OFFICIAL HOMELAND Thread | FINAL SEASON

The camera shaking and ending were really dumb this episode. Overall, I enjoyed.. just didn't like the constant shaking to demonstrate that Carrie's losing it slowly. Ending was just weird. The husband is a real douche man.. hated that dude ever since he tried to flex on Don in Madmen.
I thought that was great, to be spaced out just like Carrie with camera shaking, lights flickering and hearing every little thing.
This dude Lockhart has untouchable confidence/swag

Carrie actually got crazier
eek.gif
Couldn't stand dude last season, hell or the beginning of this one but he showed out this episode.
Bruh, the ISI is the devil. WTH!!!!

I thought the CIA recruits agents out of MIT, Harvard, Yale and other Ivy League schools. 'Cause the agents on this show are beyond dumb, thinking they making power moves yet they are always falling into the enemies trap. Seriously I'm supposed to believe that after Carrie got kicked out of the CIA for being bipolar that an intelligent person wouldn't guard their meds with their life. This is all after she believes that there is is a spy at the station. You know what forget that, what happened to the meds she was taking while laying up with Ayan?????
Fara more than likely trashed it when she cleaned the safe house, or Carrie did when Fara took it the office.

its like ever since breaking bad ended in 5 seasons, everyone thinks shows have to end in 5 seasons now :smh:

few shows get to reboot like how homeland did, now it needs to end in one more season?

I don't like seeing shows which drag on and end up extrapolating storylines to the point where the quality of the show goes down. Weeds is a good example.

Breaking Bad is overrated btw.

Weeds had 1 good season. Second was serviceable & then it all went down hill & comical from that point on.

This season has been solid. Not sure what there is to complain about IMO. If you don't like this season, you proly really don't like the show period & just watching because you made a time investment. :rolleyes

Why do people think Lockhart is showing out or tipped the swag meter? He went all balls out when initially meeting the Pakistan delegation & then the WH is basically telling him the US is pumping the brakes on what he'd like to do forcing him to go back to the Ambassador...

He's a terrible leader... All comical emotion. It's a TV show though... :rolleyes

Again, I said nothing about disliking this season. Just implied that I don'tt want to see this show drag onand lessen the quality

homeland >>>>> weeds, like they arent even comparable, weeds was a comedy

this season hasnt even fallen off

if anything the quality is better now that brody (and his family) are gone

and BB slander

he is terrible but he's getting better

first not wanting saul dead

then his decision-making with the seals

i think he said the president gave him carte blanche, it wasnt until the ambassador threatened to resign that they decided to let her have a shot and work her channels

while lockhart wanted to cut their aid, the ambassador is trying to trade pow's for saul's release i think

cant really say which is a better strategy

How are they not comparable? Suspense/Dramas by default have higher quality and longevity than comedies? I'm comparing the duration of the seasons and their quality, not the genres. For the second time
none of my posts implied that the show is falling off. But I guess I'm getting jumped on for hoping a good show will end on a good note before stretching itself thin. :rolleyes

And yes, Breaking Bad Slander [emoji]128530[/emoji]

so homeland has been declining ever since season 1 like weeds?

even then, comparing them "quality-wise" its still not comparable

if you wanted to compare it to something, dexter wouldve been a better example.

Weeds declined that early? Nah

Listen man, we could go all day back and forth since I see you're willing to ride for your favorite show, but the fact of the matter is we won't know until we see. Quality is subjective so really no use in arguing about it. However long Homeland decides to extend for, I'm in it for the long haul anyway. :\

Cuz some ppl don't think it's as good anymore.

I remember ppl saying that this show should've ended after S1 and start all over with a different turned serviceman in S2. Said the same thing during S2, that it should just end here and move on to a whole new cast.

At this point the way things are going I feel they're wearing thin on writing material. The premise and whole concept was actually based off of something in the beginning, now they just winging it.

BB has nothing to do with this and shouldn't be mentioned. If anything, this isn't a Weeds situation this is like the decline of 24.

