I know nothing about Graphic Design, but seeing as I want to do switch my program next semester, I started researching and trying to learn basic things. Thisis a background I made with a the help of a fellow NTers tutorial. real basic. Anyone have good design websites with tutorials and stuff to read up on?

i might be interested in industrial design. im a junior in high school right now.
what are some good schools to consider and what actions should I take that could help me in the future if I decide to down that path?

really the schools you probably want to look at are art center in cali, ccs in detroit, u of cincinnatti in ohio, pratt in nyc, and rsid in rhode island...these days if you put the work in it doesn't really matter where you go to school i think it is easier to get noticed by those who need to know because of that, but the advantage of going to one of those schools is that 1) their ultra competitive programs [which will hopefully cause you to work that much harder] and 2) most major agencies/corporations/firms actively recruit/scout those schools or have great co-op programs that give students the advantage of already having experience (usually a few internships) BEFORE graduation

as far as what you should take in preparation...not really sure but i will say just draw, ALOT. not only what you see but things from your imagination and more importantly build a love of drawing out your ideas & solving problems; it definitely helps for any design discipline...

I made this for a typography class...it's Tinker Hatfield with all words corresponding to Nike

I'm no Graphic Designer but I dabble now and then. Good for side money here and there.

As far as a career dont even waste your time...so much is being outsourced for dirt cheap. My company just fired 3 gfx designers last week. I mean programs now a days are becoming so much easier to use. Granted you have to have an eye for design but still not worth it.
