The Walking Dead - Official Thread

STOP with the spoilers. Go to the comic book thread with that garbage. We don't care that you read them.

How did anything get spoiled when IT WAS ON THE TELEVISION SHOW?  I'll wait.

lol at the complaining over stuff that was shown on the show

Someone gets it.

also, upon second viewing of the season/episodes before a new episode airs, it might become apparent that these clues were right in our face. we may even be able to piece them all together before the antagonist is presented.

but don't act like a casual view (i.e. most of this TV SHOW thread) will pick up on these clues without any other help like comic storyline knowledge. :rolleyes

i admit that spoiler on the last page even has me feeling stupid that i didn't pick up on it, but that's because i'm a casual viewer who hasn't read the comics. you gotta be alert and aware and an avid series watcher who naturally catches onto these kinda things to notice stuff like that. why would a casual viewer deduce what a wolf is other than a warning to a dangerous animal (if they even caught that graffiti)? sounds dumb, i know.

there might not be a group called the wolves in the comics, but y'all know damn well what y'all are doing. :smh: someone already spoiled it last week or the week before, and i read the link. but i was hoping it wouldn't be brought up again, yet here we are.

i'm not gonna get mad, though, cause then y'all will get defensive and act like we don't have a reason to be rustled. take ya *** to the book thread, man. no one cares that you can/like/want to read.

Again, how is discussing stuff that was IN THE TELEVISION SHOW considered a spoiler?  So because other folks didn't catch it, those who did can't say anything?

Yes, I watch each episode a couple of times.  No, I didn't catch the graffiti the first time.  But I eventually did.  So now I can't say anything about it in a thread about the show?

There is no group called "The Wolves" in the comic.  So again, what got spoiled??  You dudes are ridiculous.

i'm not disagreeing with you in that it's not a spoiler. not if you watched the episodes more than once and picked up on the clues. it's on the show, you're right.

but now what? not everyone knows this. and you didn't even bother presenting this info in a non-spoiling way. there's ways you could've brought this up without completely stumping others. soon as you mentioned wolves someone questioned wtf you were talking about. are these guys without reason? you're trippin, fam.

yeah, the wolves aren't in the comics but they are the tv adaptation of what IS in the comics, like a lot of things on the show that don't line up precisely with the comics. i mentioned that. it's not ridiculous. someone posted a link to an article that discussed this. i clicked, i read and now i'm aware. even moreso now that you brought it up again, when you didn't have to.

Again, why can't it be mentioned when it was in the show?  NOTHING about the future of the show was spoiled.

This is a thread about TWD show, correct?  I discussed stuff from the show and stated that W = wolves, based on what was on the show.  Claiming that has nothing to do with anything other than the show.

So again, what was spoiled?

I'm not gonna catch a 2 second glimpse of some signs that read "wolves" no matter how many times they throw it at me.

Stop crying, sir.

Here are some obvious clues that WERE IN THE SHOW.  EVEN IF YOU NEVER READ THE COMICS, IF YOU PAID ATTENTION TO THE SHOW, THESE ARE THINGS YOU COULD REASONABLY DEDUCT FROM IMAGES ON YOUR TELEVISION.

But I'll put it in a spoiler so your ***** *** can stop ******* crying.

Episode 509 where Tyrese dies:  CLEAR AS ******* DAY, there is graffiti on a brick wall in Noah's old subdivision that says "wolves not far".

In the same episode, remember all those walker torsos that they found?  Yeah, they all had the "w" carved in their foreheads.  Does this sound familiar to something you watched tonight?

Oh, and on their drive to Noah's old neighborhood, the camera pans to "wolves not far" tagged on a barn that they passed (I didn't notice this one when I first watched the episode, but it's there).

So did actual animal wolves cut up walkers in Noah's neighborhood, or could it possibly allude to a new threat?

Episode 512:  again, CLEAR AS DAY, Coooooorrrrrl picks up a comic and it says "Wolf Fight" on the back of it.  The way the camera catches it, it seems pretty obvious that they wanted you to see it.  Foreshadowing?  Connecting the dots between the "wolves not far" graffiti and carved w's in episode 509?

Episode 513, tonight's episode:  again, a walker with a "w" carved in its forehead.

Do the math man.  If you pay attention to more than yambs on this show and stop watching it just to nitpick all the inconsistencies, you might actually notice little clues like this.  Even without reading the comics.

You a monumental lame for this B.

You know damn well that even acknowledging those clues (yes I figured the W denoted another group, possibly the exiles) nothing was said or shown that completely confirmed this as the case.

Certainly nothing was specifically said about the wolves.

Next time keep your ******* mouth shout and exhibit proper thread etiquette. Stop acting like a petulant child and admit you're wrong.

u right.

I can understand not noticing the graffiti of the word Wolves but yall damn sure should have seen the W's carved in the zombies heads that fell onto the windshield before Tyreese died

I think everyone should relax though because in the end superblyTRIFE is simply GUESSING what's on the horizon, none of this is in the comic

W could've meant anything. Nobody, not even you would've known what it meant specifically without having read the comic.

Is there another group tho in the comics?

Is there an Alexandria? Are there exiles?

You originally said it would fit in with the comic storyline so you still have the ability to look for certain things non comic readers would know to look for.

