Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain | A Hideo Kojima Game

**** man, I still need a PS4. Totally forgot about this coming out so soon.

I just went back and played MGS4 and the story is much worse than I remember.

Based on that game, no codec calls and shorter cutscenes is a plus. It's not like there's gonna be zero story looking at the trailers... it's just not going to be drawn out with 30 minutes of exposition.

truuu and kojima smokes so much damn weed his stories dont make any sense anyway but thats part of his charm. in 4 it was a little much tho. ill miss classic codec moments/those zany cutscenes etc. but im fine with creating my own ill moments in the open world setting

Yeah I have no problem at all with shorter cutscenes. MGS4's were ridiculously long. Give me the gameplay without all of the lengthy exposition.

So I heard if you extract those prisoners in ground zeroes, they'll be at Mother Base in TPP.

I could just look it up to see if it's true but I haven't. I extracted them anyway.

Not gonna lie, im pretty pissed off reading that the story takes a big back seat. That doesn't sit well with me at all. I want Meatal Gear not GTA

Im sure its still incredible. But that sucks.

Seeing Kojima's final trailer makes me sad. A man's Legacy laid bare for all of us to witness. Knowing that we may never again see this series with him at the helm. It brings a tear to my eye but at the same time makes me happy that i got to experience this series. I can't wait for Hideo's next venture. :pimp:

I haven't played the series since #2: Sons of Liberty. However, I've been thinking of picking this up. Would I be lost in the sauce trying to play this and understand what's gonig on or what?

I came in here to ask something similar as NewZ05 NewZ05

I've never played any MGS video game and I know nothing about the franchise. I've always been interested though and I was thinking of getting this game. Do I need to play any of the previous games to understand this one?

If you've never ever played a MGS or know nothing about the series you very probably shouldn't start here

After reading reviews, I just don't know[emoji]128553[/emoji]
My favorite MGS was for PS1 but Snakeater(even though that difficulty was a bish[emoji]128557[/emoji][emoji]128557[/emoji]), I still enjoyed it as well.
The lack of "story" concerns me but I guess after MGS 4, they wanted to scale back since that was just a movie with QTE and minimal gameplay.
Who am I kidding, I'll pick it up next week[emoji]128557[/emoji][emoji]128518[/emoji]
