Bulls offseason Thread

What's wrong with that? Season doesn't start until October so of course he's still gonna rehab to make sure he's a 100%.

What should he be doing this off season ?

Playing not rehabbing. He should have rehabbed that whole year. Trying to overcome those fears maybe? That's done by getting out there n playing the game. I doubt he still needs to rehab if the doctor cleared him to play nba games in like may.

Let's be real.

I hear you, I wouldn't be too concerned. If the season started today I'm pretty sure he would be out there on the court.

Would you guys rather have the 11th pick in this year's draft or a top 3 pick in the 2016 draft? I think the Bobcats have improved just enough so that we may get their pick this year. And with a draft this talented, two first round picks + Mirotic (assuming no other deals are made) would be a nice off-season.

Definitely 2 in the 14 draft... and I'd be trying to move Mirotic. He's not coming over until he's out of the rookie scale and then its going to cost us at least 5mil per. Sorry but I don't believe in foreigners making that jump and being that good. Sure there's Dirk and Rubio but there's also Darko & Bargs, odds are that he'll be more within the latter's range than the former.

If we use both picks and Mirotic as trade bait to move up. Who do think we should target? How high in the draft can we move up?

why we talkin about nxt years draft????? lets focus on the now and gettin this chip man

I'm with you, I think we have enough to contend this season. Can we improve? Of course. But as Thibs would say, "we have more than enough to win." I think we're underestimating the boost Jimmy will give us at the 2 spot in the starting lineup and the expected improvement from Rose from having so much time to work on his game.

Cant front, im excited to see the changes to Derricks game and the improvements in Jimmy's game. I know Jimmy will reach his potential no matter what his ceiling may be, which i love, you know hes going to put the work in.

Speaking of this year, its put up or shut up with Taj for me this year.

I cant lie my excitement kind of died, I know rose will be back doing his thing and I expect a big boost from jimmy but I feel we headed down the same path, our bench as constructed will not serve us well and we will be complaining again why the starters play such heavy minutes. Every team needs that instant offense off the bench where the **** is ours. I wanna see them boys get a ring this year

I hope you are right. I felt the same way until I got wind he is still rehabbing.

Yeah spreights would have been a cool pick up since he is an all around guy who likes to play D, board, scrap, shoot, watch etc; Warriors got a little better, smh

So it looks like LMA really wants to be traded to Chicago, and the org is supposedly considering it.

Who would you guys give up on the squad to get LMA? What about Jimmy, CHA Pick, plus Mirotic rights?

We can't give up Jimmy unless they give us Matthews back.

Nobody wants Booz so I think it would Deng, Cha pick, Mirotic type of package.

if they wont take boozy it will have to be lu,miro, cat pick possible money to even it out

jimmy is totally out the question & portland shouldnt even try to get him from us unless they giving up batum &/or matthews

Boozer and LMA still have 2 years left on their deals, correct?

yep & the money is almost the same too

.......

posted this in the offseason thread might as well put it here too

Damn, still no deal for Nate

the deal fam wants isnt out there...i kinda expect him to come back to the chi

any team that can give him the multi yr deal he wants & pay him is a bottom feeder...no contender will do it IMO

also hes been passed around so to say & Thibs has been the only coach to keep him focused & get the most out of him

so unless he wants to start for the cats & get free jordan PE's im thinking he will come back to the red n blk table to talk turkey

at this point to me

Derrick, Jo, Jimmy are untouchable IMO

the 1st 2 being a given

but if that article is true they are pondering swapping la for JO

**** THAT ****

hang up the ******g phone gar... only way they get j buckets is if they are giving back wes & nick ..which i think those 2 are on thier untouchable list

"And to that notion from the Bulls perspective: No. And hopefully that 'one league source' Sam mentions above is incorrect when he says the Bulls are even pondering it. Even if it was a straight swap without the Bulls throwing in Butler or other assets: Noah is the same age, Aldridge makes more and is a FA a year sooner, and it's not even clear that Aldridge is actually better than Noah when factoring Joakim's importance to the Bulls defense. Furthermore, in terms of team construction it just doesn't make sense for a contending team to try for a slight talent-base improvement if it creates the need for immediate other moves. The idea should be to have those two bigs in tandem.

[the only compelling 'trade Noah' case I can even consider could be if the Bulls determined he is an irredeemable injury risk...]

And maybe it could be that simple, and that's where the Bulls and Blazers ended talks. But what hopefully happens during the course of the season is the situation changing to where the Blazers will relent for a combination of assets and cap relief instead. BlazersEdge recently didn't seem like (from their fan perspective) that it was to that point yet, saying that nothing outside of Noah (or Rose) would even mildly interest their Blazers. But I'd think if Aldridge made it clear he had no interest in staying in Portland beyond the 2014-15 season the Bulls offering a combination of Butler, first-round picks (including one owed from Charlotte), the rights of Nikola Mirotic or other recent draftees would generate some interest. As BlazersEdge even said, that's the usual course for an All-Star trade.