Showtime has a track record of making their shows drag on and suffer in quality.

Ratings have been way down and will continue to do so. But knowing showtime they'll just drag this for as long as they can like they did with Dexter. They dont have that many hit shows so it's not by choice...

I think this season has been solid. Save for some operational/procedural issues I have with the way some things happened, I'm gravy.

Have to remember this is a tv show, a work of fiction, not real life so the way some things happen won't really gel when thinking of real life.

Some of you would be "critics" are hilarious... Like you guys have written or produced better material...

if they had done every season with a soldier turned terrorist that would have been wack

they finally did essentially move on to a new cast, save a couple holdovers but they killed a portion of the cast in s2

if anything the show is now based on what it was supposed to be on, espionage and international relations, not a love story or a family story

as far as showtime shows dragging, to that i say we dont judge amc by hell on wheels or low winter sun

between this and shameless being their best, with maybe house of lies and ray donovan being entertaining if not top tier, id say showtime's record is better than most

but hey, lets complain just when theyre getting it right

my favorite part was when Saul was just talking to Haqqani and brought up 9/11, something about that talking scene I enjoyed a lot

My Lord man, are you on their payroll? No need to defend it, not everyone will like the show

I forgot all about Shameless :smokin

bruh ever since Fara lost the accent and the hijab, she took the crown as the baddest on the show.

that female ISI agent is hella bad too....finna grow my beard out and audition for the show next year b

Nah it just get tiring that every show thread you have people complaining every week. If a show bothered me that much I would stop watching it. I'm not watching **** that's gonna make me complain every episode

But that's just me...

Thee accuracy.

I don't watch anything that has me complaining every week (except The Walking Dead ) but even then you won't catch me in TWD thread complaining about every episode.

I'm not saying that's what they should've done. I'm saying that's what ppl were saying they should do instead of continuing the story. This is what they were suggesting after doing a one and done with this story. I bring this up since you've either weren't around when ppl were saying that or forgot.

So again ppl calling for the end of Homeland isn't something new which was basically my point in bringing those things up.

they finally did essentially move on to a new cast, save a couple holdovers but they killed a portion of the cast in s2
That's not what those ppl were asking for so this example wouldn't have satisfied.

if anything the show is now based on what it was supposed to be on, espionage and international relations, not a love story or a family story
This show has never been a love story or a family story. Nor was it solely intended to be about espionage and international relations and that's coming from the showrunner and creator. These interviews are all out there. I think you're confining elements of this show in to a box like it can't be more than one thing. The very premise and entire concept of the series is based on a U.S. pow coming back home and is secretly a traitor to his country. Peep the source material a.k.a. the original series.

Brody coming back and having to deal with his family is simply apart of the package.

Umm yeah, you're gonna have to accept ppl have differing opinions. That's all.
between this and shameless being their best, with maybe house of lies and ray donovan being entertaining if not top tier,
Showtime is known for this. They make their shows drag on, especially the ones that had high quality; Dexter, Weeds, U.S. of Tara, etc. Check ya Showtime on demand series section. Right now I'm hoping it doesn't happen to Shameless since that's it's best show with Masters of Sex and Ray Donovan not far behind.

AMC has a better track record than Showtime. Low Winter Sun was cancelled after one season and Hell On Wheels is better than a good deal of shows on Showtime. Mind you it's on it's 3rd season as well going strong.
id say showtime's record is better than most
Who is this most? Where does Showtime really rank if we judge by the past 5 years? HBO, AMC, FX, and ******* Cinemax have managed to step their game up immensely. Not to even bring up network channels. We stick to cable and there's only so many choices come Sunday nights so basically to say they're better than most means they're either #1 or #2. I can't agree with that at all.
but hey, lets complain just when theyre getting it right :smh:
I really wouldn't say Showtime is "getting it right" now with Homeland. The show has appeared to lose something it had the first 3 seasons but the season aint over yet so we shall see but I've seen more low lights than highlights so far.
