Sometimes I wonder are you just boosting your post count or is your taste really this broad
why would I be boosting my post count? Is there a reward for that?

Yessir! I was checking them out when they dropped on the site. Good price for $1295 too. Plus, I rarely see anybody wearing BV so that's also a nice plus!
they'll probably go on sale for 50% off at the end of the season.

800

Wow. Even if these are snakeskin or python, though they look more like embossed leather with partially carved scales, Balenciaga chose the wrong damn supplier/swatches. For 1000+, you should get the kind of python customizers are building Jordan's out of.

I completely agree. They can go F themselves with the price they are charging. Should be 300 lol

The price is OD. Not gonna front like I wouldn't cop for 6 though. They dropped the ball on red and white pairs too.

Jack Threads has evolved into a regular webstore now, they have plenty of items that are retail price or just a few dollars less off retail price.

Don't let the membership log-in fool you into thinking it's like Gilt or MyHabit.

As for those Balenciaga, I agree that the python pattern isn't the best but I really see no problem with it being $1k+ if it is indeed real python.

I mean if it's real, you won't mind paying in the $600s when the regular plain leather cost $585?

Seriously, I mean look at Rick Owens, their python island dunks or geos can cost 2x-3x the retail price, same with Louboutin.

Again, the pythons pattern isn't my preference but I don't think they "messed up" just because they priced it $1000+, that isn't bad for real exotic skin and others may actually prefer the more consistent pattern.

Is that even a sale? I thought ~400 was what they retailed for.

my bad fellas, Im not entirely aware of the cost of the Y-3 shoes I just posted because like RFX45 said they used to be a discount shop but I guess this is no longer the case.

Was just tryna help out since I see folks talking about em.

bertdinner2 bertdinner2 let us know how that CL purchase from UK goes

But RO/CL actually use good python/snakeskin, at least aesthetically speaking. Even Filling Pieces used premo skins on their trainers, and those were only 300. Even if Balenciaga is using premium snakeskin, the fact that a lot of us were debating whether it was embossed or authentic even after more detailed pics were posted just goes to show that they could've done a LOT better on materials for the price point. Would've preferred that they used FP's python. You generally buy snakeskin for the scaly look, and that translates very poorly in the Arena's.

But those aren't "detailed" pics. I have yet to see a good quality pic of those so called "pythons". It's still those crappy SA pics that apprently has some 10yr old Nokia phones by the quality of pics they take.

I mean for all we know, those pythons are great and cost even more because they had to meticulously pick only the part that has the more consistent pattern?

And those filling pieces are a lesser known brand, everyone knows the bigger brands with history will simply cost more from the name alone. This is a luxury shoes thread afterall. Same goes for Diemme who charged $500+ for their slip-ons. I've never seen those FIlling Pieces pythons in person but I've seen their regular shoes and they aren't that spectacular. And come on, regular Filling Pieces cost $230 (their chukkas actually cost $300 w/o any special exotic leathers) and the pythons cost just $70 more? I highly, HIGHLY doubt that is quality python they are using.

I'm just saying, all those pics are terrible and how many times have the pics that were posted here doesn't do the shoes justice?

I think he's saying the pics are good enough to see that the patern sucks.

Honestly if they were gonna go a more 'consistent' route they should've used a different snake.

But they chose python, if you do that you got to go balls to the wall like CL or the other brands. I don't want my python to be questioned if it's just embossed leather or something. No for 1k+

And I agree that it isn't great, I even said they still haven't produced a good pic of the shoe itself.

I do prefer the other python pattern but it's a choice and really people just feels it's embossed because they know it's python, if they simply said it was snakeskin then no one would question if it's embossed or not. Wear it and people will simply think it's snakeskin, not whether it's embossed python or not.

At the end of the day, you can just view it as a better quality snakeskin? Just like a better quality calf leather used in the shoes in this thread in comparison to the cheap leathers JB uses in their retros?

I mean it is possible to have more consistent python pattern, CLs doing it this season too. Based on the Arena pics we've seen so far and these high quality CL pics, I'd take CL hands down if it were all black but who knows, if the close up of those Balenciagas look like these then I think it'll change peoples mind. Not counting on it but who knows?

Repped! Been looking for that color in a 12 for a minute. On a whim I got the grey pair and when I received them I was very happy with them. The material was amazing and the leather was butter soft. I've seen these with the patent leather around the toe, but wasn't feeling them. I really wanted black and not the red pair i seen on sale at ssense. On top of that they have me 15% more of for signing up. Thanks man :smokin
