I'm finna start these dreads up...

like u said..no fade, just line up....but a centimeter of fade wouldnt be bad lol....helps keep things fresh....ya know?

Yo what are those my dude? It's gonna take while to loc up looking at the texture of your hair and how long it already is. Good loc

Dreads, braids, over time do a number on your hairline and overall hair man. (Ask Wale. Happened to a few other friends that I know.) The tightness, combined with the weight of the dreads...

Not for me.

FACT. You're looking at a year and a half before you fully lox. Starting short is the way to go.

Off topic:

I'd like to know what the true definition of "finna" is. When my fiancée was working with the State Attorney a few years back, they ran into a case where finna was used completely differently 4 or 5 times. I thought it meant " going to " which was the general consensus when google'ing the term, however she informed me that it wasn't just used to replace "going to" and that's what confused her and the DA. Thoughts?

Finna = Fixing To

The may sounds rather small, but one of my biggest regrets is not growing dreads when I was younger. :smh: Im now 26 and about to finish school and enter the legal world. Established dreads would be an iffy look in court, but no way in hell would it be cool to come to work with dreads at the infant stage.

So, all you young dudes who are on the fence, do it while you can...

there is an ask a barber thread.. most hair talk went on in there but that thread died a while ago
the wave thread pops up every few months too...
ahh i see. i'll go ahead and try to find it right now, thanks for the heads up brah.

still feel like we need an official haircut thread tho.

Even though the "fixing" part implies that action taking place already, colloquially it's a near future connotation.

Like I'm laying in the bed right now. Finna get up in a minute

I got mine twisted a couple years ago but never kept them long enough for them to fully loc.

I got mine done by a project chick, she put a bead in mine on some rude boi status.

Being white sucks doe when it comes to hair type and being able to have them.

The thing about line-ups and dreads is, you have to make a decision on if you want your forehead to get a lineup, or everything else but your forehead. Depends on how you hair grows. If you can avoid getting that front line up, it'll save you from that look you're worried about.Today I might cut them man, 11 years. It takes a lot of ******g nerve. I want to cut them, I just don't know if I can cut them. They are apart of me now in a way that you cannot imagine. But all good things must come to an end........

Thank you man, that makes sense. I feel enlightened.

I don't have dreads now, used to back when I was elementary school tho.

Personally if I was to grow out my hair again, I'd still get a shape-up on my forehead. The dudes I know who had dreads, but didn't get shape-ups all have :x hairlines now. If you ever decided to cut your hair off you don't wanna end up with that Lil Durk hairline :smh:

Good luck tho fam.
