corporate/federal taxes andthe selling of certain financial instruments like bonds, t-bills etc.

so hold up let me get this straight ... youre saying because the state isnt specifically stating that "THIS TAX MONEY WILL GO TOWARD PAYING BACK THEFEDERAL GOVERNMENT" then theres no way it does? .... ... ... .... i know youre close minded but please dont tell me you believe that ...
so the state makes revenue whichever way it can and puts it in a pot, and at the end of the day it has to pay the federal government back from that pot ...part of that pot consists of this eventual tax money and therefore it contributes to paying the federal government back ...
i never said this is the only thing that will pay back the fed govt, but as i did say, each state will be looking to incease revenue anyway it can in order topay back the increase of funds that will be taken from them by the fed govt ...
the government isnt profiting off this tax increase directly, but rather indirectly ... learn to look one step further and not analyze everything for facevalue
