F1 Official Thread - Grand Prix of Britain

That was a helluva lap... especially considering his previous one.  Nothing between him and Nico.

Watching a replay of quali's and all cars seem to throw sparks all around the track. Is the tarmac not evenly layed throughout? :x

It's probably the elevation changes. Those modern circuits are really smooth, apparently.

Also, it's worth noting that Haas has been showing promising pace this weekend. They're really off to a good start to the season :smokin

They all run their cars super-low, but it's cuz of the titanium blocks they've added on the bottom to give off those sparks... to add to the show... it's all intentional.

I'm surprised how much the cars are bottoming out these days... yet they don't wear down the planks bad enough to be disqualified. :nerd:

It legitimately pisses me off.  The stupidity... the arrogance...

And then there's Bernie with his cheap shots... the drivers are what make his product a success.

Great race for the midfield. Meh at the front. Gutted for Seb. :\

P5 for Grosjean. Makes me want to get a Haas shirt :smokin They just need to work on the pit stops.

Good show from Stoffel as well.

The race was pretty good.  Good midfield battle.

But a damn shame for JB!

LOL

This is great for F1. Imagine if the entire field was evenly matched with their chassis and engine. It would all come down to the driver behind the wheel.

Anybody follow Lewis Hamilton on Snapchat? would never expect dude to the best in the world, seems more like he wants to be a singer/rapper

I don't have any social media, but I've seen some of his pics. I think that's just who he was from the beginning, but when he was at McLaren he had to play it safe. Now that he's at Mercedes, he's allowed to do what he wants. I noticed once he got that full sleeve.

Didn't know you were into F1 by the way.

I heard about and saw his New Zealand Snapchat 'stunt'.  I thought that was a bit silly and foolish cuz at the end of the day, it was dangerous and he basically incriminated himself.  It just seemed pointless. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, he was more 'contained' at McLaren, but at the same time, social media wasn't the same back then.  Given a choice, I'm pretty sure Merc would rather he tone it down.

I mean, Hugo Boss is one of their main sponsors, but he's out at other fashion shows rocking stuff from competing designers!

  A sponsor's worse nightmare!

And they downplay it by saying "just as long as he gets results on the track". He certainly loves the attention. Most of the other drivers are somewhat reclusive. Nico knows how to do company PR -he gets it. Fernando is just robotic. Kimi's... Kimi. Most emotion from him this season (since "GP2 engine!") was that shot at Johnny Herbert. That was a bit harsh. Like Brundle on Horner

Actually, I never found Fernando to be robotic. He's always seemed kinda feisty to me... and that was before the GP2-engine outburst.

But with being the balance of having fun or being a company man, I think it's down to the individual.  Like Nico and Seb... they seem to like the quiet life, especially now since they both have a child.  Or JB who loves his training, triathlons, biking, etc... and of course Lewis who likes his partying, fashion, music, etc.  But ultimately, I think they all need to be a bit of a company man.  It's part of the job... comes with the territory.  You get to enjoy the fortunes of being a superstar racer, but you also have to play your part.  Kimi hates it, but at least does it with his

Wasn't there a pic just like this about 2 years ago? Looks like the same restaurant too.
