Dwight cant do that. Shaq can't do that. So does that mean they shouldn't have been #1 picks?
Your making my point.
The problem with your argument is that you need a guy like a Blake Griffin who will keep you in the game to even have those scenarios which youspeak of.

He has a high work ethic supposedly. If he puts in time to develop his jumper I don't see how he doesn't develop to a solid PF. Someone like EltonBrand at least. Or as high as someone which some compare him to and that is Karl Malone who didn't have much of a jumper in College as well. I'mskeptical of him myself, but I definitely see the potential and why people rave about him. He's a legit 6'9 PF who is quick, has big hands, has goodhands, has plenty of hops, seems pretty strong, and doesn't mind contact as we can see how he took bumps and still dunked on people. He might never becomethe clutch player where you give him the ball and ask him to win you the game. But 20 and 10 shouldn't be out of the question.

I have a concern about the Clippers taking Griffin and being disappointed because he's prone to concussions.

griffin= beasley 2.0...great role player, complimentary to a star but will not be a franchise player...

You know he'll stick around because of his rebounding toughness, but I have doubts about him being able to score.

He won't be THAT much bigger and THAT much stronger than almost everyone in the NBA like he was in college.

If dude develops a consistent fifteen-foot jumper, he could be scary good.

Prime is a friend of mine, I been arguin with him over this for days tryin to get thru to him, but it ain't workin so we resorted to NT. I'm seekin anintervention for dude, he's like my brother, but it's just not workin right now.

Here is basically his point. He firmly believes that there is a guy in this draft that will go on and have a better NBA career then Blake. Sort of like aTony Parker who is drafted at 26, but could be a hall of famer.

He believes that Blake is along the lines of a solid 15 - 8 guy, not a TRUE #1 pick in the draft type. (LeBron, D12, Duncan, etc etc)

That's what he means. He also believes that since it is the Clippers, the kid is doomed from jump, a lot like how the Blazers destroyed Oden's hopefor being a good player.

Prime is good people, he's just mixed up with this draft is all. He points to the NUMEROUS college players who have dominated basketball, and then gone tothe NBA and became nobodies. He sees Blake as one of those type guys. Tyler Hansborough (sp) is another example of this. Laettner, Harold Miner, guys likethat.

Is that what he was trying to say? LOL. I will say this though, nothing in the NBA is a guarantee and what we see with Blake is a whole lot ofupside as he shown dramatic improvement from year to year. You have to take him at No.1 because he is the best player we see now. We can't see into thefuture. I'm sure if everyone knew TP would turn out this way he would of went way higher. The lottery is a gamble, but you have to make it a calculatedone.

Worst. Post. Ever.

Please watch more college ball before you make this kind of assertion. Will there be a great player later on in the draft? Possibly. Probably. But Blake'sa pretty damn sure thing and when you have the #1 pick, you're taking the sure thing instead of gambling for a hit or miss.

I will refrain from even getting into this discussion with a dude that admits he doesn't follow college basketball that closely... Essentially sayinghe's got no idea who or what to compare Blake Griffin to...

What?

He had one concussion at Oklahoma...

Griffin is going to be a great PF, man is a freak of nature and his skill set is that damn good.

Dude's game reminds me of Karl Malone.

terrible comparison. Griffin plays with intesity and a sense of urgency. A link Beasley is missing to become a franchise player.

Griffin's game is nothing like Beasley.
There's way too much to quote. This thread is a complete fail.

Born in Brooklyn (74-84), Lewisburg, Pa (83-84), Santa Monica, Ca (84-95). Yankees 79-95 zero WS wins. Steelers 80-05 zero SB wins. Lakers, ifyou moved anywhere near Los Angeles in the year 1984 you would be a Lakers fan now too!!! Didn't even know what Basketball was until 1984. All I caredabout from 1980 to 83 was Brian Trottier, the Islanders and hockey.

After all that military style training in the off season, the man hurts his knee cap landing on the court. Add another member to the Clipper Draft PickHall of Fame!!! The Clippers will always be "the Clippers of the NBA".

thats really nice of you to stand up for him, but my lord, this thread is awful. i feel like you should try to draft the guy with the best chanceto have a high-level nba career. that might not be the home run guy, but someone who will either help turn your franchise around or move your team in the rightdirection. honestly, who do you think they should have gotten?

If not, then who?

I like the kid, but I'm not in love with his game.

No thread hijack, but I think in a few years Brandon Jennings is going to be a star
