Not sure which FTL you're thinking of in SoHo (maybe your thinking of the new 14th street FTA)....NTNY will have a sizable stock but it's also the latest of the releases (10a compared to 8a for Flight23 and FTL). If you have a game plan for NTNY (stake out spot early) and ITS NOT CANCELLED because of the crowd then you should be good.

Basically NTNY leaves you without a backup plan should anything go left while other options in the city can give you some back up options.

Yeah the footstores and boutiques (KithNYC - Manhattan and Brooklyn locations, ExtraButter, AtmosNYC, et al) have an 8am release time. While talking to the GM at the new Footlocker on 34th street for the 'grand opening' he noted the POS system doesn't allow for a sale before 8am. Niketown has a 10a drop and 21Mercer (NikeLab) has an 11am drop...I also believe Dover Street Market (which has a NikeLab agreement) is in the later camp of releaes times - 10a I believe (folks who do drops at DSM can confirm).

Mine wore off on my Uptempos while wearing Nike Dri-Fit socks, after the first wear too.
