STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Most people in here commenting about you using straps just started lifting recently

Bros, I've finally seen what I look like from someone else's perspective. Went to shoot some hoops, brought the camera so I could test out my new tripod. Holy **** I'm fat as ****. Jesus. I played back the film and almost broke down. I need help. What to eat, a proper workout plan. **** that was depressing.

I dont get how people would need a video to see how they look like. You look the exact same as you look in a mirror. Videos are helpful to see movement, form, speed, etc. I video'd myself dunking and was surpised how slow i look like i was moving [emoji]128517[/emoji] [emoji]128517[/emoji] but on how you look bro, why you need a video? Cats be in denial :smh:

Getting a different perspective from videos/pics can paint a slightly different picture than what you see in the mirror.

Not sure if this has been discussed, but I don't have the time to comb through this entire thread to get an answer. So, anyone kind enough to answer will be appreciated.

As I've mentioned before, I'm currently 3 weeks into Jim Stoppani's 6-weeks shortcut to shred program. I've been following the program as close as possible, with a few hiccups here and there. I've missed 2 workouts, and have had a weekend of "bad dieting". But overall, I feel great and have noticed a considerable difference in my conditioning and physique.

The month of Ramadan is quickly approaching and my main concern would be how I would be able to maintain the program while fasting throughout the day. I won't be able to drink or consume any food for as long as the sun is out. Before sunrise, I will wake up to have my meal, which will hold me over until sunset. Subsequently after, I will have my next meal.

Is there anyone out there who've had to deal with something similar? Is it possible to continue? Ideally, I would like to finish the program. Any sort of advice would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion i don't feel it is necessary to even seperate them as with straps and without straps. Nobody uses with chalk and without chalk #s.

With the deadlift it is a given that once you get to a certain point your grip won't be strong enough. I look at it as some use chalk, others use straps (and some use both.)

While knee wraps and being suited is on another level of help.

Quartersquaters are for a good laugh. Especially when they try to rationlize their lack of depth with excuses. Shout out to the quartersquatgang insta.

When the weather got colder I cut off all of my cardio and just focused on weightlifting. Now that I'm running outside again, I'm seeing how out of shape I got

I told myself I'll be doing hill sprints today. Made it up two hills and I stopped. I'll warm up with light jogging for a couple of weeks first

If you quarter squat you should be slapped. Learn to manage the weight before you go big.

I agree with you but the Thing is youre so used to seeing yourself in the mirror, it kinda tricks your eyes. But now if were talking bout gaining massive weight then that's something different.

I recently lost 100 pounds and gained some mass here and there but I still have that gut that ive been carrying for the past 24 years and people say I look swole or something like a bodybuilder, but in my head or when I look in the mirror I'm just a fat piece of **** lol

*Kanye shrug*

Opinion on fat gripzzzzzzz?

Did a farm walk set on the treadmill on incline 3 .... feeling it today

exactly. like i know i got fat but when i look at candid pics my wife took at the beach i'm like holy jeez i'm a fricken whale. i'll probably keep procrastinating until i get diabetus or something and then get forced on a diet.

Lol when I look at myself in the mirror, I'm like - I'm so hot. Yuhh baby.

When I see myself in pics/videos, I'm like - ugly ***, I wouldn't hit.

I'm exaggerating but to an extent, this is truthful.

Im sure some of yall had surgeries and whatnot befofe for injuries. Anyone ever have a CT scan with contrast? Had a CT scan once for my foot without contrast but reading some meh stories online when contrast is used. Its for my abdomen for possible kidney stones. Wasnt even thinking about it as a big deal til I read the whole side effect biz of the dye.

Surprised not just ultrasound, but what's the question about he contrast?

There are 2 types of contrast used in CAT scans. The first is oral contrast. This is used exclusively for abdominal/pelvic CT's, and there are really no side effects. Then, there is IV contrast, which is what I believe you're referring to. Some people DO  have an allergic reaction to this. Most of those people are also allergic to shellfish. So, if you're allergic to shellfish, you may very well be allergic to the IV contrast. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean you can't have it, but you should definitely discuss it with your doctor (pre-medication, alternatives, etc).

Yeah everywhere I read it has said that mild to severe reactions may occur but severe reactions are very uncommon. Im not allergic to anything really, def not shellfish. But it gets me thinking if people discuss alternatives AT ALL to contrast when its uncommon for reactions to begin with, then is it that "bad" to get one (with contrast)?

If t werent a "big" deal then most people should be fine with it, no?

I prolly fall into the "safel category but im being a baby. Im forgetting most people prolly are allergic or most people who get scans are older or arent as good in shape health wise.

Main thing for having it with contrast is a better look. From a health care stand point if your renal functions are good and you have no allergies to the dye you should be good. My patients complain of feeling the burning sensation when the dyes injected but just say it's more so a warmth and not uncomfortable. You should be good bro.

Renal functions? And yeah I have no food allergies and never have gotten an allergic reaction, unless seasonal allergies count. Thanks man.
