Seattle SuperSonics Thread

nothing pisses me off more than seeing OKC fans who haven't paid their dues celebrating wins like the went through horrible seasons. great thing its a #@*@ hole city in a toilet area of the country. westbrook will leave in free agency. harden will leave and durant will follow and OKC will be another loser team, with an empty arena.

have any of you guys heard about this like 2 weeks ago? OKC dudes can take shots at people but when the shots come back they run away and cry

Once Durant/Westbook/Harden are gone, unless they continue to win people just won't show up. Its just way too small of a market.

The pacers are a small market team, how they doing?

they are winning. when they weren't winning they weren't doing as great. plus do you realize what basketball is like in Indiana? think about how much you guys love overalls, moonshine, GED's, and your double wide trailors.

San Antonio has been winning since 99. being a bigger market wasn't as important back than as it is now with all the sponsorships. once the big 3 left its going to be tough for them. only way to build a good team in small markets is through the draft and that requires alot of luck

That's not the point, you said he'd leave in free agency except he just signed an extension for five years, so that's not really an option. Regardless, this is a Seattle thread so I'll leave it at that.

got me. only games that have been televised this year of them are playoffs so that's all i saw. attendance will be much better next year though.
but doesn't that help prove smaller market teams don't do well

so you think Westbrook will always play for OKC.

I cosign the movement.. it kills me to think Seattle would*be playing for a chip soon. That city needs a decent sports revival. Seahawks aint cutting it.

Lol, your argument is 10% basketball related 90% childish name calling. You claim OKC is a backwoods country ect, but indianas not???? Pot vs kettle. In anycase you want us to predict the future of the franchise, we can't.

Would you clowns who aren't about discussing the group of investors and City of Seattle's efforts to get another team in Seattle please $$+* of this thread at take these stupid arguments to the OKC season thread.

The fact nobody contributes to the actual team thread is telling of how people really feel....but I digress.

This thread should be about the potential of the Sonics coming back to Seattle. And I'll be the first to admit to getting caught up in ******ed Internet arguing. But at this point this should be treated like a team thread. Clowns, stay out.

Nah, no point in getting too worked up, especially if some are just trolling, in which arguing with them is pointless.

Good reading about the progress of the arena, but ultimately, seems like there aren't any vacant teams.

We can all agree that there will be no plans for an expansion team, so who is a potential candidate for relocation?

Charlotte? New Orleans? Sacramento?

My man Trunks once again telling the truth! PNW NT'ers, let's step out there and make your presence felt! ONCE AGAIN:

you guys here the latest thing people are trying to pull to stop this. Apparently paying $2-3 more a year on property taxes is to much SMH sometime i hate this area

Indiana is a pretty small market and its not going great for the Pacers. Part of that is due to the recent success of the Colts, part of it the antics of the Pacers players in the mid-2000s and their recent lack of success.

Having said that, Indianapolis is a much much larger market than Oklahoma City in a basketball crazy state. The Thunder will not be there in 15 years. The other markets Indianapolis's size are struggling as well, and they are drawing from a market about 75% larger than OKC.

Seattle should have an NBA team, Oklahoma City is just not a large enough market to support even a mediocre team. If they never become that obviously they will be fine, but the odds are just against that.
