Nobody who averaged a 7 & 5 for his career is getting into the Hall of Fame. He was never even the third best player on any championship team he played for.

Yes, if there was a Hall of Fame for players whose highest individual accomplishment was making an all-rookie 2nd team, he's definitely a first balloter.

You can't be a hall of fame role player. It's just an oxymoron. Only reason he was always open for those big 3s is because there was always no less than 3 other players on the court at a time better than him, and this age of NBA players don't read scouting reports.

Horry is CLEARLY the exception to the Superstar rule. His "fame" is based on being in the right place at the right time, making the right plays. Clutch shot after clutch shot contributing directly to 7 rings. Plus he had one of the best performances in a finals game I have had a chance to witness (Spurs vs. Pistons), capitalized by his left-handed dunk over Rip Hamilton (classic). We can look at regular season stats all day, but the fact is, Robert Horry was a playoff stud who knew and did what it takes to win (ask Steve Nash and the Suns' bench).

I really don't get the Hall of Fame being called the Hall of Fame when it should really be called the "Hall of Great Stats." Bill Walton is in with 1 ring and an injury-plagued career where he did have some great stats to start, but averaged 47 games per season over his 10 active years in the league. He averaged a double-double 4 times and never scored 20+ ppg in a season. He ended up averaging 10.3 ppg, 10.5 Reb, 3.4 ast, and 2.2 blk in the NBA on top of his notable college career . To me, this means Grant Hill is 1 ring shy of being in the HoF. But clearly, I digress...

At the end of the day, Horry is notorious (famous) for his clutch play, and there is little risk of a career like his being duplicated (Name another like him if you can). It's not like people are hyping up a run of regular-season clutch shots and he's way more than "Steve Kerr x 7." It wasn't based on one coach or one system or one teammate. He put teams over the top habitually with his playoff play. The uniqueness of his situation should at least put him in consideration.

He shots maybe but overall as a competitor no. Does Derek Fisher make it to the hall? No because he isn't the reason why his team makes it to the playoffs where he has put on his best performances.

Doesn't even hit my HOF radar, so not close for me (and I like Robert, I was a huge Rockets fan)

Cousin?

Multi-dimensional joke... only a few people will probably get it (not saying you're dumb or anything)
