"Days of Future Past" - New X-Men Movie Release Date (First Class Sequel)

weird he didn't sound Russian at all. Thanks for the info.
He said "Mystique." And I think all Blink said was, "Time's up." I believe Sunspot had zero lines. Bishop said "Sunpot" and "We can't stop that many." Warpath says "They're here" and I think he said one other thing.

What was really weird is that even though they basically had cameo appearances, when they all died, I was like, "NOOOOO.. but damn, that was a cool death."

Back to Colossus, he sounded American, but he could have just been born in Russia and shipped off to Xavier's school when he was young.

my grip is how powerful magneto is in the films..

and iceman is fighting pyro
but doesn't Emma Frost take Bobby's powers further? So if she's dead/hasn't trained him, he won't be able to realize his full potential

Professor x could have helped him to unlock it.. But if the events of the future didn't give him motivation to do it.. Then I don't think he would be inclined to do it without impending doom coming

There are just so many things to say about this film.

I liked it. It was good. Fox needs to fire their entire marketing dept.

It's just....cotdamn did they try to have it all.

The whole X-franchise, really is a mess.

I mean, they made the best out of a bad situation, but that ending in the X-mansion gave me every Lost finale vibe all over again. :nerd:

As someone who dislikes 99.9% of comic book characters/stories and just watches these movies to kill time on a Sunday, I really liked most of it. Fassbender as Magneto :pimp: :pimp: :pimp: Similar to X Men First Class, I was rooting for him the whole way

I really want to see some new blood injected into the upcoming films. I'm tired of this entire cast. They've been around for 14 years. Their time has long been up. Don't get me wrong Halle Berry and Famke Janssen are still nice to look at but I'm done with them. I never want to see Gandalf play Magneto again. I always thought that was a terrible casting choice. Give me some new actors that can breathe new life into this franchise and make me forget about the past (no pun intended). They have the ability to really make some good things happen here. Please Fox, get it right.

X3 was playing over the weekend and when bobby asked colossus where rogue was he had an American accent.

Enjoyed the movie and is my favorite X-Men film. The balance they had of Wolverine, should have been the balance in the previous films.
I was very happy to see the OG X-Men team back leading the School.
How did Jean look younger in this film???

Very happy that Scott is back and loved his reaction when Logan tried to touch Jean's face and when he acknowledged how glad he was to see Scott.

Quick question: So Logan forgot everything from 1973 on...So how did he come to that point where he realized that he forgot all that has happened? Did he just go on with his life and then had deja vu? This may be a simply answer...I'm just trying to figure out that part of the movie.

yeah but it isn't until Emma takes over his body that he learns of his latent powers. So currently, he isn't aware he's a badass.

His mind was just transported back to the time it was supposed to be in. He only remembers the future he came from and what his life was before he made those particular changes in the past. Kitty and everyone else were killed so there was nothing keeping his mind linked to the past. He just jumped to alternate future.

It's a warm up. Has to be.

He's reading thru the thread, collecting thoughts, multi-quotes, and then he'll MrO us. Be patient.

Who was that blue guy they showed in the desert with the hood?

Sorry if thats a spoiler..

Review? Nah, it's just...I don't even really know how to talk about it.

Like how horrible was this marketed? This was an all-around decent movie. They must've lost a cool $100M just off their movie looking like trash in all the trailers, posters, commercials and ads. Quicksilver's outfit, any scene of J-Law talking, the Power Rangers looking future scenes, Beast-Hulk, the Wolverine show and young Xavier cuttin a WWE promo. I would not blame anyone, who wasn't a diehard for the originals or First Class, just waiting for Redbox off the promos.

Everything turned out good enough in the context of the movie. And even though there was a ton of reaching and a lot of ridiculous, for such a complicated story, emotionally, the whole thing flowed okay. And if you think about it, almost nothing really happened in the movie, but it was good fun, and just about all the parts I thought wouldn't be good were good.

I liked Quicksilver and the future battle scenes. I'm just gonna need to digest it some before I try to review it. Like...I keep going back and forth between it being a mad stupid movie on par with Transformers, or if it's all good...nothing really annoyed me on an X3 level, and if you just stop caring too much, the next one should probably be better? And at least they hit some good emotional moments and the movie flowed? Iono.

If you're gonna reboot the movies, reboot the movies. Throw everything else away. Don't half do it and play hopscotch with what does and doesn't matter. Don't say none of the og trilogy matters...except now it's all changed...except you get to keep your favorite parts...except it only works if you don't remember any of the old movies too well..

When you think about it, Singer was on point with X1-X2. They were good. They led to more.

