How do some of you have DS pairs from years ago..I dont have doubles for every pair but the ones that I do I end up wearing them anyway..

Some people for some strange reason buy shoes and like to admire them instead of wearing them. But to each their own[emoji]128077[/emoji]

IMO that's the difference between a collector and a sneaker head. 1 collects and others rock. There is large 1 to rock 1 to stock crowd. I'm wearing all my joints.

I've always been the type to buy one pair and wear them.

Never doubled up on anything and don't regret it.

Once you had as many pairs as most of us have, its not like you wear the same pair every day anyways.

I have some shoes I haven't worn since last August, and others I haven't even worn yet.

No need for doubles, IMO.

Wasted money.

I fall somewhere in between. Currently have somewhere between 60-70 pairs, so nothing gets worn that much anyways, but there are a few releases I doubled up on (usually black/reds - banned 1's, bc3's, bc4's, metallic 5's, XI's). That said, I have no regrets about that. My BC3's have been worn hundreds of times in 18 months and while still in great shape will be ready for some freshness in a year or two. Since the retro cycle used to always be an average of 6 years it makes sense to get a second pair if you don't want to be paying rape prices down the road for your most-worn shoes.

This man KNOWS

Can anyone confirm that the online release will be followed by a future in store release sometime after the 6th? And if so what stores?

:rolleyes

im not sticking up for anyone, i never said the shoes were real. which is why earlier i said they arent 100% authentic. I dont know what they are but they are different

but you did say they were FAKE, which is what I was trying to figure out. I followed the BRED IV thread early on and one thing I noticed was the early releases seemed
to be just like the ones we got from Nike. Has anyone been able to identify any differences from the early release BRED IV and the ones that came out?

Not trying to say any of you guys are wrong, just want some clarification here. I actually thought Zyzz has a great point in that thread. The problem is none of us know what factories these shoes are actually coming from. If we could identify the whole process and see if the early releases are the same (same factories/workers/production) then we could call them what they are.

the shoes are different...

if they are different from what you receive from NDC or any REAL store then what does that tell you?

im 99.9% sure a pair of III's i have a early release. Everything is the same minus the elephant print, its WAYYYY bigger than any pair that released in 2011. It covers the entire freakin toe and the elephant print is way darker...

IF YOU GET YOUR PAIR FROM NIKE.COM, NIKETOWN, EASTBAY, CHAMPS, FOOTLOCKER, FINISHLINE, YOU GOOD TO GO. THAT'S WHAT I DO AND I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AUTHENTICITY AT ALL. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN STUNTING ON ANYONE WITH THEM BEFORE RELEASE DAY, HELL, I DON'T EVEN WEAR A PAIR TILL MONTHS AFTER RELEASE DAY ANYWAY.
Spoken words of wisdom.  With all the high quality fakes and all these 1:1 fakes floating around.. retail is starting to be the only way to go.. with ebay being the marketplace of fakes and some real... what some young dudes don't get is it doesn't matter if you get J's before or or even on release day... if you get them for retail... then even after 6 months or a year mission accomplished.

why get doubles and wear both. If I got doubles the second pair wont be worn until the first is run to the ground.

This. I only buy doubles of shoes that I REALLY like. Usually that shoe is worn soon after I buy it. I don't have a ridiculous amount of shoes, but I have a fair amount where I can not wear a shoe for a year or two.

After closer examination, these IIIs are definitely different from the 2011 release

-Narrower ankle cut
-slightly lower toebox
-non glossy leather
-non glossy midsole finish
-softer leather
-thinner tongue
- Nike air heeltab
- Nike insole

The main reason that the sole has Jordan is because it was Jordan Brand's way of saving money since most 3s use the exact same colored sole (every OG 3 colorway had the white/grey/fire red sole). The probably had tons left from the III, Flight 45, and Spizike releases

It depends. If its definitely a grail, there's nothing wrong with doubling up. If you don't want to keep it, it can definitely be used as trade bait.

Recently, I've been doubling up for every release but with Nikes current release schedule, starting next week with the 13s and the corny 3s (Crimson and Joker), I'm just buying one pair, maybe.

I'd like two pairs of these. I'd wear these a lot.
