Who here plays Golf?

Yeah so much networking. It's Ekwanok CC in Manchester, Vermont. Real secluded and really limited membership

I can't imagine how much you would make down their with that Derby Week

It's mostly just rich old people that don't want anyone famous around but, there's always a few, this summer ; Rush Limbaugh (

), Bill Parcells and Davis Love III

Hustlin on you nice scotty...i really wanted a newpot putter too but cant justify paying 300 bux for a putter. but back to topic golfing is fun. I got my girlto start golfing and now she wants to go every week.

don't play seriously but i like goin to the golfing range. having gone in a little while and i'll probably go when the weather clears up. i got a cardand just keep refilling it so that i can get the golf balls for cheaper. a lot easier than carrying money to the place too.

quick pics of my latest gunner...
%**# the head. you can walk into any spot and peep a g10 so heres just the top....

and of course the battle tested scotty cameron studio stainless newport 2. i bought it on the drive back up from torrey pines after i humiliated myself with my%!%#-tastic putting. damn near tossed the old putter into the ocean but the grip costed too much... btw, iomic putter grip = greatest grip of all time...

IMG_0093.JPG

because i dont like to advertise cameron since the last 3 generations of putters have inserts and feel like trash... also flat black is way easier to see on asunny day then a glossy white...
IMG_0097.JPG

and of course, the greatest grip of all time... 3 wraps please!

edit: btw, if you're in the san diego area and ur into fixies... check out sdfixed.com (sorry for the shameless plug, but i co-built the site and we justmade the stickers u see in the background)

eh. if you're wetting your feet there is no need to drop a load of money.

I love playing. I haven't played in FOREVER, but I'm itching to start again. I'm really bad, but I couldn't care less. I still find itenjoyable.

yo xx3 it's all good. i wouldn't tell you it's the bomb if i wasn't willing to drop knowledge. there are several sized iomic grips(s/m/l). the small one is a LOT like the skinny cameron newport grips (the ones that have cameron stamped on the top, which just fyi, is a copy of the pinggrip that has the ping letters stamped on the top). the difference is on the bottom half. the cameron (and ping grip for that matter), has a sharper U shapealmost to the point that it feels more like a v. the iomic has more of a rounded out u shape. if you like a bigger (girth wise) grip, then you may like midsizegrips which the medium size one (also, the scotty cameron baby-t grip where it has tiny lil t's stamped all over the grip). also, the iomic grips are madefrom silicon and not rubber like most other grips. because its made from silicon, the texture is WAY better and it lasts a lot longer than rubber. aside fromthe skinny feel of the cameron grip, how does it feel in your hands if it was thicker? does the shape fit your hands? if u notice how i said "3 wrapsplease" this is what i meant...

the small grip's shape feels good to me but again is too skinny on the bottom where my fingers wrap.
the medium grip has good girth on the bottom (where my fingers wrap around it), but on the top where my palm is, it's too wide.

so to get a level of comfort on my grip, you just add layers of grip tape to build the grip up. usually more than 3 wraps for a putter grip causes the overallshape of the grip to deform. so i put the max amount of wraps i can, slid the sucker on and now it feels comfortable. i tried to go with a cameron grip becausei had one lying around, but it just didn't feel right in terms of the bottom part (too sharp of a v on the bottom).

oh, iomics are bomb too because u can go crazy on the colors too. but if you tell me what you like and don't like in terms of your clubs, i can generallyput you in the right direction of what you should adjust equipment wise.

edit: iomic grips aren't cheap though just fyi, usually like 18 bucks a piece. but then again, all the golf grip manufacturers are hiking prices of gripsup by about 10-20% so they're actually starting to look good price wise...

I bought my first set of clubs last April. I got them for $200 from #+$#+ Sporting Goods, I guess they're beginers clubs. I've been golfing at leasttwice a month since. I love it.

*Raises hand*

I'm not very good though, I've only broke 100 twice and been playing for like 2 years now

Waiting till I consistently break 100 to get me a set of Callaways, as of right now, using $300 Wilson set

They're doo doo.

I took the Nike Sumo SQ 5000 & 5900 for a spin this morning before work, and I wasn't impressed. The 5000 felt like the head was way too heavy, andwhile the 5900 seemed a bit lighter, I still can't get over that aluminum baseball bat sound

I guess I'll stick with my Ignite 410cc until they come up with something better

^ I did, and I'm still getting 20+ more yards from my Ignite 410cc; granted the G10 only had the stock shaft vs. the prolaunch blue in my Ignite.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with Callaway's Hyper X, that driver does have a nice feel to it.

interesting... does the g10 just fall out of the air for you? it has surprisingly low spin for its shape. so if you're getting that much more yardage, thenyou would probably need some serious fitting. but if you're good on your ignite, then stay with it.

^ Honestly, I can't explain why, but I hit my 410cc about 280-300, but I can't hit any other club farther than 275.

And my numbers are all pretty much consistant with each club I compared it to; from ball speed, club speed, launch angle, etc.

koo. as long as you getting yards you comfortable with and you got the confidence in your driver. keep swinging it. if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

edit: oh but the headcover looks good. i like the new blue!

BgL2867... 916? you in sac? where do you play? im usually at haggin oaks and mather golf course and when im broke im at rancho

k0betw0- Nice info. I was trying to pick up a SC putter Newport last week from some guy used for $150. He was completely legit, but I was unable to meet upwith him on Sunday.
He things I flaked on him, so he backed off on the deal.

Where do you normally buy your equipment? I definitely need new irons, and a blade putter. I am currently using an ION MAC putter, which is good, but the headis to big for me.
