Did you ever end up going??? If you got the black and white version of walking dead 94 ( the issue came in the bag when you got there) they are going for like 300 on ebay. Just a heads up because mine was sitting on the bottom of my clothes hamper when i found out

Unfortunately, not. I really wanted that variant cover too. I just didn't have the time to drive out there, get tickets, and wait in line to get the comic.

I dropped by a local comic shop that had a mini-sale going on. Finally was able to get the three variant covers of McFarlane's run on Spider-Man along with the pull out cover of Jim Lee's X-Men. These were the two comics that got me hooked to comic books. Both were in really good condition.

Also, I wish Invincible released a lot sooner than once-a-month. =(

Sadly anything from Marvel except the new Daredevil & the Wolverine and the X Men is buns to me.
DC got da upperhand currently. So many good titles out of the new 52.
Batman, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Frankenstein agent of S.h.a.d.e., I Vampire, Flash, Batwing, Demon Knights, Resurrection Man all great books.smiley: pimp
Also dont nobody sleep on the comics from Image. A lot of good new titles. Thief of thieves, Fatale, Morning Glories, Chew............
thief_of_thieves_issue_1_a_p.jpg                       FataleCover.jpg

I wanna get into Image. Any good ones besides the new ones you just named? I like ongoing series.

Besides these from Image Im reading Xenoholics, Whispers, Haunt, Blue Estate, Severed (its finished, written by Scott Snyder).
Out of all image titles I can recommend to anyone Fatale, Thief of thieves, Severed, Morning Glories, Chew.
Also Walking Dead, and from Top Cow (which is part of image) Witchblade, Artifacts.
Those books are really good.

Can someone school me on what's happening in the Marvel Universe that is building up to this monumental image?

That image is part of the Fear Itself storyline...Nothing too much to read into the image, honestly. If anything, the outcome of that storyline is that Wolverine and Cyclops have split. Wolverine, Iceman, Beast, Cannonball, Kitty Pryde and others are now running the new School of Mutants. So think of Cyclops taking the stance of Magneto and Wolverine with the stance of Xavier.

Oh yeah, I read every comic I buy. I'm not into grading each issue and seeing the value of it. I enjoy the writing and the artwork.

exactly.

And I read all my comic books.  I have like 1000 marvel comics i've collected since '91 and I have enjoyed reading every one of them.

I really like that wolverine collection posted above...makes me want to start collecting the oldies again.

prices for comics are so high right now...it doesn't make it worth it in my eyes.

True...$3.99 an issue is starting to get out of hand. Especially with the amount of titles I pull. smiley: tired

it's pretty good it's more organized in terms with storyline than the mainstream ones
everyone's just younger, and MAJOR events happen.
this universe is not shy in killing major players! (well i thought, when they killed off magneto...)

Okay so I've read up to issue 25 of Invincible when does it get good? I love Kirkman's work with TWD but I'm not really connecting with this.

The story isn't all that engaging or compelling, not that funny, and the art isn't the greatest. At times it seems like it's mocking/parody of superhero comics with the knockoff Batman, Rorschach, Flash, etc. characters that make cameos and the even worse villains. There are some real themes and plots established but don't seem to be taken seriously. I'm just not sure what the focus is suppose to be the way most conflicts finish so quickly or are flippantly ended by a villain's stupidity (beings from other dimension that age quickly telling the heroes it's the wristband that keeps them from aging). I also feel Kirkman does way too much cliffhanger scenes or is that suppose to be a joke? Like when somebody finds out they're being cheated on with the "....", "No, no, no no no. NO!" or sometimes when he uses the narration boxes instead of dialogue between characters and just rambles on and anon and on. I get that this is suppose to be a bit lighthearted but it does not invoke any emotion when I read it.

The way I've seen ppl rave about this series in this thread and elsewhere I expected better. Not that I had high expectations but so far this isn't something where I'm eager to read the next issue.

^Keep reading. Trust me. Everything picks up by the third trade, Perfect Strangers.

Very good ending. Definitely surprised with Hit-Girl too. I'll probably be picking up her title when she comes out.

Has anyone read Saga? Just came out last week and it's pretty good. Written by Brian K. Vaughn Check it out.

Can't wait for Hit-Girl and Kick-$## 3

I love that book. So hilarious and entertaining. There's such a great job done of making you believe this is how it'd go down in real life for the most part.

I am pulling a lot of comics...I think I should cut back for now.

How was the latest Justice League? I stopped pulling because I heard Jim Lee isn't doing the artwork. Any reviews?

Also, I just found out that Leinil Yu is Filipino.smiley: pimp Definitely a fan of his artwork...The artwork on next week's Avenging Spider-Man looks awesome.
