I think it's cause he's not even around many white people and he stays in spots with only spanish it's where he's comfortable, doubt mr "hood" has ever resided in places with a majority white population so maybe he's never experienced it

barely white or black folks in my hood, i speak English only here on NT & at work, my hispanic Washington Heights is an prime example not worrying about "da white man" boogieman and just doing you & be great.

identity politics of "blame da white man for everything wrong with me" doesn't fly out here...aint none around

some of ya need to stop worrying about what da next person thinks of ya period & live ya lives.

i applaud da black folks who ive heard echo that sentiment.

Bravo to you.

Some of us work in industries where you have to get out of your cultural cocoon. You best believe I'm gonna check out the surrounding areas for suspect behavior if I have to settle in a 95% white area for work purposes.

After all, White folks do the same when they move to the South Loop in Chicago and nobody bats an eye.

NYC was created by unbridled capitalism hush your mouth.
and if it wasn't for da "scary" white man my moms wouldn't of been allowed citizen & i wouldn't of been born here..

u sound like a bitter leftist loon that can even admit that their is also black supremacists as well as radical groups from all walks.

u should tattoo "blame da white man" on ur forehead..cuz thats all that comes outta ur mouth.

Congratulations, you have reached a new level of ignorance. I didn't think you could possibly get any worse but you've done it. Bravo.

"Unbridled capitalism" would have you living on the street/outside NYC or paying the market rate for your place.

so because people are disgusted with da status quo in politics they're "politiphobes"

da whole "isms" & "phobias" has been thoroughly abused by da PC crowd  :smh:
you read the whole article i assume?

Ninja lives on of the most unique cities in the world, where it robust liberal policies allow him and people like him to not feel the full burnt on white supremacy. And even when white supremacy is practiced within the city, he makes excuses for it, or to take it further, claim it is what's best for minorities. "Da stop and frisk" ain't racist b

Furthermore, his economic well being propped up by one of the most dysfunctional, market distorting forms of welfare their is.

Da irony of this ole situation is that his life has been made possible by ideologies that live on the left of the political spectrum, yet he deludes himself that he relates more to wealthy white men. And adamantly defends, a the system of white supremacy that would like nothing more than see his *** stripped of his rent control, and shipped backed to want ever island he came from.

You ain't a free thinker, flourishing capitalist, or unique intellectual. You're just another lost black man campaigning for butter biscuits in some of the most asinine ways I have ever seen.

You have no idea what capitalism even is, last time you brought this up, you ran away when people checked you.

I'm not shading white people, I am shading white supremacy. The reason I'm so annoying to you is because your lack of knowledge on so many things much makes my points go over your head. So you stay quoting one line of my posts to attack with nonsense. Hence Beyonce

Nothing I say is an indictment against the white race as a whole, of white Americans as a whole.

My entire point was that liberal policies and ideologies, lead by a lot of white liberals, makes possible the life you enjoy so much.

Hispanics are also affected by systemic racism and white supremacy. Just because you don't believe in it and/or fail to grasp the concept doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Suggesting those who acknowledge these issues are "blaming da white man for everything wrong with them" is incredibly ignorant and once again proves you don't have the slightest idea of what you're talking about.
Because of your race, if you are convicted of a crime you will most likely get a much more severe punishment than a white man who committed the exact same crime. Your race puts you at a disadvantage in the job market because even with the exact same resume, whites receive much more callbacks than minorities.
And where you live, your race makes you far more likely to be stopped and frisked due to racial targeting.

how about dont dont bad & u won't open Pandora's box to find out.

i don't care what da white man does or his advantages, im worried my doings & my advantages.

thats why im doing great. if i walked around all day thinking about why is lebron younger than me and is a 6'7+ multi-millionaire basketball star or "Blake" a random white person was born into a country club family with a silver spoon in his mouth and not me
id be mad too

"life is not fair, was never supposed to be fair", and "you go to war with da army you got" is thing ya should come to grips with better.

i praise da most high for being where i am now vs being a cat in DR dirt poor with a tin hut & aluminum roof.

perspective is everything.

