F1 Official Thread - Grand Prix of Britain

^ Just read it on Jalopnik. Well that's a damn shame. Was looking forward to that Grand Prix more than the COTA Grand Prix at Austin.

Kimi sure does find weird stuff to endorse.

Anyway, Project CARS just introduced wet weather reflection effects recently. Found it was a good time to make another video and test out Vimeo. Loads better than YouTube, but a pain in the @#$ to upload videos onto. It really gives you a better idea how the graphics look like in-game. :smokin

Here's the full video on YouTube:

I hated DC so much when that incident happened! but. its a racing incident. i hated Schumi too for colliding to DC knowing the visibility is horrendous and both of them were just passengers. I felt Schumi could waited in a straight line to have a clear lane since he have a huge gap from P2 and there's no reason to rush it. maybe im just carried a away on how Martin and Murray did the commentary that really sold it

Definitely a racing incident. IMHO, I believe DC should've moved off the racing line in that instance, as he was being lapped. Can't blame Michael all that much for trying to pass DC. DC had several corners to let Michael through. He definitely held Michael up -no reason to do so, especially since Michael was the race leader at that time, and he was essentially a lap down. DC just backed off at the wrong time (and manner) and Michael just followed too close. Would've definitely affected that season's WDC, for sure.

Didn't realize there were a lot of former F1 drivers in Australian V8 Supercars. Crazy accident. :wow:

Wow, that was pretty crazy. 20+ cars, narrow start/finish straight... 1 stall and that's all it takes.

Yeah, didn't realize so many ex's were in Aussie V8's!

As for that DC-MSC incident, it was tricky... he backed off, but backed off too much. With how much spray there was, made it even worse.  DC admitted last year that he should have done better in that situation.

D'Ambrosio becomes the first driver to officially drive around the COTA track.

Looks like it has more elevation changes than what's in F1 2012. It looks rather flat and narrow in the game, to be honest. Still like the New Jersey track more, as well as Indianapolis. Aside from the huge hill in Turn 1, this just has copycat written all over it. Hockenheim, Bahrain, Istanbul Park, Silverstone, and Abu Dhabi. Not really a fan of ridiculously long straights. Doesn't make the tracks flow well, IMO. They tried to do too much with this circuit.

Yeah, I like the undulations of the track... T1 looks nuts.  Interesting to see all the different 'copied' turns. Sector 1 with the Maggots-Becketts complex and sector 3 with the reverse-turn-8 from Turkey stuck-out the most.  Still need to see where the overtaking opportunities will be... just the back-straight maybe.  Quite a few blind corners too, which will make it tricky.

the designers of that track admitted right away that they copied famous parts from of a lot of tracks. i remember, what they want in T1 is an uphill Senna S but it will becaome too steep that it look like an awful Eau Rouge

I don't mind "copying" famous corners, but the whole thing just doesn't look like it flows well. Mind you, I haven't tried it in a game yet, so I could be wrong.

Eau Rouge my ***!

yeah! its hard to copy something thats not man made slopes like Eau Rouge or Monaco.
its easy to just copy and put it together but it derails the FLOW of the track.
for some reason this track really reminds me of Hermano Rodriguez

^ I'm telling you it's the 234223423423432km long straights he integrates into the tracks that come out of nowhere that messes up the flow of the circuits. They should've thrown a kink in there (a la Hockenheim) to have some variety. I'm really not a fan of how Tilke ends the lap of his recent circuits, either. A bland 90-degree corner onto the Start/finish straight is just an anticlimactic ending to a lap, IMO.

Really a big fan of the Senna S. It's definitely up there as one of the best corners in F1. :smokin

Speed's streaming of Practice 1 & 3 thru their website is much more convenient than their coverage of P3 and Quali that you have to watch on TV :smh:

There's absolutely NO commercial breaks in here, just pure racing :nthat:

Fernando didn't get the chance to challenge for the win, but he got the next best outcome. Can't help but be happy with that. Seb just untouchable this weekend. :smh:

Mad props to Alonso... he had no biz getting P2, but out-hustled Jense, Lewis and Mark... much credit to him.  At least he's keeping the title-fight close.

Anyway... overall... a Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz race.

Yeah. That start was was incredible. Three-abreast out of that hairpin in the opening lap. Good stuff. :smokin The rest of the race was definitely boring, though.

Really feel sorry for Michael in this latter part of the season. He's going out like Wizards MJ. :smh: :\

i was hoping Seb and Alonso would take out each other or a dnf would do
that way Kimi, LH and Webber would catch up with the points for more exciting last 3 races

The season is getting boring already. Might as well give Red Bull the Constructor's and Vettel the Driver's championship.

The only exciting parts of the race was when Alonso passed Webber, and when the 3 cars of Kobayashi, Maldonado, and Senna were bunched up. :wow:

Hey but at least our 4-5 got us within 10 points of Ferrari for 2nd place in the Constructor's. :smokin

Abu Dhabi next week 8) I kinda like that track

Same here, was hoping he'd pick up a win this season but nothing yet. Hopefully he can get it done in one of these final three races but it probably won't happen.
