The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Picked up my PS TV today. I played around with it for a little bit and so far I think it's ok.
Remote play is very meh. Not unbearable but there was a lot of lag. I was playing over wifi so that could have been the problem, but I don't want a wire running from my living room to my bed room. Why Sony doesn't allow their devices to recognize 5 GHZ Internet is beyond me.

Hopefully it's something they can fix with a patch later on but we'll see. I'm honestly more excited by the fact that I can finally play PS1 classics again. Can't wait to get back on Tekken 2 and SF Alpha 3

Yea the game's SIM like in that aspect, it's just more forgiving if you make an error and doesn't have assists or tuning options.

Some of the Hyper cars definitely need that delicate throttle control around and when coming out of corners. Especially the Hennessy Venom

Man... tempting.  If only my DFGT worked on the PS4... then I'd definitely get it.
Still No "Concrete Info" on Free Driveclub for PS Plus

Developer apologizes for keeping fans waiting; Connection problems persist during peak hours.
Evolution Studios, the developer responsible for Driveclub, has apologized to fans for the lack of information regarding the delayed PS Plus edition of the PlayStation 4 racer.

Driveclub's launch two weeks ago was marred by severe connection problems due to errors within the game's netcode, which Evolution has attempted to remedy ever since.

Prior to the release of Driveclub, Evolution and Sony had agreed to release a free abridged version of the game to PS Plus subscribers, which was scheduled to go live in early October. However, due to the online connection problems, coupled with the likelihood that a surge of new players would make matters worse, Sony decided to postpone the PS Plus edition.

It is still unclear when the PS Plus edition will be released, and on Monday, Evolution posted an apology on its Facebook page for the lack of updates on the matter.

"The PS Plus Edition news will come as soon as we have concrete info--sorry to keep you all waiting," the studio wrote.

Representatives for Evolution have since been proactive in engaging with the community, frequently updating its Facebook fan page and releasing several patches to help restore connections.

It was hoped that the latest patch, released over the weekend, would be a breakthrough for the game. But Evolution now says the outcome was not quite as successful as it hoped.

"We can see that the majority of you can now get online, but we know that at peak times of the day it can still be hard to get connected, so we are still working to improve connectivity with every update to the servers," the Sony owned studio wrote.

"We can also see that when you do get connected, some of you are having a hard time getting into multiplayer races and that posting leaderboard results can sometimes take a lot longer than you'd expect.

"These connectivity issues stem from the same unforeseen server problem that we've been working to get on top of since we launched Driveclub, and while we are getting on top of the problem now, we are still working round the clock to keep improving gameplay for you."

Critics were somewhat divided on the exclusive PS4 racer, with GameSpot's Driveclub review describing it is "not an argument for a new generation of driving, given how it fails to exceed the standards of the old one."

They have no choice but to release. The damage it will cause if they don't would be huge. They really should have had an Open beta instead of a closed one with this game.

Also, something else I stumbled on which I haven't seen before.

SE doing a publisher pack of some sorts. I definitely approve and hope others do it too.

Ps4 needs a dedicated thread like the xbox one has. I get more current gen related info from that thread than I do from this one.

No it doesn't.

Microsoft stopped supporting the 360. Sony has continued supporting the PS3 and the Vita.

If you feel the thread is too convoluted or moves to fast, unfortunately you are in the minority. Alot of us have all 3 systems and they tie together.

You could go to the hugely popular neutral gaming thread.

^same here not bashing any console or anything but I feel as if the Xbox platform consoles are only good during their specific generation. Once the next gen comes out the Xbox one will be pretty much useless....ps4 probably not

I think Microsoft has extended the life of their console just by adding the multi-media aspects. In Canada, we had a cable company offering XBox 360's as cable boxes (Telus) last gen. I still have a ton of friends who still have theirs just for the TV part. I imagine X1 will fill a similar role.

Software though, they have pretty much sent it out to the woodshed.

How much longer do you guys think Sony will support PS3 with software? I think 2015 will the last year we get big exclusives.

That's a lie. m$ still supports the 360 through deals/games with gold, they're coming out with new 360 bundles, and they've released two m$ exclusive games for the 360. Forza Horizon 2 and Fantasia Music.

m$ already stated that they'd be supporting the 360 for the next 5 years prior to the xb1 launch.

The gaming thread has a lot of useful info.

There you can be kept up on:
 • What's coming out
 • What has come out and been reviewed
 • Gaming wallpaper sites

 • Gaming trading site which has saved several nters from this thread and the xb1 thread $$$, umpire can attest to this.
This is another example of umpire being a hypocrite. He's trying to diss the gaming thread, yet he's benefited from the info in there.

Two games constitute not abandoning a console? Compare the releases on the 360 in 2014 to the releases on PS3. Tell me one isn't anemic when compared to the other.

You are arguing for the sake of post count, as you usually do.

You have a thread, that you made, to do that in. So I implore you to go there. Please.