If you know there is another group then you're not so focused on the dialogue or action, my bet is that you're rather focusing on the smaller more subtle details.

And isn't that the point?  Do you want the writers to spoonfeed you everything and spell it out in simple terms for you?  Throwing clues out there is a part of storytelling, whether you catch them or not.

Thank you!  Based on the episode where Tyrese dies, it isn't a stretch that the w's on the zombies could = wolves.  And I stress "could" because I'm not a TWD writer and I have no clue where they're taking the show.

Why would I spoil the comic for you?

And I originally said that IN A SPOILER.  So you're mad about me spoiling stuff (which I didn't) because you read a spoiler?  Seems legit.

For what it's worth, I read the compendiums literally over 2 years ago over a span of 2-3 days.  Basically I forgot 90% of the story because I crammed so much of it into a few days.  So no, I'm not watching for smaller details.  I'm being entertained as you are.  I will say that when I re-watch the episodes I am paying more attention though.  I'm a fan.  *shrugs*

Wait, so dudes are getting mad at dudes with higher intellect catching things in their multiple viewings of the show, then getting angry and calling said higher being a bunch of names because he's speculating on some W's carved into some zombies' heads?

When the group isn't even in the comic? You do realize people in the thread can discuss things other than Rosita and Rick getting the yams. Take a look at ANY other TV thread. Happens in all of em.

Y'all the type of fools to fail a multiple choice context clue test and blame the teacher for it.

Yeah... Yall probably didn't watch any True Detective or Breaking Bad..

I watch episodes once. I let other people watch it 2-3 times and do all their pausing and screen capturing. If they don't do that they probably just go on sites like reddit that already does all of that stuff.

AMC's 'Walking Dead' Prequel Lands Two-Season Order

It's official: AMC is moving forward with its Walking Dead companion series in a major way.

The top-secret drama, which went through the pilot process with the title of Cobalt (and Fear the Walking Dead), will join the flagship series on the network as the cabler continues to focus on scripted fare. In addition to ordering the pilot to series, AMC has preemptively renewed the drama for a second season. The first season will consist of six hourlong episodes — just like the flagship series did. The drama will premiere on AMC in the "late summer," with season two set for 2016.

Robert Kirkman, who created The Walking Dead comic series, co-wrote the pilot with Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy). Kirkman and Erickson exec produce alongside Walking Dead's Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert. Erickson serves as showrunner, while Adam Davidson directed the pilot. Walking Dead VFX guru Greg Nicotero will also exec produce the series.

While AMC has been tight-lipped on the series' premise, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the drama is a prequel that takes place in Los Angeles at the onset of the zombie outbreak. AMC on Monday confirmed that the companion series is set in Los Angeles but revealed nothing more beyond that it will focus on new characters and storylines. The drama is still untitled.

Cliff Curtis (Gang Related) stars as Sean Cabrera, a teacher who shares a son with his ex-wife. Sons of Anarchy's Kim Dickens is set to co-star as Nancy, a guidance counselor who works at the school with Sean and is seeing him romantically. Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) co-stars as Nancy's son Nick, who has battled a drug problem. And Alycia Debnam Carey (Into the Woods) is set as Nancy's ambitious daughter Ashley, who is the polar opposite of Nick and has dreams of leaving L.A. for Berkeley when the apocalypse strikes.

The Walking Dead companion — first announced in September 2013 — could give AMC a zombie drama in every quarter, given the six-episode freshman season's summer bow. The flagship, which resumes production in the summer, airs the first half of its season in October and the second half in February. The offshoot series comes as The Walking Dead evolved to megahit status. The zombie drama, overseen by showrunner Scott M. Gimple, ranks as TV's No. 1 drama series among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic.

“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the No. 1 show on television. From the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did 'turn.' Through this new series, we’re going to find out,” AMC president Charlie Collier said in making the announcement Monday. "Robert Kirkman, Dave Erickson and their writing team, along with an incomparable set of producers, cast and crew have created something remarkable and clearly distinct. We respectfully follow the request of Monty Python as we bring out (the latest of) our Dead.”

“We feel empowered by this two-season commitment, a serious show of faith from our network partner AMC,” Kirkman said. "I personally take it as a sign that they believe, like we do, that we've accomplished our goal of developing something original that can pay tribute to the original show and expand the world I created while at the same time having something new to say with this story. I’m very grateful that we now have the opportunity to tell this amazing story and show the fans that we really haven't scratched the surface yet when it comes to The Walking Dead.”

AMC Global — the cabler's international network, has acquired the international televisions rights to the series, which it will air within 24 hours of the U.S. premiere — something Fox International Channels does with the flagship series.

The new series comes months after AMC opted to focus on original scripted fare and ditched nearly all of its unscripted programming (save for Comic Book Men and Talking Dead). It joins a roster of dramas including the fifth and final season of Hell on Wheels, Halt & Catch Fire, Turn, Better Call Saul (already renewed for a second season), Badlands (due in late 2015/early 2016), Humans and Night Manager as the network looks to its future beyond Mad Men.

On the pilot side, the network has Afghanistan drama White City and controversial comics adaptation Preacher in the works. The latter, which recently earned a pilot pickup, is in consideration for 2016.
