2008 Australian Open

I think people finally realize that Roddick just isn't that good. He has the serve but his ground game is below average.

I never thought Roddick was a really great player, but I like him for a few reasons. He has a good serve, but he gets frustrated too easily and that, amongother factors, brings his game down tremendously.

She's still hurt. I think its still that groin injury she battled with all last year.

Oh, right. Thanks. I had forgotten about that.

I knew she wasn't a chick!

But really, chicks can get groin injuries o_o?

^ Was that a serious question?

I've been saying this for years. Powerful serve, but if it gets returned, he's in trouble.

And this is the first year I haven't been all about the Aussie Open as soon as it started; terrible timing for me. Finishing my internship portfolio, mythesis paper, trying to find a job where we're going to be moving, and preparing for moving.

How are Blake, Federer, Sherapova, Davenport, the Williams', and Nadal looking?

Blake- He's been doing pretty well I know he plays against Grosjean in the third round.

Federer- He's looking dominant as usual if Blake takes care of business we'll see a Blake/Federer QF.

Sharapova- She's been pretty dominant but she has Henin in her section of the draw. If she beats Dementieva in the 4th she'll play Henin in the QF

Davenport- I'm impressed that she's back so soon after having a kid. Sharapova destroyed her in the second round. Once she gets her movement togethershe should make a big splash in the summer hard court tourneys.

Venus Williams- V's play has been spotty at best. However ,with V if she makes the second week of a major her game gets really good. She has a tough 3rdround match against Mirza. If V plays consistent and allows Mirza to play that aggressive error prone tennis she likes to play V should get through in straightsets. If V can get it together she should make it to the finals

Serena Williams- Outside of Henin she is playing the best of anyone on tour. She had 15 aces in her match yesterday. That's unheard of in the women'sgame. If she can continue to serve like she has been we should she a Henin/Serena semi.

Nadal- Since the Australian Open courts are new this year they seem to fit Nadal's physical style of tennis. He had a tough first set against Simon butother then that he's looked pretty good. The key with nadal is that he has to continue to get off the court fast because with his style of play the more 5set matches he has the more ripe he is for an upset.

I think so he's scheduled but I have no idea what match ESPN will show.

I'll be tuning in at 10, hopefully to see Blake. I've been a fan of his ever since that HISTORIC US Open he played against Agassi a few years ago.

If there was one tennis match I wish I would have recorded so I could watch it anytime I wanted, it was that one. I had even thought about recording itbeforehand so I could watch it later, just because it was Agassi. And 3 or 4 times during the match, I thought, "Start recording," but I never did.

Me too. Blake is my favorite male tennis player right now. I think Federer is playing tonight, too, so they'll probably show that and check inon Blake. Sadly, I can't watch it tonight.

I'm still watching last night's match. Roddick is having another temper tantrum.

"I'm going to speak very slowly, so youunderstand..." If I were the chair umpire I would have kicked his hat right off his head while he yelled.

I think Blakes gonna have a hard time with Grosjean, Grosjean has a nasty kick serve meaning Blake cant do his all out flat returns. Spadea's playingpretty well too. Thats what i take away from the tournament on the American side. Overall Look for Gasquet to go far, P-H-M to upset Nadal and anotherGrandslam from Roger.

Ps. Djokovic would be a good pick if it was'nt for the Slow paced game that does'nt favor him.

Dang it, just barely got home to turn it on a few minutes ago, and my dude James is down 2 sets to 1, and down 3-1 in the 4th set (Advantage- Grosjean, rightnow).

*edit* Nevermind. 4-1 in the 4th set.

Does this dude ever have a short match?

What's the over/under on amount of times we'll hear about his fifth set record here? I say 40.

James Blake showing why he's one of Nt's favorite tennis players. Dude has tremendous talent.
