I know Nike hasn't released a sample, but is it safe to say that this shoe is already in the works? With his 8th shoe what can we expect to see? High/Mid top, lunar lon, visible Flywire,or maybe Nikes version of Crazy 8's? Is there anything that could be dropped from possibilty of the 7 carrying over to the 8? As the Kobe 7 is nearing the end of its run and Kobe 6's are being clearenced in stores; be on the look out for a sample Kobe 8 soon.

They're probably done with the ZKIX.

@wildcat youd think Nike would follow suit on past trends....but since they have a chokehold on the HYPE market, they are shoving a lot of crap down thirsty peoples.

They need to NEVER EVER GO BACK TO A HIGH OR A MID!!!! Every year should be lighter and lower!!!!! Get back to where they were going with the Kobe 4-6!!! The 7s were a HUGE STEP BACK IN PERFORMANCE!!!! Clunky, chaffed the foot, too high off the ground, bad court feel, actually felt like they made me a step slow! I really hope the 8s get back to pushing the lighter and lower envelope. I don't care what anyone says, I have never felt more secure with the ankle support provided by the Kobe line. There isn't a high or mid shoe that has given me the confidents and lockdown that the kobe 4-6 do. People who think it needs to go back to a mid or a high need to go buy lebrons or jordans if they want that crap IMO. The kobe line is about light and low, let everyone else have high cut shoes that don't do you any good when you roll your ankle. People need to realize, a high will not prevent an ankle roll, or reduce the damage, its a myth!! Sorry for ranting, but man, Kobe 4-6 are the best shoes ever made, they need to get back to that!

someone posted before it's a heel/forefoot zoom with full length cushlon underneath.and still be able to swap midsoles/system.hopefully there is still a full-length zoom option

if that was Nike's concept for future sneaker development...
kobe would be wearing sandals

theres a limit on how light and low a basketball sneaker should be. u also need support and protection. a billion thread of flywire aint gonna help. ask blake griffin

they already released pics didnt they? i saw some i thought. looks similar to the 7 obviously but different shape model

I know that they would release the 8s as a System again. UGH. SMFGDH.
I wish they could go back to the kobe 4-6 system which was a good system. LOL
We need Kobe to come out with the BEST ON COURT SHOES AGAIN.

im all in for the mids, or @least a 3qtr cut like the AJIII's. dont have a problem with lows but its time for a change...

also REALLY wish they'd chill out with the 1 piece uppers. its BEYOND overdone, not only with the kobe line but also with nike basketball in general... the uppers of the bron ix's had several different sections/layers for color placement. think that had alot to do with that shoes success, it just makes for more possibilities...

with that being said, the viii's will be 1 piece upper low tops. count on it...

LIGHTER AND LOWER!!!! if they could get it down to where they were like wearing sandals, thats fine with me!!! I want minimal everything when it comes to a basketball shoe. I want to wear the least amount of shoe as possible. It is possible to go lower and lighter. The Kobe system was terrible! Such a step back in performance. Like I said, if you want a high cut or a mid, go get some lebron james's or some jordans, But Kobes need to push the lighter and lower envelope every year!!!.

can anyone post pics?  curious.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I love the VII, so I hope they keep the system and improve upon the inserts.

Well that's not saying much considering the IV,V, & VI were arguably the best hooping shoes available during their releases.
I don't mind the VIII being a system again. Think about it.

People complained about blistering with the Jordan 2011's as well and they fixed it with the Jordan 2012. I'm guessing the same thing will happen with the VIII.

I'm hoping for something similar to the Kobe IV's. My favorite hooping shoe ever. The design,  the colorways, the ID choices, the traction,
such a sweet shoe.
