Replica wheels are cheap for a reason. They're cast not forged and usually pretty crappy. Quality costs but it also saves lives.
I curbed those and they didnt bend or anything but i know exactly what you mean. I have seen some nasty pics.
looks clean imo

an if you did have the caps i bet monday wouldnt even question it if he seen that car in person on a normal NYC day

he woulda just been concerned if ya had a drop or not. lol
Yeah I wouldnt front like that.

Oh I was dropped lol I had my BCs maxed out.

I agree with this, I learned when I had a Konig basically break apart and puncture my tire in my RSX

It could have been real bad but likely it was late at night with no one on the road

Real wheels are for bragging rights?

What the hell

Not real wheels, buying a certain brand to say you have them when all someone has to do is throw a centercap on there and they would never tell a difference...

Whats on your honda?

THockey you are correct

i know you drive ferraris and what not so yes of course youre gonna have forged wheels

btw what are you riding around these days?

Risking wheel rash > risking someone sideswipping / taking off your side view.

also in parking lots, hugging the curb on the end spot creates enough space to (hopefully) prevent door dings, which happen all the time

Don't see how you can curb a rim if your sideview mirror is pointed down, just back in slowly and watch your mirror

did you not have your license or something?

I had lost my wallet on campus and a dude found it stole a car and gave them my info.

I had my license but my car was in my moms name who lived in Texas and I had a Michigan license. So my name came up as one of his aliases.

Aw man.....I know someone who just put on some new Konigs on their car today. Konig Deception wheels.

I lurk this thread alot, some nice rides in here. I finally got an opportunity to purchase a whip, so I'm looking around. Particularly at a Passat or Jetta. Can anybody drop some knowledge on them or direct me to a good forum to read uo on them?

Then you got hella rich guys like Jay Leno and Lebron who drive AMERICAN MUSCLE... You think they're buying it for the luxury package? No.
...and you think Lebron James bought a Challenger SRT8 and Camaro SS for their performance? Hogwash. He bought them because they're whats hot in the streets where he came from and he could afford the top of the line model(s) ten times over without blinking.
Just like I stated before, a mans car says a lot about himself. People buy cars for different reasons.

Your taste is your taste. Just because something is your type, that doesn't make it the RIGHT type for everyone.
Totally agreed. This thread has turned into an all out pissing match that's going nowhere but in circles. It started off pretty well...
And at the end of the day, that guy has a Toyota trying to make it the best car he's ever built/driven/raced. I'm sure he couldn't care less about a Lambo if he's packing 1000hp. The Totyota supra is one of the most iconic Japanese cars ever... Just as iconic in its own right as a Lambo. I doubt he's THAT jealous.
You spoke about compensation before when it came to luxury cars, and its no different in the price/performance argument. At the end of the day, you're still comparing a heavily modified vehicle with thousands invested to one that's rolled off the factory floor, albeit with a (much) higher price tag. That particular person bought the Lamborghini because he/she wanted the Lambo. They could've afforded the 1,000HP Supra, too, if desired. The same probably cannot be said about the person with a Supra easily affording the Lamborghini.

Saying you can modify the V6 version to keep up with the V8 is irrelevant. With the amount spent to do that, you could've acquired the higher trim and still retained all the drivability, reliability, warranty, and resale value of an unmolested stock vehicle. There's absolutely no return on the money "invested" in aftermarket parts and the car is then marketable to a much smaller group of buyers.

Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and other exotic cars provide plenty more than the just raw test numbers that so many are quick to scoff at. There's an indescribable aura type feeling and excitement the provide, whether you're driving, passenger, or even watching it pull up. For most, that's more worth the price of admission.

That can be said for any sports car. Price and origin have nothing to do with it. Just like I said before. The Toyota Supra, Nissan Skyline, Honda NSX, Mazda RX-7, etc. all have that same effect.. Its not about the specific car, but rather how the person who see's it feels about it. I see Lambo's, Ferrari's, Porsche's and **** every day... Ain't as special as seeing a 68 Camaro or a 96 Supra...

And at the end of the day, if you're buying a car based on how much it costs or what luxury features it has, then more power to you. If you want to cop a sleeper and mod it, cool. If you want to make a cheap daily driver a beast under the hood, whatever. Go for it.. But not everyone buys cars for the same reason. And that was my ultimate point... In both posts...

Whats "better" to me doesn't mean its better in general. My whole point in bringing up the Supra with crazy horsepower was to show that not everyone cares for expensive cars. Whether they can afford it or not. Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world and doesn't give 2 ***** about a Lambo... Theres some kid in high school right now that probably prefers an Evo or a GTR over a Koenigsegg...

My ultimate point? The **** doesn't matter. Let people like what they like.

Now, back to da hemi

And can someone break down the pro's and cons of replica wheels to me? I hear a lot about people actually buying them. Is it really that bad? (srs question)

I didnt know pep boys sold wheels
laugh.gif

I had BBS LM reps on my Lexus and never had someone come talk **** or even think they were reps...

3k wheels on a civic doesn't make much since to being with...
As much as I'd like to have real wheels, like you said. It just doesn't make sense financial wise, and risk wise.
why do people worry about parkin so close to the curb? i rather park one foot away then try to get real close
Them Honda thieves homie. It's hard in the screets outcheaa

Dude apparently knows the market for automobiles & why people purchase them yet can't distinguish the difference regarding that of replicas. Ninja, is that you?

Some posters in here actually make sense while most are horrible back-trackers and/or have very little knowledge of cars aside from using Google...

IMO- there is nothing wrong with reps. Haters gonna hate but whatever. Still a clean looking wheel, it's funny because everyone here acting like they know wheels like they know Jordans. I'm pretty sure no one here was able to tell that my wheels weren't legitimate Work Equip 03's, there is in no way from any picture that I posted you can tell they are reps. There is only 2 ways you can tell in person, but I'm pretty positive MOST people here don't know.