He leaves, and Ratner kills everyone, and Jackman has to take over with his origin films.

Then Vaughn saves them with First Class, Fassbender, McAvoy, and Lawrence.

Now Singer is back, and did wonders here. He's 3 for 3 in X films. If he rights a few more wrongs in Apocalypse, suddenly the franchise is stable and ready to move on with a younger core cast.

He just needs to lay off the teenage boys a bit. So, dicey.

Well...here's my thing. You can almost feel Fox creeping over the writer's shoulder. Way back when they said they were doing a time travel X-Men, all I thought was, okay they're gonna make X3 never happen, because that's the source of all their problems. But then we get this. And this is a lot more of a mess than it ever had to be.

You go back to right after X2, you stop the cure from happening, you get to make your new X3 or X4 or whatever. Except Fassbender, McAvoy and Lawrence are an upgrade from Stewart, McKellen and Romijn, so we ain't ever coming back to the "present." Fine...cool...you're doing that deep mind scrub. Wipe all the OGs out. But you don't. My guess? Because you still wanna sell those movies in the boxset together. That last scene...I keep goin back and forth on whether it was a nice sendoff or just broke the story a little more.

If you're gonna go back to the 70s, you're gonna change history, have the mutants announce themselves 30 years early, Nixon, all that? Have sequels that don't need to be shackled by the OG trilogy? Cool. I'm down, tell me when the next one comin. Just let the originals go. Don't have that swansong where we see Famke, Marsden, Stewart all back together...and then hey, there's Anna Paquin and the whole gang.

That is so completely the Lost finale all over again. Taking a nice sweet emotional bow, even though everything is logically ****** and you're politely asking everyone to not worry about any of the details or remember anything you've seen or heard before too clearly.

I think DoFP is better than X2, because DoFP ripped apart X2...and X1...X3, The Wolverine and X-MO:W. And it cut out chunks of half of First Class as well. Now that's fine, if that's the story you wanna tell, but where they tried to give a nod to all those things, it felt like they were outlining how much time and money everyone wasted watching their other movies. Had they gone all in in either direction, I could've respected it more.

This is the swansong to the OG trilogy? Give me a lot more future scenes.
You're rebooting? Don't even nearly bring up the other movies, it'd just be dragging their corpses on the pavement.

Do you buy Apocalypse being set in the 80's with the First Class cast?

So no need to worry about old Jean, Scott, Storm as they can be recast to join Fass, McAvoy, and JLaw, and we already accept Jackman never ages and can blend in with them.

In theory, that works, right?

I really wonder what Vaughn would have done with it.. I really wish he got the chance to start with a clean slate

I saw in the video posted that Vaughn planned to start with the assassination of JFK

After hearing the positive reviews I decided to give this movie a chance. It wasn't bad but all I kept thinking as I left the theater was why not reboot the franchise and just start fresh? Instead they mashed both First class with present X-Men and tried to make the best of both timelines within a screwed up X-Men movie universe that Fox has created. Sort of like trying to fix 2 flat tires on a bike with no pedals. If this was meant to be a X-Finale to try and put closure to the whole thing with plans on a "real" reboot after DOFP then the movie would've served it's purpose. But the scene after the credits just confirmed that this X-Men installment of the franchise is not over. So whichever direction they decide to take this it's still going to carry those inconsistencies and screw ups from the past X-Men movies. Unless we fool ourselves and "pretend" some of these movies never happened. :rolleyes

As for the movie itself, it's one of the better X-Men films they've put out. Fassbender did a terrific job and Quicksilver was pretty awesome (minus the outfit and hair). Wolverine having his metal claws again got no explanation and Professor X's return was just overlooked left for us to come up with our own assumption as to how that happened. Beast getting his Hulk on didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Still wasn't felling the look of the future Sentinels and it felt like they cheated us out of the past Sentinels with only a handful in action. Surprisingly, I did enjoy this movie more than ASM2 though. But that ain't saying much.

I enjoyed the movie very much.

I'm not a comics kinda guy, so whether the storyline stayed true, I do not know.

What I don't get is...

what's up with the last scene where Mystique takes the form of Stryker? Does this mean that it was Mystique who gave Wolvie the adamantium? Are we going to get another Wolvie movie that is showing the time lapse from the 70's to the present?

I hope this new timeline doesn't lead to 4 more Wolverine movies.  Or anymore Wolverine movies....

So many other mutants need to get their shine on, but great casting is the start.

I was checking some notes on my tumblr post, and someone made a great point. If they would have just left Magneto in the Pentagon and taken QS with them to apprehend Mystique, the movie would have been done in an hour. lol
