I'm looking to buy my first pair of APC and have a few questions if anyone could help me out:

1. what is the difference between the petit standard and the petit new standard?
2. If i wear a sz 30-31 in levis 511s what sz should i get in APC?
3. cheapest place to get APC?

Thanks.

Nice pickups on those nudies. How does that work though? Don't they have random sizes in those bags?

The bags are marked by size. For example, you'll have: 38/XL, 38/XXL, 36/M, ect. Each bag had at least: one pair of denim, one shirt or jacket, and a wallet and belt. It was a pretty good deal. For about $80 you got a bag with at least $350 worth of product.

Is the price of nudies non-selvedge jeans justified? I mean they're pretty pricey considering they aren't even selvedge. Sorry if this is a dumb question I'm still new to quality denim

It depends. Their basic dry organic heavy raw usually run around $165. You can get a pair of A.P.C. for about $30 more, but from my experience, the weights are usually the same on both. The only difference is the A.P.C. is selvedge. Nudies do have a nice fade to them once you put some work in them. Also, Nudies are usually always on sale, so you shouldn't have to pay retail if you look around.

I would say if you are worried about the price, you should save up a little and get a pair of Iron Hearts or Samurais. An 18-21oz denim is all you'll need. I see a lot of people complain about the price of those brands, but you'll see them buy three to four entry level brands within a four month period when they could have had a REALLY nice pair. Just my two cent.

Selvedge isn't an indicator of quality, it just means either the denim was sourced from a different mill or the id wasn't deliberately left in the jeans.  Nudies is also a brand that strives to create jeans in a eco and social friendly way, so buying their denim supports that part of the industry.   Anyways, like @jay zoe2  said Nudies go on sale pretty often so if you're patient you can get them cheaper than retail.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a pair of N&F weird guy blk selvedge , does anyone own a pair of weird guys ? How's the fit ?

I posted 2 pix 2 pages back of the BF wg's
They fit nice. I have athletic thighs so I get the space there and a skinnier leg.

there are a couple different types of NF black. I have the solid black( the ones 2 pages back are deep indigo) Basically every thread is dyed so when the jeans wear they will not fade. I've had mine almost a year and they're still black as night. For me, I didn't think fading black jeans would look good. I wanted a pair that would stay as black as possible. Lmk if you have any questions I can post pix if you like

Fit is great. I would prefer a slightly smaller leg opening, but the rise and quad room are great.

You also get a 35" inseam, so are likely able to cuff.

Yea I was not sure about the leg opening , looking for a sit similar to apc pns

NF makes a lot of great fits. The weird guy for me is a solid go to. But now that the jean trend is to go even skinnier, you may want to look into their other fits dependent on your body type.

Go to their website, they make Weird Guy, Skinny, Super Skinny and Stacked ... I've always wondered what the stacked guy would look like on my frame..or if I have the confidence to pull it off.. lol

You can see the thighs have a little more space and then they taper down from the knee.. the overall look is great IMO ..these are the solid black ones I mentioned earlier .

Since I already had the data... here are the measurements for the NF cuts.. i left out super skinny cause I'm not gonna rock super skinny lol

joeoh29 joeoh29 those look really clean , probably going to have to give them a try, from the description on the other fits they sound a little to skinny for my taste . Worst case I could always exchange them

Some sizing , my waist is 34 on my pair and it's perfect

Nt denim peps. What's a good premium Selvedge denim for a huskier gentleman like myself? I wear about a 40 waist. All the brands you guys speak of seen to only have skinny jeans and not bigger than a 34. Help me out please

thanks man...good luck with the purchase and cant wait to see the pix

Recommend having them, hemmed from n&f ? I see the APC are 33.75 inseam and I believe N&F are 37 on the skinny guy fit if I'm reading that correctly

I can help you with that. But be warned, it won't be cheap. Brand like Samurai, Iron Heart, Flat Head, and Evisu do go up to 40 and above waist, but they generally add a surcharge for sizes above a 38 waist. Also what is your body type? And how do you like to wear your denim? I ask because I want to actually help you out and I need to know that so I can lead you in the right direction. I myself have a 38 waist and I spent a lot of time going thru the trial and error period before I was able to finally get it right. I can help you avoid that.

Yes , the inseam is 37 for a "Skinny Guy" fit tag size 34

Where are you copping from?

NF does hem them for free ( through their Tate and Tokyo webstore)  but you're going to have to know your preferred length...

Yes, these do come a little longer and you should have them hemmed to your height.

Make sure to leave in room for honeycombing and cuffing... I always err on the longer side because lets face it, I'd rather have jeans fit a little too long than be a little too short!! LOL

Edit- I see you are in SD.. you can always order from Nordstrom, get free shipping and see if they'll hem them for you for free..most likely they will...

Here's nordstroms NF inventory

I don't want anything baggy. Right now I'm wearing lucky brand 361 straight. I have big legs so they cant be tight in the thigh area
