The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Tomorrow they're going to do the active time report for FF XV a hefty amount of new info will be given out. It starts at 8 PST and will be readily available wherever you want to watch it on YouTube or with a quick google search.

Spoilers below (I'm not 100% sure what will be discussed tomorrow)

-The Leviathan demo has been scrapped. Partly because somethings needed more polish and partly because they didn't want to give story elements away. Instead of this, a new demo has been created that is basically a playable tech demo where you will be able to basically go into a "whitebox" room and mess around with the game mechanics without having any connection to the story. Carbuncle has been included in said demo, and while I'm not a fan of the design it seems to have been getting good feedback. It looks like a cross between a cat and a gryphon and IMO resembles what the Last Guardian looks like just re-skinned to be Carbuncle. The new tech demo will launch at the same time as the March announcement.

-The March announcement will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will be open to the public. It's looking to be a big spectacle. All the corporate related tie-ins along with the mobile pinball-esque mini game and other components will be shown, and obviously the release date for later this year. I expect this to be talked about heavily tomorrow.

-I recently played a full build of XV and while it is expansive and absolutely gorgeous my non-spoiler feedback was that it was way too empty with regards of actual things to do. Don't let this get you down, as I had the same criticism against Red Dead Redemption which is a top 10 game of all-time for me. XV is MASSIVE, maybe too massive and unfocused for it's own good. There's still a lot of tweaks being made so this may be remedied at a later time.

-Be ready for LOTS of DLC.

Are we talking Final Fantasy XIII-2 type of DLC, with lots of weapons and costumes, or actual story DLC as well?

Both. Lots of cosmetic stuff but there will be story DLC for each main character of your party

Man... game and season pass are probably going to run me 129.99 Canadian. That's without getting the collectors edition.

The only DLC I bothered with was Ultros and that was based on my love for FF VI.

I can't get into this ATR. I'll just wait for the release date announcement.

Edit: HQ Version:
Im so torn with this...

On one hand it looks very good. Seamless transitions into battles, the tone looks amazing, and from the demo, the characters are interesting.

On the other hand, an action RPG isn't what I want from a FF mainline title. There is SO much going on at one time.

I'm all in, but I still have doubts.

Had the same exact thoughts while I watched.

I'm still all in though. It'll just take some time to get used to. I'm sure once we start playing we'll forget all about it.

I still haven't played bloodborne..don't think I'm mentally prepared yet lol..i ended up watching blurays that I forgot I purchased..and ended up playing drive club..it took an hour to download the updates btw..that wasn't that much fun..u kno what..it will prolly take the same amount of time for bloodborne..I have the amazon-exclusive strategy guide..I'm gonna start today..I've heard how difficult demon and dark souls was..so I guess it's time to get frustrated lol..

Drive club was cool..still at level 1..really good graphics..I'm a terrible driver

Trying not to watch but I saw a couple gifs and :wow: :wow:

I personally love this direction and I think it fits in very well with the setting. From that first trailer we saw of Noctis in Versus XIII, this definitely needs action elements with the warping and multiple weapons.

As long as they don't turn full DMC, Metal Gear Rising on us then I'm cool and that will never happen anyway.

From what I've seen of this and FFVII Re, good times awaits us.

I understand Bad Religion Bad Religion concerns but I already accepted the fact that this isn't going to be a traditional FF game. We have to remember that this started off as a spin off. I just want the content to be meaningful and not a bunch of fetch quests. The music sounds great and the visuals look good too.

What doesn't make it traditional?

The battle system. Real time vs turn based. Only being able to control one character in your party. Gameplay and everything I've seen makes me feel like this is more of a WRPG than a JRPG.
