OFFICIAL Ye fka "kanYe West" x G.O.O.D. Music Thread - ¥$ (AKA YE X TY DOLLA SIGN) - VULTURES (NOW AVAILABLE WOWWWW)

It's because 90-95% of them lame street rappers you mentioned rap about killing people over and over again. Super negative
lyrics with zero substance. Ye never rapped about killing anybody nor selling tons of drugs. I'll take Ye any day over some
corny non creative drug rap.

Miss me with that. Damn near every rapper has talked about getting somebody killed. ALL the greats. Even the guy Kanye looks up to. If a line about murder makes you not want to hear a rapper, hip hop is not for you.

I'm pretty sure Ye has rapped about getting someone, to do his dirt for him. Smh at acting like street rap can't have depth because of rapping about killing.

The best rappers of all time have 100 bodies in their raps .

Finally finished it...most memorable songs for me are Ultralight Beam, FML, Real Friends, Wolves (still want the OG version too), No more Parties in LA and Fade. Facts sounds better than the first time I listened to it but thats just sonically I still don't really feel that track.

Not one of his best but overall i'd say its a decent to good album.

He needs to fix alot more than wolves . Album is aight. Ultralight Beam, Father Stretch My Hands and No More Parties in LA might get added to a playlist. Maybe Waves too. FML is a cool track, but I don't usually sit around listening to depressing *** music like that so I don't see that getting too much burn down the road.. Everything else, meh. Kanye's time is dying down, but it's cool he had a great run. Still an interesting album, even if it's not musically dope, if that makes sense.

I don't know what's funnier. Kanye thinking this album is worth any type of award, Steph being the best player of this generation or him thinking Watch the Throne was a good album....

I wish every one of his albums were the Quality of MBDTF, Late Registration is my personal favorite simply because I like the growth I saw between CD to that. I'm not that delusional to know that MBDTF is a masterpiece though. Pretty much his pinnacle and it would be foolish of me to ask him to go back to Late Registration Ye

While I respect the fact that he is truly an artist, with the style change ups and unexpected features, I wish he at least maintained the quality of MBDTF(probably foolish of me again), a great blend of production, features and lyrics. I think he could still be a relevant 39 year old rapper if he did that. This album isn't garbage, and I'll give it many more spins for sure. It just wasn't what I was expecting is all.
I wish it was more cohesive and I liked what I was hearing when it came to wolves, all day, fade, real friends,NMPILA and even famous and 30 hours. Waves, highlights,,FML are nice standouts, but to me this seems to be on par with Yeezus in terms that I literally only enjoyed Yeezus when My wife and I saw him on tour and heard it live. I feel like it may not have as much replay value after that. I only listen to bound and blood on the leaves from that album, every other track I skip.

I'm going to keep an optimistic mind though, as when 808's dropped it took 6 months for me to start rockin with that, and as a longtime fan of Ye's, it would be foolish of me to write him off quickly, something I haven't done with anyone I'm a fan of.

Most overrated "artist" of our time. Ye hasn't been good since 2007. MBDTF was above average.

Like Eminem, a short run of great music....followed by a decade of trash, living off their past greatness.

I'm having a really hard time getting past the blatantly corny sex lines. Bleached a-hole, Taylor Swift, the thing in Freestyle 4 about banging on the table, etc etc... maybe it's because I'm 27, I don't know... but the lyrics on this record alternate between average to flat out BAD.

On the other hand, some of these songs are truly beautiful... I'm thinking mainly of Waves, FML, Real Friends, 30 Hours and Fade. Then there's Pt. 2, Feedback, Parties in LA all keeping the rap feel on this record. I genuinely very much like those 8 songs and a few more.

But for the first time maybe ever... there are a few truly bad songs. Low Lights? Freestyle 4? Bad. Facts? Slightly better with the new beat, but still weak.

I'm not ready to give this a rating yet. But the scattered, schizo element throughout this thing and the lazy lyrics are very real concerns for me.

Damn this might be one of the better comparisons I have seen. Eminem's albums have been worse after his classic one's by far though. Ye's are at least listenable.

Em has 2 great albums since '99(?) Eminem Show was NOT that good.
Ye has 4(at least) since '04. The only project I don't listen to at all is 808s. This isn't close to his best work but the good songs are so good that it makes up for the filler tracks on this one to me. As someone that's been telling himself that he shouldn't like Ye because of all the extra BS he does I still **** with this album and I ****** with Yeezus.
To each his own but I'm happy I've been able to grow up with Ye since I just became a teen up until now and he's made me happy enough with his work.

If Ye didn't surround this release with all the bs, this could've been an interesting release. Release this version on tidal, gauge fan reaction and release an improved final version, which is most likely what he's gonna do, on iTunes, physical and all that.

There's people like this, then there's people like me, 808s is one of the greatest albums ever. So many vibes.

Yeezus being me least favorite (and I still like/love it alot)

He had way too many influences in the studio this time around and every since Yeezus. If your name is Mike Dean, Cudder, or someone who has classic material and bring something to the table as far as writing, mixing, concepts. **** the stu with Ye, please.

Saying there's people that like something and there's people that don't like something isn't that profound a statement
