Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Franco is a good actor especially in 127 Hours but I don't see any Oscar level potential in him. Even though he's still relatively young, he's been in it for a while and I feel like he should've showed flashes by now.

He also needs to pick better roles, looking forward to Palo Alto though, Coppola :pimp:.

I need her.

Watching Ghostbusters II. I guarantee people will say 'its dated' 80s lives are great examples of how people watch movies nowadays. A good movie is a good movie, the effects, references, style shouldn't change the quality of story.

I still like it and my 8 year old son loves it.

:smh: & @ Tatum as Gambit...

RIP H.R. Giger... Some of the most fascinating & creepy artwork I've ever seen. Love Alien. Not much of a Dune fan but the art Giger to that flick was phenomenal...

1000

Looks like Batman Year One... Still don't like the Batmobile though... It looks like a wanker mobile that Tim Burton would come up with...

They got it right. I'm so happy and excited for how gritty and different he looks compared to Bale.

While I hated Man of Steel, this Batman element and the cast of characters in Batman vs. Superman has me amped.

Unfortunately the film is 24 months away

Damn. Was he in that docu, Jodorowsky's Dune? I need to see that.

...

And Batfleck looks like someone just stole his cookies.

Finally saw Don Jon, typical funny indie movie. I really don't see how some ppl had the strong reactions either way with it. Did JGL also write this? One complaint I can say is while it kept me engaged the story had some poor resolution and conclusion. Set up, follow through, conflict, climax was all there but the ending was just meh. I get that he found something bit deeper and was able to break through that whole porn > real sex and even moving from a beauty like ScarJo to J. Moore but still ending left me wanting an actual ending.

Saw Adore, movie about Naomi Watts and Robin Wright playing Aussie moms that bang each others sons. That had kind of a ****** up ending. Made me wonder how much this has happened in the real world.

Best movie I probably saw this week was The Details with Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney, Ray Liotta, Kerry Washington, and black Prez from 24/All-state guy. Love me my dark comedies. This was really good for me.

Bout to watch The Iceman and Rampart later.

I like your thoughts on Don Jon Zik. But I don't see how you can use the word "typical" comedy indie... Nothing typical about that
Movie

The whole flow of it just seemed like any other indie flick. I've watched a lot of them so that's the vibe I got. When you get in to the specifics and details of it yeah it's not typical but I'm just talking about the movie beats felt like other comedy indies I've seen except for how it ended but even then that's a bit of an indie thing to do too.

Jake Gyllenhaal has been a lowkey, favorite actor of mine for awhile now.

Ok, he's not really a lowkey actor, but I feel like he gets overlooked a bit

I agree with you. I think Jake is still waiting for that HOLY BLEEP role that puts him on the map
