Pence isn't the one Democrats need to be afraid of though. That evil piece of **** will never survive a Republican primary; he's ruined his state and is running on the coattails of the most unpopular presidential candidate in history.

Rubio is probably the golden-boy for the Republicans in 4 years, as long as he doesn't commit career suicide.

Nah.

Pence is pleasent, presidential and is able to make unpopular Republican policies sound semi palatable. He's as conservative as they come, if Trump gets blowed out the Republican party will be looking for the opposite of Trump.

Rubio is also an option, but he comes up small under pressure. He'll choke under pressure.

^Rubio already committed career suicide. See him getting roasted by Christie and washed by Drumpf in his home state. It's a wrap man. That Chris Christie debacle was unimaginable.

Realistically the only option I see for them is someone like Rand. They'll either go more libertarian or die off.

I think Rubio could come back from that but he's proven time and time again he is a choke artist.

I mean his debate performance, getting desperate making fun of Trumps hands and ****.

and rememebr his state of the union address when he had to get water?

Dude is a mental ******, he's not making it though a primary season.

Pence [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] this guy out here saying the things he wished da Don would say.
Van Jones said it perfectly, the candidate Pence was talking about tonight could actually win, too bad that isn't his running mate.

That's an option. Depends if the GOP takes Libertarianism seriously or not, which knowing them, they'll continue to ignore that side of the party and keep pandering to white supremacists in overt ways.

 dude between the cotton mouth and the sweating... Watching Drumpf roast him is comedic gold.

Didn't watch, didn't care. Too busy watching beisbol.

Mike Pence isn't even that popular in his home state. He was struggling for re-election before The Bigot tapped him to be his running mate.

Pence looking for that 2020 spot.

Democrats should be scared of him come 2020.

So in this scenario where Trill Hill has won she should be worried about Pence?

Is this a scenario where she's coming off the worst 4 years any President has had after being elected? Worse than *cough*Bush*cough*?

there is a winner penalty man, 4 straight democrat victories, people will get restless and want change for change sake.

if the economy stays mid, and Clinton stays upopular, they will be vulnerable in 2020.

and Pence is just the guy to take the spot.

That's one good thing Trump did this time around -- eliminated the more frail GOP candidates

Remember when Jeb was supposed to be the GOP's next beacon of hope?

Pence ain't finna do **** in 2020  ...Kaine was on attack had that boy flustered ...even Hillary did a better job of dealing with Trumps bs

historically unpopular candidate looking for a 4th straight democrat victory?

Nah. you should be afraid.

anyone other than Ted Cruz or Trump would have been a serious problem for Clinton, she got lucky pulling Trump.
She didn't get lucky. The Republican party is imploding and unraveling all at the same time.

The idea that this "Republican" base will even elect Pence is far fetched.

None of those things really matter.

This fed up voter base would sooner elect Paul Ryan.

I just can't see Pence being that guy of all the options.

Hillary will be vulnerable in 2020, no doubt. But a dude like Pence is exactly the type of person that she can beat.

He is way too socially conservative for a general, and the GOP primary base will make sure he shows is socially conservative colors.

debate was lousy. wish i watched more of the baseball game.

don't really know who won or lost, and it doesn't really matter, but Kaine needs some coaching. his constant interjections made me cringe. if he had better delivery and timing and put weight on each word, he could have dominated. pence walked into many traps and was childish at times but i didn't see Kaine capitalize like he could have.

for example, when Pence kept annoyingly taking jabs at Kaine for using rehearsed lines and talking points, then in the same breath he recites a story about the mom of a soldier who died in Iraq. ok, maybe that wasn't the best moment to attack pence, but Kaine let him throw in too many of those jabs, and talking back in the middle of Pence's time only undermined whatever Kaine was trying to say. instead you wait, then when it's your turn, you spend 10 seconds pointing out the hypocrisy, then you answer the question.

Pence took the relentless attacks pretty well, kept his composure. In all honesty I think Pence came out of the debate looking stronger, more confident and composed. Pence spewed a lot of bs I strongly disagree with but Kaine came off as nervous to me. His constant interrupting didn't really help his case either. That being said, Kaine really hammered Pence on a lot of issues, so he gets a lot of points from me there.

You can tell Kaine's a bit new to this though, no matter how much I despise Pence he looked like a seasoned veteran up there from start to finish.

I get it, but it's still ridiculous to me how people rely more on temperament than the actual stance of the two candidates.

I sat there and listened to Pence say almost nothing for a 1.5 hours. He couldn't defend much and in most cases didn't even attempt to do so. He just stuck to a few specific talking points. That and his inability to admit that there is systemic bias in the police department while at the same time saying we need huge criminal justice reform in response to the statistics proving so I just can't get past.

Kaine started out nervous. He didn't seem comfortable, and looked unsure of himself, but eventually I thought he seemed to get things together.

Pence definitely had the better temperament, but he said nothing, and when he was actually answering questions I strongly disagreed with him.

So what do we base the winner of a debate on? It seems everyone has a different standard. I thought Kaine won handily, but I see there's a large group of people who think Pence did a great job.
