\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

So I was on my way home from GameStop merging on to the highway and this small but loud vehicle is behind me

Soo. As we get on the highway he switches to the far left lane and shakes out

Turns out to be a Shelby Daytona it was all black that mug was so tough :pimp:

You know that was a kit car probably with an LS right?...

Also... Speaking of kit cars... Got passed by a Caterham 7 today riding with a friend... That was pretty ******* cool...
didn't sound like one
Sounded like a 427 small block ford

As a 911 owner, i'm curious to know when the hell this price transformation happened. :x :smokin

993s have been on a sharp incline for the past 2 years.

I blame Magnus Walker C&C hipsters and RWB destroying them at a record pace.

The prices have grown so high, so fast; I think it's a bubble like Mopar prices in the early 00s. Even as the numbers for stock examples dwindle, they made way too many of them for these extreme prices to last.

There's only 6? authentic Daytona's... What you saw was most definitely a kit car... It could have anything for an engine... But most use an LS..

Yeah, those are $10m cars. Chances of seeing one anywhere but a museum are slim to none. I think the real ones were all 289s as well.

They've already fallen considerably since the early 00's. Rarities like the Dodge Daytona/Plymouth Superbird will always be worth a lot. But the market is nothing like it was 10-15 years ago. Non-AAR 'Cudas were hitting 500+k back then, now they're running less than 1/4 that much.

Desirable cars will always be desirable to some extent, but as boomers are dying, so is the market that feeds the beast. Take old Hotrod Fords for example. The prices on those were crazy in the 80s and early 90s, but as the silent generation died off, so did the market that was buying those cars for those extreme prices. As boomers die off there will still be gen xers and millennials interested in cars of that era, but what they mean to someone who's 60 and someone who's 30 isn't the same and prices will reflect that. People want cars they grew up around but couldn't have when they were younger. There's no doubt that has a lot to do with 993s skyrocketing at the time gen xers are really starting to make some money.

The concept of wanting certain cars, but couldn't have them when you were younger makes a lot of sense.

I always used to frequent the evo/subie forums when I was younger, but frequented evolutionm.net more. Haven't been there in years, though.

Always wanted one, and never thought I would go back to owning one after my first m3. Definitely didn't mind paying what I did for mine (although it's not 200k+ like those others). But the simple fact that I always wanted one is what made me pulled the trigger tbh.

So why did u buy a carolla instead of a subie?

Jk papu uno i luv u

i see you, i see that 4g63 still marinating in the back of you mind.

I give it 2 years before you're on the hunt for a clean Evo 8/9 again

That got me thinking

I need to get a c4 before the prices rise

Remember looking at some back in 11-12 and you could find a mad decent one for about 6-7 gs

I always see the RWB name pop up when we discuss Porsche.

What exactly is RWB? :nerd:
