*USA Basketball* WOMEN EARN GOLD v. ESP (101-72)! MEN EARN GOLD v. SRB (96-66)!

if you have xfinity/comcast you can watch every game in its entirety on demand....

good looks. I forgot to mention that during the tourney. They usually had full games up within 24 hours of airing. I think they're only keeping them up trough the end of the month though.

While we are talking about praise. Did anyone else notice that logo for the mens olympic basketball is the Lebron "Dunkman" logo? Heck Jordan is retired and hasn't recived that kind of treatment and Kobe is the next best thing to Jordan.

It is just some Lebron stan that made the decision. Flavor of the month type of thing.

That was the most shocking moment of Sunday's gold-medal game for me — when things got hairy in the fourth quarter and I found myself saying the words "Come on, Kobe!" as he was jacking up a 3. You know what happened next: I cheered him on for the next few minutes, we won the gold, and then I immediately drove to a local spa and got a colonic.
From Bill Simmons.
That same thing happened to me during these games. I am a Laker fan but i noticed me rooting for Lebron and to be honest for every guy in the US team. I used to hate Lebron but after these games i can't.

Time for a bump I suppose

I have no idea who will be making the roster this summer for the World Championship or whatever the hell FIBA is calling it.

We are as deep as ever with this player pool.

But shoe-ins have to be Durant, Lebron, Paul, Russy, Harden, Love, Melo

And likely call ups should be George, D Will (based on his USA rep), Howard, Unibrow

that leaves like MAYBE 1 spot open for competition

but who knows, injuries will happen, guys will pullout and opportunities will open up for others. Its just insane to think that guys like Kyrie, Curry, LMA will likely be left out. I would love to see LMA on the sqaud.

Personally/Obviously, I want Cousins to get the call up but I don't see him beating out established USA bigs like Howard, Love, Unibrow, even Chandler or the newcomers who have a good standing with the program like LMA, Drummond, Lee, Griffin. Probably one more international cycle for him before he is on that squad, he will be 25-27 when that time rolls around

That's a good list. Are the big names going to play in the FIBA tournament? Guys like KD and Russy weren't big superstars like they are now on that 2010 FIBA team. The team was mostly young up and comers.

I assumed guys like Drummond, Farried, Lillard, Bledsoe, Cousins, Barnes, maybe Kyrie, etc. would play in the FIBA tournament. Sprinkle in a couple veterans for leadership and send them to Spain. If the FIBA team is going to be mainly guys from the Olympic team, that tournament is going to be food for them even moreso.

Melo already said he's not playing this summer. He's in the pool for 2016 only. Same with LeBron.

I think it'll be Love, Durant, Harden, Davis, Westbrook, George, Iguodala, Aldridge, Lillard, D-Will (unless they go younger at PG), Steph, and one true center (Dwight, Tyson or Andre Drummond).

The good thing about these squads is that they have a two-way player and rim protector in Davis to play alongside a center.

Not that it means anything really, but I've read that Griffin really wants to play in the World Championships.

Davis, Aldridge and Love are better stretch fours for FIBA though. Blake playing against a true zone defense does not sound like a good plan.

True, but Blake is a very good passer from the high post, which can be beneficial against a zone.

The World Championship roster will look completely different than the Olympic roster. I doubt Durant, LeBron will play. Let the young guys cook. Paul George, Cousins, Drummong, Davis and Curry

^according to my man dmbrhs dmbrhs that is correct.

Makes sense and I like it, in 2010 it gave guys like Durant, Russy, Rose, Iggy, Chandler, Love a chance to show out. With guys like Lebron and Melo sitting out it will only make things harder for Colangelo and Coach K to pick the rosters for 2016 if the young guns put on a show in Spain this summer.

If its gonna be like the last WC with non of the regs playing, I am hoping the roster will be

Curry/Irving/Lillard
Beal/Thompson
George/Leonard
LMA/Griffin/Lee
DMC/Drummond