If you want to be selfish go ahead but don't dismiss real and complex issues that have a significant detrimental effect on society as fantasy.

"systemic/structural racism" is a partisan talking point. my favorite left leaning (but fair) show said so as such, i already linked it here so u can excuse me with that.

Public transit (get your own horse/car/bike/feet)

The electric grid (get your own gas-powered generator)

Expressways/roads (clear your own path through the woods)

Public education (if you can't pay your way through school, there are always factories to work in/fields to tend to)

Emergency services (get yourself to the hospital, catch whoever burglarized your house)

Public libraries (buy your own books)

Bridges (get your own boat or swim)

Edit: I'm illustrating Rusty's point, which you seem to have missed.

BTW, I grew up in the capital of a poor country, and most of the things in parenthesis are things that I and many of my peers had to do without / didn't take for granted (particularly libraries, public transit, decent highways, reliable electricity and reliable, potable tap water. Many nights I did my homework with candles or oil lamps because of blackouts).

If you ask me what a true capitalist society looks like (a swim-or-sink society that the right loves to advocate for), I'd point my country long before I point the US and NYC.

none of which existed in 1905 from a public standpoint, most if not all was private investment..try again.

and also dont conflate big L liberalism/progressiveness from basic government services.

Rent control is a basic government service?

And many of the public good and services we once enjoy were at one time provide by private companies and were later taken over by the government (rail systems).

Or could be provided by the private sector, but are not for efficiency reasons.

Personal incredulity

Just because YOU can't comprehend something doesn't mean that it isn't real

Ninja, if you're doing so well, move out of your rent control appartment so a family who actually needs and deserves it can move in.

So you and your mom pay full market rent for your apartment?

Nice try.

What you mean is that you're grandfather into the system, and the policy was abandoned because is was proven to be a failure. It misses its public policy goal, there is a huge free rider problem, and it is extremely distortionary.

I'm big on housing programs, but you're the beneficiary of one of the worst ones. Yet you wanna tell lower folk that would benefit greatly from rent control, and people that want to help them, that life is unfair. Deal with it.

And I find it funny you have to go wayyyy back in history to cherry pick housing projects, because you know that in today's NYC, the government is really much involved in markets and providing services. You even know this yourself.....

Ninja, what three major policy differences would you enact in order to push GDP growth over that crucial three percent mark?

*cracks fingers*

-Energy independence Give out TONS of federal leases to companies for exploratory reasons for energy... Sure da markets are down now, thats cuz opec is purposely drowning American companies, and green light keystone, and END da war on coal.

-da decriminalization & legalization of marijuana & hemp... Complete no brainer..da Colorado tax coffers are booming

-infrastructure spending...i live on NYC streets, nuff said.

-lower corporate taxes and incentivize on shore manufacturer jobs.

-Immigration also boosts GDP...too bad it became a political football :smh:

-Repealing Obamacare and other oppressive regulations...alot of people i know dont even get 40 hours a week anymore :smh:

Let capitalism capitalize....

If u wanna go on a libertarian bender:

Legalize everything & anything & tax/regulate it.

rent control doesn't exist anymore, so while ya crying about that and let's say i accept a handsome sum to be bought out of my arrangements (cuz rent control isn't a government handout idiots, its a grandfathered contract) da next person would pay market rate and i would be cackling to da bank with my $ and either retire to a home i already have in DR or buy a house in Jersey or Longisland.

so, where in this logically conclusion do i lose? :nerd: i dont leave ny hood cuz its a Dominican paradise in NY :pimp:

I'll give you expressways, even though roads were already a thing before 1905 (and they were public).

Considering that "basic government services" are for all to enjoy regardless of people's ability to purchase access to those services, I don't think they would be possible in the unbridled capitalism scenario you believe NYC was born out of.
