Nintendo Thread: Nintendo Direct Mini 03/26/2020

Well according to the dude's sources there are 4 games coming out on launch or really close to launch and are all ports. Smash, Splatoon, Mario Maker, and Zelda. He alsl talked about Luigi's mansion 3 in development and then you have other leaks saying Pikmin 4, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Metroid.

So you have all those 1st party games (also some new IP according to a source) and then the rumored titles from Square, Ubisoft, Namco, and with leakers saying that the NX is very easy to develop for and port to, there are many other 3rd party games that could end up there.

In 10 days Nintendo has their fiscal year earnings release/information meeting with investors and that is also where they say what's in the future so everyone is assuming that they're gonna announce something about the NX then, whether it be a date for the reveal, a formal name, or whatever so I'd keep that date on the radar.

Also @nawghtyhare I meant superb 1st party titles just based on their past titles that Nintendo has released, not that anything is confirmed to be released lol.

Anybody here ever buy dbz extreme butouden for 3ds? I passed initially but there was a patch a couple days ago that added a couple new modes including online. Picked out up and it's addicting, bought my homies copies also to beat on em.
It's on sale on the eshop now btw

Thanks for bringing this up. I knew I had to go to Best Buy this weekend for something, but I swear couldn't remember what for.

The Wii sucked but at it least it sold a ton for Nintendo

The library was ok too

My Wii U I only play Smash and Mario Maker if I don't feel like playing PS4

Library isn't great

Nah they are all good games
And really great
Just man none of my friends have it
It's hard even getting these folks in the thread in the same page and get a few games in
Playing randoms is cool
But playing with ur friends is better
But with only one gamepad and everyone else using some other form of a controller sucks
I didn't mean I don't play my Wii u
Just that it doesn't get as much play anymore
My xbox gets the most play
Then my Wii u
And then my ps4
Is REALLY the one collecting dust
I only turn it on to update the firmware or download the free ps+ games
Check the NT community posts and peep tombrady going ham with his posts
Then I cut it off

Eh it helped but the GameCube was also cheaper than everything else, was more powerful and had a great first party and still sold bad. The Wii was something different and a fad( don't mean that in a bad way). Motion controls just worked with what they were doing. Wii sports is still fun to this day

Kinda in the same boat with my X1. The last game I played was Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's actually in my son's room now. I was gonna get Quantum Break but I'll probably wait for Black Friday. The only Xbox game I'm really looking forward to is Gears 4.

As for Nintendo, I'd happily get the NX if they port those games over and give me a "regular" controller. Also give me a new Mario 64 clone and I'd be good for a while.

From Emily Rogers (apparently she has a good track record with Nintendo)

Instead of focusing our attention solely on hardware, we should really be having a discussion about NX’s software. Based on things I’ve heard, I am 100% confident that the NX’s software output will blow away the Wii U’s software output (which was never impressive to begin with). In a single year, the NX will build a larger library of games than Wii U produced in three or four years.

This isn’t some hyperbolic statement. This isn’t speculation nor blind optimism. These aren’t my personal fan wishes either. Furthermore, my negative feelings toward the Wii U have zero influence on any of the information mentioned below.

Here is what I’ve been told by my sources close to Nintendo:
The big fundamental focal point (and overall goal) behind NX is to vastly increase the software output from Nintendo’s first party teams and studios.
To accomplish this, the entire process of how Nintendo develops and produces software has gone through radical changes.
There is a new strategy that was put in place to create and release first party software at a faster rate.
Multiple unannounced Wii U projects were moved over to NX.
The NX could potentially see the highest output of first party software in the company’s history. (I’m talking about the entire lifespan of NX. Not just one or two years.)

I'm down with the NX. Had a feeling Zelda would be ported over. It'll end up being a launch title. Add MK8 to the mix and I'm giving Nintendo big dollars on day of release.

Any word yet on backwards compatibility with peripherals?
