The Media, Music Industry, and Athletes have done a great job of whipping this case into a racial war. As far as it goes, Zimmerman is guilty already.
If anyone with common sense and complete objectivity would actually sit down and review the case, understand the details, and incorporate Florida law - they would see that Zimmerman has absolutely so chance of being convicted for second-degree murder. No way. It shouldn't even be a murder-case (involuntary manslaughter at best) , it's such a weak case. The media and public outcry pressured the state to charge him with second-degree murder.
The case could even easily get dismissed before the trial if a judge finds justifiable proof that it was self-defense (since Florida has very lenient self-defense laws).
This case is so weak from the prosecution's end of it and they know it. Don't make this about race, because race is the only reason why Zimmerman got convicted in the first place.

if you are the initial aggressor, you have the duty to retreat unless the other person uses deadly force when you attacked with non deadly force. Seeing that trayvon was not using deadly force, Zimmerman cannot escalate and use deadly force. Also, trayvon could use self defense if he feels he is in danger. is followed by the model penal code and is common law
So basically, you think it is ok if I follow you, start a fight with you, and then shoot you dead in "self defense"?

how did Zimmerman start the fight? he probably yelled out and asked him what he was doing. lets not assume.
this dude does not look like that hard type go to up to someone and start something with fists instead of words. Trayvon attacked him, they fought, Zimmerman was down on the ground getting his but whooped so he pulled out his gun and shot the kid.

Living in the very city this happened locals have always known it wasn't race driven. What the outrage was on was the fact that more wasn't done on the police efforts. As far as "bringing" a gun to a fist fight I guarantee Zimmerman ALWAYS carries that cause as many people do in Florida. It's your right, it's normal here.

Yup, sorry. It's not self defense if you initiate. Don't forget the kid was screaming for help while inflicting these hits. He was fighting for his life for no reason. A good lawyer could negate all that and get this piece of **** off though.

They showed bloody pics of him being taken to jail before but they were from the jail cameras not this clear. As far as am concerned you shouldn't be able to claim self defense when you instigate what took place.

At the end of the day, this case sets a terrible precedent.
If I'm walking...on the phone...with snacks...minding my business...and someone chooses to approach me because they think I look "suspicious", they shouldn't be able to approach me and justifiably kill me because I didn't approve.

Involuntary manslaughter is a crime worthy of a trial. Zimmerman was arrested and charged, not convicted. My conclusion, both of you are idiots.
