Anyone experience a concussion before? I suffered a concussion playing in my adult flag (i know

) football league saturday. I was wide open for a TD when the safety closed in on me and knocked me out of the sky. I remember seeing the ball two feet from my hands then laying on the ground starring at the blue sky. Man Ive played football, soccer, basketball, and baseball all my life and have never experienced such a beat down...and it was in flag football of all things.

in middle school in basketball. went up for a layup a kid charged up like he was going to go for a block then changed his mind, ducked but kept running full speed, and took my legs out from under me. I landed on the back of my head and was out for a little.

was never diagnosed as a concussion but between the week+ of head aches and puking... yeah.

I smashed my head off some hard snow/ice one time snowboarding overshooting a landing... Had a helmet on but still hit it Suuuuuuuper hard. Blacked out for a minute.

Don't they say anytime you hear that "ringing" in your head that means your concussed? If so I had a couple in HS Football.

Two that I can recall:

First one was in t-ball. I was playing pitcher and this dude hit a line drive right off my face. Found a video of it:

Second one was in tryouts for junior high basketball. I was running full speed for a loose ball, got tripped, and face planted into the cinder block wall. I came to and the coach was standing over me. I couldn't really see his face because the lights felt so bright. I thought he was Jesus for about 15 seconds.

got mine in the 4th grade trying to clear 8 rungs on the monkey bars. my momentum carried me too far forward and the next thing i remember i'm spending the night in the hospital for observation.

Yup, I got mine a little over a year ago playing tackle football with no pads (not the smartest idea, I know). I got clocked with an unnecessary shot while running into the end zone.
Concussions are crazy, that's all I have to say.

Boxing

New kid shows up in the foster home I was in. We all found out he was a boxer. My cocky self just saw that he was a couple inches shorter and maybe 20 to 30 pounds lighter, I don't know, something like that. I was 15, and had only been in your standard school fights. He was 17, and had been boxing since he was 13.

But the fact that he boxed meant nothing to me. All I knew was I was bigger than him, and taller than him, so I thought I could get at him.

Wrong.

The foster parents let us go ahead and box on the front lawn the second day he was there, using his boxing gloves.

We touched gloves, and then…

… the end.

3 hits. Totally remember them. First one was right on the front of my gloves, where I had my guard up in front of my face. Knocked me off balance, then he got me with a two-hit combo. Second one, I saw it come around in slow motion. Blasted the side of my head.

I got up a few seconds later to the foster dad, Al, standing over me, laughing.

I have had 4 concussions, two when I was under 3yrs old, one when I was six, from running on the playground and running into a play fort, got knocked out, got one when I was 13, playing basketball, my head hit a dudes knee.  Have hella ear ringing now

Some jackass hit me under my legs when I tried going up for a dunk in high school. Fell back and landed on the back of my head. I literally remember nothing from that game that night.

Playing basketball a couple months ago. Hit heads going full speed. My nose took most of the hit but it was awful. Terrible headaches for a couple weeks straight and couldn't do anything active for that whole time. I ate so much ibuprofen just to try and get the headaches and dizziness away. Just looking at my phone or watching tv for a certain amount of time would have me feelin like ****

my boy got into a collision at first base in softball and got one but no one realized it so he kept playing. next at bat he hit a home run to left field but he ran to 3rd base  we took him to the hospital right after that.

Too many concussions from lacrosse, football and wrestling in high school. Starting to see some real life repercussions from them and it's starting to scare me. I find it ridiculous that high school athletic trainers are willing to put players back in games so willingly, with coaches approval. That's coming from someone with 7 documented concussions in 4 years of varsity athletics (just graduated last year). Concussions are taken seriously at the professional level of sports, but we shrug them off at the youth and high school levels.

got de-cleated junior year playing football

running full speed trying to tackle on a punt return, didn't see the giant blocker comin at me from that same direction and POW

kept my head on a swivel after that
