Your Next Vacation Destination.....?

In on this thread because I haven't taken a vacation in years.

Out of this list, which would y'all recommend first? I've never been to any of them, love food/music/art/fashion, etc.:

SF
LA
Boston
Chicago
Philly

SF and LA.

Thank me later.

Wait for the summer to visit Chicago.

Got back last night from my own European "boy meets world tour"
Visited Paris, Rome and Barcelona

Paris
hit the usual touristy spots ( louvre (Mona Lisa, Venus diMilo) , Norte Dame cathedral, Eiffel Tower, pont Neuf etc...)
visited jim Morrison , Edgar Allen Poe, Oscar wilde and the Rothschild family tombs in Pere Lachaise cemetery
food was meh, but would highly recommend HolyBelly in the 10th Arr
Shopped in the Le Marais and St. Germain neighborhoods. Came away with goodies from Supreme and the Goyard store
Highly recommend taking a river ride on the Siene and riding the the ferris wheel (5 min walk from the Louvre)

Rome
Visited the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, pantheon, Vatican museum (Sistine chapel) St. Peter's basilica/square, coliseum, castle de Saint Angelo etc...
Also checked out dozens of plazas, basilicas and churches
The food was amazing, highly recommend the pizza at Sapori e delizie in Monti (near the coliseum)

Barcelona
Visited and did the Camp Nou tour, basilica de sagrada familia, Gaudi park, Barceloneta beach and shopped in Las Ramblas
Also took in an authentic Flamenco show (highly recommend)
Tried some paella but it was just ok

Would rank the cities in this order Rome, Barcelona, Paris. But by no means am I devaluing Paris, but I wished I spent a day more in Barcelona as opposed to Paris
Architecture was best in Rome, simply amazing and seemingly in every corner
Getting around was easiest in Rome as everything is really central located and no more than a 30 min walk from multiple destinations
Spent a lot on Ubers in Paris as most sights are spread out a bit more but their bus system is really good
Barcelona subway system was very easy to use

More pics on my IG  lovehateself
Nice trip, very similar to the one I am trying to plan.   How much time did you spend in each location?  Did you fly from/to each location, or use trains (such as Paris to Barcelona)?

turbospartan turbospartan
Spent 3 days in Paris, 3 in Rome and 1 day in Barcelona
Flew between cities, (1:30-2 hour flights ) saves so much time and costs of flights were cheaper than the train (mind you I booked them in December)

So you booked all of the inter-Europe flights after you booked your main overseas flights (assuming you are from/in US)?

LoveHateSelf, you covered a lot of ground in Barca for 1 day

...but should've spent more time there

the only advantage of traveling within Europe is the train stations are usually in or close to the city center and airports are not...maybe if where you're traveling through is scenic that would be an advantage as well

wanted to do a train in Europe just for the experience but didn't make sense since trip would be longer and and more expensive than flying

Yeah get security. Ask where you can rent heat for your protection. Don't drink water unless it's sealed. No ice on anything.

Be prepared to see a lot of Jeep Wranglers.

I am biased but I'll say SF. The only real downfall is the hotel prices. AirBNB can help but in general, hotel prices will be the bulk of your stay here. But SF is easy to conquer in a short stay. Food wise, we got most of it covered. Art is there but it's sort of taken a step back from how it used to be. Fashion wise we have all the standard shops you can find anywhere else like Niketown, Adidas, etc. As far as streetwear, Undefeated is out here as well as The Hundreds, FTC, TRUE, Upperplayground and more. We have it all without having to experience it all in a weeks time. If you are into wine, Napa is an hour away as well as Tahoe, Yosemite and Monterrey.

Has anyone driven accross the USA?

I live near Philadelphia. I am thinking about making quick stops in certain cities to see friends (like for lunch) and others for overnight stays.

I would do Phl>WVA>Charlotte>Atlanta >Alabama >N.O.>TX>CA. I would spend a few days in Cali then drive straight to St Louis to see my sister then straight home.

Doable?

I have Cancer and want to go on an adventure

I drove from Atl - Cali a few years ago. Do it. Here is a brief write up about my journey. Cross Country trip

Personally, I haven't been to Chi City yet, so I can attest to that, but I've never heard anything bad about it.

Out of the other 4, I'd say SF > LA > Boston > Philly

I love Boston, but it's not the best place for art or fashion. Lots of great places to eat though. San Fran is just a fun town all around.

^^^Chicago is dope. I actually like it there more than NYC but I am mostly talking for travel purposes. Chicago has good food though and their sports teams are credible if you are trying to check out new stadiums and whatever. Their beer is good and the deep dish is on point. And I've been to 2nd City twice already but yet still enjoy that show a lot. If you like improve comedy, it's worth getting a ticket to go to.

SF, but I'm also biased lol. Depending on where you're coming from.. I'm assuming not from CA lol... If it's possible you could try to hit SF and LA on the same trip. Never been to Boston. Only been to Philly and Chicago for one day each, so can't really say much about either of those cities.

I'll be taking a trip from NYC to Providence, RI in a month for a few days.

Any recommendations on things to do?

Can someone tell me exactly what I need in order to travel to Cuba from the US?
I have an American Passport and know there are some requirements needed to visit

Alright, so I'm heading down to Philly with the homies this weekend

I wanna hit at least 2 food spots -- cheesesteak + Di Nic's roast pork/broccoli rabe sammie

What else should we hit up? We're down for food/fashion/art/music. Thanks fam

i was told by some old ladies that the best italian food restaurants are in rhode island and not new york so when i was there, i asked a few people where the best spot was and the majority said camilles. i had to wear a jacket to get into dinner there but it was worth it. LINK

Randomly the best Italian food I've had was in Jacksonville, FL with real mafia dudes in the cut. Forget the name of the restaurant though.
