Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Started John Wick last night but fell asleep. I like the premise, but does it stick to the Jason Statham action steez the whole way through where he takes out 50 dudes per scene?

*Reek plays a great scumbag role.

1/19: HBO has greenlit The Deuce, a new drama series from The Wire creator David Simon set in New York's porn industry in the 1970s/'80s. James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal star.

Good names attached to this, but I find it kind of an odd choice since HBO is already running a 70s period piece set in NYC in Vinyl. I realize its different subject matter, but if I was them I would have gone with something less overlapping.

No, there are a couple scenes where he takes out as few as 4 or 5 people.

Franco :pimp:

Maggie :x

Damn, I believe they also have ANOTHER period piece (in addition to the 2 mentioned) from that decade coming out as well.

EDIT: Wait, I think the one I'm talking about is the Franco one now that I think about it. Franco + killer mustache on-set photos are starting to surface in my memory

Maggie better keep her ******* clothes on

IDK, man. You may have to just look away from the screen because with a show about pron on HBO, I gotta think she's getting nekkid at least once.

Plus, we've all seen Lena Dunham naked now, so Maggie at least isn't that bad.

verizon fios sucks so much. They don't even have the Vikings season premiere up on-demand yet. Those fools are always late putting stuff up or have missing episodes to aggravate you.
I be wondering if it's verizon that controls that or the network cuz I've been waiting weeks for this one show to put up it's other eps on demand. They still haven't put ep 2 yet ep 4 just aired.

I was getting pissed.

One thing they need to get rid of is you can't ff through the show, trying to force ppl to watch commercials or worse promos for the networks shows :smh:

Probably the networks but I don't remember being this mad when I had optimum. I just want to watch Vikings. It's actually up on the history channel site so i'll watch it later.

anyone see the good dinosaur? ive heard mixed reviews. debating if i should spend the 6 bucks to rent it on-demand

Caught a good portion of American Hustle today for the first time. Underwhelming. Just couldn't get into the story. Also, am I the only one who thinks J Law was overacting a bit in this one?

Don't spend any money on that movie.

My exact sentiments regarding that movie.

The only bright spot of that movie was De Niro's cameo (because he was playing a wise guy, again :pimp:).

Tough, and in some ways not entirely comparable since Wick was more playing it straight while Kingsmen was going for a level of camp, but I'd pick Wick. On the strength of the fact there's a bit more suspense and stealth.

All the way. Didn't deserve recognition for the role.

Night club scene in John Wick. The cinematography and track transition from the pop song "Think" to the techno/edm song were just done so damn well. Also John stabbing the guy looking into his eyes during the chorus, getting frustrated when his clip was empty, and the look of death he gives Theon >>>

John Wick was dope and the entire club scene was appreciated. But there are few scenes as masterful as that one from Kingsman.

700

Everything about it was great, from the variety of kills Harry performs to the wild music playing during it.
