Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Guardians had a good hold today at the box office, $11.7m. I'd say it actually has a good chance of taking the crown for Summer 2014 right now with weak competition this month (TMNT aint ****). $300m+ domestic coming up :nerd:

Who said TMNT is winning this weekend?

I said it at first but then I was told TMNT box office was only supposed to be 39M. The average first to second weekend drop in sales this summer has been in the low 60s. With a 60% drop Guardians is scheduled at 37.6M this weekend. Which is close enough for me to give the edge to Guardians. Either way it wont be the slaughtering I originally thought it was.

I think it can drop somewhere in the 55% range for the second weekend. The very early projections for tuseday is $12m, which would give it the highest tuesday number of the year so far. Really hoping this is the breakout movie of the summer everyone's been look for, coming in August of all months too. Summer 2014 has sucked numbers-wise :lol:

Peter's relationship with his dad is what the Bendis run of guardians is about. As usual with bendis, nice storytelling but he cant ever get the personalities of the characters straight.

I hope Angela and Gamora have a lesbian relationship tho.
 
Their on page dynamics just scream lesbian.

I wonder if Marvel would be ballsy enough to do a lesbian on screen relationship :wow: at least a discreet one where you know whats going on if you old enough.

That third pic is the issue where I said "Yah these girls are lesbians" I keep tweeting Bendis about it but he wont answer :lol:
 
on the BRB talk...if you watch the scene and focus on his suspected cage the whole time, he or whatever is in there turns his head right to the audience. but at that very moment the scene goes into focus on whats important thus, making the figure inside the cage blurry. i feel like this was done with such precise timing that it cant be a coincidence and that we will find out eventually.

also GOTG might have been my favorite Marvel movie to date. the soundtrack was amazing. and i literally laughed out loud at the prosthetic leg part...and again at "and were gonna need that guys eye."
 
Also before Angel I wanna Quasar, Moondragon, Adam Warlock, and Mantis. Mantis role would have to be changed since Knowhere aint the same. Also I can understand not having Mantis and Moondragon because having telepaths could be an easy cop out for any potential problem. But Quasar played by Emilia Clark and Tom Hardy as Adam Warlock please.

Yeah how easily Ronan got distracted, nearly ruined the movie for me, dude could have put up more of a fight...

No. That aint the same one. The Krylorian is not inside. If it were inside then she would be clear and collector blurry cuz the shot looks like it was taken from inside the plexiglass. It's the one who tried to steal the power gem

I meant if the one walking with the Collector, in the screenshoot from Thor 2, is the one in the glass in GotG meaning that she did something in between Thor 2 and GotG to be locked up. Nothing major, just a little detail that would've been cool and it's always nice to see consistency in the small details.
 
Ohh. Well the one in thor 2 looked exactly like the one grabbing the stone. Definitely the same actress. Didnt make out the face of the one in the plexiglass.

agreed, Winter Soldier is my favorite villain so far. Gave off that bad*** vibe
 
ok so I had a dumb moment and I actually thought the tessseract was the actual stone. I was like how is thanos gonna put a cube in the glove.
