Manti Te'o's Girlfriend Never Existed

Well damn, I just read all the tweets on Deadspin. Seems like it does pretty much add up to Te'o actually being catfished the way he says. This Ronaiah dude was probably fishing for an NFL player to scam on. Maybe thought if he found one dumb enough that he could get them to send some money his way? If he kept that **** going til Te'o hit the NFL he would have definitely seen some cash.

Either way, the thing that made me think so highly of Te'o was his IQ and leadership skills. If this is all true, then it seems like this dude has a brick for a brain and chills in his room by himself all day surfing the web.
 
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, in a TV interview with Katie Couric, reiterated that he briefly lied about his online girlfriend after a December phone call indicated that she may be alive, while maintaining that he had no part in creating the hoax.

Pressed by Couric to admit that he was in on the deception, Te'o said that he believed Kekua had died of cancer and that he didn't lie about it until December.

Also, a source close to Te'o gave Schaap documents that the source says are Te'o's AT&T phone records from May 11 to Sept. 12. Their veracity could not be independently confirmed, but the source insisted they are genuine.

The records show that in that four-month span -- when Te'o has said he believed Lennay Kekua to be in a Los Angeles hospital, recovering from an accident and being treated for cancer -- Te'o made and received more than 1,000 calls totaling more than 500 hours in length from the same number in the 661 area code. The 661 area code covers Lancaster, which is part of Los Angeles County. The source told Schaap that Te'o believed the 661 phone number in question was Kekua's.

Of these calls, 110 were more than 60 minutes in length, including several that were several hundred minutes long. In an ESPN interview last Friday, and in interviews with both ESPN and Sports Illustrated last fall, Te'o said he was on the phone "every single night" with a person he believed to be Kekua, often for long stretches late at night.

The fact that he's doing all these shows is proof that he was in on this lol. 3 years...... 3 years?????? You gotta be ******g kidding me.
 
I asked earlier and it's just because I haven't seen anything other than it's starting in the fall 2011 but why do people keep saying 3 years?

Suddenly, I almost understand how he got duped in the beginning. Between the fake relatives that he set up to vouch for himself, and fake weddings 'she' would be busy going to, no wonder he'd believe it was too much to be fake. I think this kid wanted to know what it was like to be one of those twitter ******, or is gay and wanted to hit on guys or wanted to troll and let it become something else.

I don't know. But someone needs to interview that guy.

Maybe... But I'd prefer we just slap him and forget about him. He's nothing more than an attention #$)*#$ and a troll.
 
If Manti is really stupid enough to fall for this hoax and really spent hours on the phone every night while being a star college football player, the real question here is:

Who the hell was doing his schoolwork for him?

  I know damb well if he's that stupid and was spending THAT much time on the phone there's no way that degree is legit.  NO F'IN WAY.
 
So he said he briefly lied, right? So when exactly did he tell his dad that the girl visited him in Hawaii? Remember, his pops was corroborating the story as well.

Nobody is this dumb. Whoever is coaching him up at CAA is doing a hell of a job. Somehow this dude Te'o is coming off looking like a sympathetic figure in all of this and we're ONLY hearing his story. Where is Roniah Tuiasopo(sp?)? Why hasn't he surfaced? Also, did the girl who had her images stolen mention anything about pressing charges?
 
Fraud or not, this dude Te'o is a straight lame. Who claims girlfriends they never met? He's either really weird or gay.

Probably both.
 
Man I still can't believe this dude T'eo. He might have been catfished but there is no ******g way he was oblivious to this for 4 years. I mean there were past stories on here where it said that multiple women posed as Lennay. Like wouldn't you be able to detect a change in the voice of someone you are in love with? Who is to say that during those 1k + phone calls he wasn't just talking to Roniah Tuiossisopo and all that stuff made up before was a huge cover to form this story and Te'o and "Rossitupio" were gay. I mean either this dude is covering something, or he is one of the dumbest dudes out there. No face time, no Skype, lying about meeting her and having your father back you up. Like damn man, did his dad believe all this bull as well. There are still way to many holes in this story, and nobody in the mainstream media wants to report it. Someone needs to interview this guy and put him on blast. And also get Roniah Tuiossisopo in the same interview as well.

One thing to remember is Te'o and Roniah were actually good friends. THe media is making it out like they were strangers and Te'o was duped by a stranger. Hell it sounds like one of his best friends, which gives more traction to the possibility of them being gay imo.

I just find it hard to believe that a dude and his friends could dedicate years of their lives to trying to catfish someone, to receive no benefit. If they were, wouldn't they have waited until Te'o got paid in the NFL so they could try and get some money from him???? None of that adds up.

Damn....every time I change my mind on what I'm on in this story something else changes. But like most people have said....nobody is THIS dumb that in this day and age you don't even Skype, FaceTime, anything with the chick over a period of 3-4 years. I mean, I could see back atleast 10-15 years ago when that type of technology didn't really exist....but come on man. Everybody has these tools nowadays and Te'o was on just about every social network available. It wasn't like he was sheltered from the damn world.
