And how do we know "this" article is accurate, when you say SI.com isn't accurate?

It's always something at each turn with you.

CNBC isn't accurate? Would you get your financials from CNBC, or Sports Illustrated?

You have to realize another thing as well... By the time he hits playoffs... His sig is done for... He's on his PS's... Which will not be targeted at 160$.This has been an issue since his whole soldier shoe came out... He needs to stick to his elite sig that was "crafted to his specifications/likes"But Kobe will outsell Lebron if both players meet... I'd prefer a LA vs Boston rival again... Brings in more ratings.... Leave the Kobe vs Lebron for Xmas or for the reg season... Espn anchors try to build the hype but that's their job to bring in ratings... America wants that classic rival..... Not some 2 egotistic superstars.... It's more than that... Pride and championship banners

I worked with NIKE Basketball in research and development, sports marketing, and retail.    As most of you know, NIKE has dominated basketball footwear sales for the last two decades - with and without LeBron.  He was pursued aggressively by NIKE because he was a good investment and NIKE wanted to protect their market share from competitors, not because he was vital to the success of the brand.  And in regards to what athlete can sell out $160.00 shoes right now, the answer is "nobody" (not even LeBron).  The Air Zoom Kobe line has a very good sell-through rate at approximately $130.00 MSRP each year.  When considering sales data, $130.00 and $160.00 are in the same premium category anyway.  The "killer" pricepoint has always been sub-$100.00, where NIKE sells most of its take-downs and team bank shoes to the general public.  As far as LeBron leaving NIKE for a controlling interest in another brand, that strategy has yet to work (see DADA, OUNK, etc...).

For better or worse, NIKE has been and will be the global leader for the forseeable future.  And that translates into more money and a better product for basketball players considering endoresement contracts.  On a side note, while I still love NIKE Basketball, I feel that Brand Jordan is at serious risk of becoming what adidas basketball was in the 80's - a complacent, uninspired, bloated company that assumes it will always win just by showing up.  I haven't owned a numbered Air Jordan model since the XVI because I didn't feel like I "had" to have it.  I know the Jordan hybrids and mash-ups make money but it's turning a once great brand into a caricature of itself.

They may not have always had LeBron, but since Jordan, they have always had a popular face to push their product. If they did not have MJ, they wouldn't have been credible enough to get all the other players who came after him.

LeBron is just a link in the chain.

Pull LeBron off the chain, Nike Basketball is in trouble.

Fallen?
No Im still here.. Just focusing on more pressing things like my Sports Marketing and Radio Career.

Yet Nat/Jack/Chocolate still lives and lives to get under folks skin.

Sycophantic are we yet he still lives & breathes to contradict any and everyone who disagrees with him as his word is the only word to be true.  I still wonder until this day.. does he do this on Reebok and Adi fan sites?

Im not fallen.. just choose not to let youngsters who do what they do derail me from what is important in life. My kids and my future. Those who Im cool with still keep in contact with me and they are the one's I keep in touch with.

Nat shame on you bruh.  Open your mind and let one thing someone else says be valued instead of shot down. Its what Adults do.

I'll be back in 6 months.  Til then... do what you do. Make me chuckle. It's all I can do because as a true contrarian you simply live to see how many can be affected by your words and in the end swayed by the claims you make which are baseless and unfounded. Just because you say the Sky is Red although our eyes tell us its blue doesnt mean because you've stated it means we are blindly following our eyes or loyalty to what we like.  But hey you keep coming back.

I'd actually LOVE to meet you in person one day to see who you really are and if you are the person you claim to be or as I;ve found to have an online shtick.  Be well my man.  Lose some of that anger and animosity...it would make for a better you and a much better conversation on a Nike message board.

To answer your question.. yes.. Lebron could and would leave Nike.  Phil Knight could or would.  But will he?  Not likely.  Even if you feel the product to be inferior the Machine behind it isn't and will never be.

Widen & Kennedy is that Machine. If a designer fails, W&K will bail them out.  Nike is allowed to fail in some instances, because it's succeeded on so many other levels.  As has been said. Nike prospered before Lebron..and will long after he is gone.

Where they lacked in Design creativity years ago they have more than made up for in recent releases not only in Basketball but Sports Wear.  Nike always does what it wants and will continue to. Im a realist my man.  Sports is my business and it pays the mortgage for my consulting business. Radio merely pays for gas and vacations yet it still involves the Sports aspect. I realized that I could learn and seek mentor ship from dudes 10 years younger than me...Why because Im always willing to be open to new things and learn more.

When you can accept you are not the know all be all within everything Nike and Sports you will become a much more respected person on this board but I dont think that is your intent nor want.. thats cool I believe you have said as much.  I can respect that.. just not the way you go about it.  if you are as adult as you claim.. teach and be teached my man.  Hell I learned a child can try and turn a nation against you but those who know who you really are stand by your side.  I still live.

Niketalk doesnt make me who I am but I still appreciate it and those within it.  Again.. see you in six months...

Good to see you too. But I won't derail this thread even if its Nat's to entertain why I stopped "defending" myself against a few kids in the first place. But hey do you my man.

I hope all is well with you.. if anyone has anything they'd like to discuss... please. Feel free to contact me.

You are not qualified, nor credible enough to suggest anything like this. Did you give that kid his shoes, or did you simply post another pic of a gun?

Carry on.
