Many people refered to the now Cherry XII's as the Rising Suns bk then, because they were red & white like the Japan flag (hence rising sun name) the grooves along the side panel symbolizes the rays of sun. So yeah 97 Rising Suns

I agree with this. I actually wore my III over 50 times before it started chipping. The retro XVI from the countdown pack was actually BETTER than the og. The og was very slippery, especially the black/red colorway. Anyone that had them could testify to this. The retro was not.

I didn't know that. I always thought that the rising sun 12's is the pure white pair with holes on the sides.Or maybe that was the inspiration on why they made those Japanese flag insoles.

AJ IX Powder/Uni blue retro- Worst quality

MS VI and Quai V are the best, the leather almost the same. even the smell is quite similar..

Orion 7 sucks..
 
Worse: I'd have to give it to the Orion 7's

Best: BIN 5's, that shoe was great. Wish I hadn't sold em.

Yea those are the new Rising Sun XII's. That was a unofficial nickname for the Wht/Red XII's back when they dropped around the way. Now ppl refer to em as Cherry 12's or whatever you wanna call em.
 
Never really had a quality issue to be honest. Maybe I just never noticed. Only one that comes to mind is the Black Cement 3s that came out in 2011. All my Js are a 6, so when I buy I don't bother deciding if I should go up or down a size. I just stick with the 6.  When I finally decided to unds them a year later they were so tight on my feet that it actually hurt my ankle.

 I compared them to my other 3s and the sh*t is cut like a 5 1/2 smh. Needless to say I don't wear them much, and if I do, I have to loosen the laces od and wear the thinnest socks ever to get some type of comfort.  That's why I was a little skeptical in ordering the NA Cement 3s in a sz 6 because of that.  I wonder if they just marked it wrong or that's how they're making 3s nowadays. *shrugs* Anyway, here's hoping they do actually release the Black Cements with the NA so I can sell these or whatever.

Other than that, never had a bad experience with my Js as far as quality wise.
 
any 06 AJ4... creased like a mfer...chipped paint after the 2nd wear....for some reason the fit was all wrong and it began hurting the pinky toe of right foot. i couldent believe i had spent 100+ on a pair of garbage quality air jordans. atleast they stepped it up a bit with the newer ones. hopefully they last longer.

The Mist IV was pretty good from that time frame. I believe the tour IV was pretty good as well.

Hmm not for me. And I wore these constantly back in 06.

Best retro quality ive personally seen were the 1999 IV and 2000 V retros by far.
Worst i have were the 2000 VI white/navys with paintchipping at the first wear, while the leather was quite good.
