Lebron James Is Ruining The Game For The Average Fan

**** is funny to me really, no matter what they say Lebron will go down as one of the greatest and most versatile players to play the game.

Also y'all dudes who don't "respect" Bron for the decision kill me. This is a business first and foremost so Lebron made a decision that gave him the best chance of success. What superstar didn't have other HOF'ers on his team when he won multiple rings? Ill wait. Yes it wasn't done organically but it isn't his fault his old GM/Owner couldn't bring in the necessary parts to win. We going to ignore the bum Cavs teams he carried by himself? How about his performances in elimination games last year in the playoffs? I feel for y'all who hold personal feelings towards athletes you don't know and who don't give a **** about what you think, just enjoy the game.
^^ This. Are we going to gloss over the fact that Magic had stacked Lakers teams? Bird and Thomas had stacked squads, and those championship teams that MJ had great coaching, a solid #2 and players 3-12 who had a solid role. Even Kobe da GAWD wanted a trade when he had no help and couldn't reach the playoffs. LBJ spent 7 seasons in Cleveland and the biggest free agent moves management made is an aged Shaquille O'Neal and a midseason trade for Jamison?? Playing with Ira Newble, Eric Snow, and Damon Jones is career suicide, who would subject themselves to that? On any night he is projected to give you KD scoring, Tyson rebounding, and CP3 assists at the same damn time, without playing Kobe type minutes and that isn't entertaining?

the stacked celtics team played the stacked lakers team. the stacked spurs played the stacked lakers. what stacked team is the heat going up against? if it doesn't bother you, just state it plain and simple. His business movie was to stack the deck and get easy chips. yes he is an fantastic player but it will always be a part of the story with him

I agree.

God damn it Lebron.

Stop stuffing the stat sheet. You're ruining the game of basketball.

The league should black ball him out of the NBA...

Your reaching my guy.

I like watching basketball, I'm not like you. I look at total stats after the game once I don't study them. I like energy and flash, lebron is a basic boring player to me. Yeah he's great and can fill the stat sheet but his court presence is lacking for the type of player he is. I don't think the average casual fan enjoys lebrons game. Hardcore fans that follow stats probably loves lebron. I love him for that too but his game is bland as ****.

I guess watching Kobe chuck shots and force assists so he can "prove" he's a team player is exciting?

Ok

I don't think that he has become a boring player or ruining the game or anything like that. If anything our expectations of him have just gotten higher. We expect to see him drop 25+, 8 and 8 a night with some highlight reel blocks and dunks. He's grown as a player and I feel this has made us expect just a little too much from him.

Why is the Jason Terry dunk so impressive to people? :nerd:

LeBron should be able to dunk on a 6'2 guard especially on a fast break.

Never understood why the John Lucas dunk was impressive either.

Oklahoma City had 3 of the Top 20 players in the league last June. They were favored to win the series.

I get what you're saying OP. I don't think Lebron has ruined basketball, I just think it's people expections, relying on stats heavy nowadays and the refs inability to make coherent consistent calls is what is ruining basketball.

Like I understand what you mean when you say Lebron is boring...that I won't agree with because his performances last year against Indy or his streak when he was like 50-60% in FG% or his dunks are God like and it's far from boring, but I think the word you're looking for is expected.  Lebron is expected to score 25, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.  He's expected to outshine others so as a result people look at Kobe, Melo and KD and think they are inferior.  It really is unfair that they're compared to him because clearly their games are much more different.

I will say I personally don't care for Lebron like I used to.  I was watching some streetball movie on tv the other night and they talked about Terror Squad and Team S. Carter playing for the 'chip at the Rucker during the year of the blackout. They showed footages and mentioned a young Lebron and I couldn't help but smile because that's the Lebron that I missed. It was a feel good story.  Hometown kid playing for his state's team, brringing them to dominance that they never saw before and he was more hungry, humble but still had a confidence to him.  No one could tell me anything bout Bron....even had me rooting for the Cavs at one point. Now I sometimes can't stand him.  I hate that he's even more arrogant.  I hate that he flops and complains more than ever, it's just not the same anymore.  With that said though, I respect dude.  He's the best at what he does  and the way he keeps improving his game is scary.

Off the top of my head

Pistons in playoffs
C's last year in playoffs
Game winner vs. Orlando in playoffs
Lebron w/ 52 points AND a triple double vs .the Knicks IN MSG
Dagger vs. the Thunder last year

it goes on and on.

he lost four straight afterwards though

I never once in this thread said he was ruining basketball. I said he was for the average fan. People only consider what Bron does as great. Hell people are claiming he's better then jordan cuz jordan can't pass like Bron or rebound like him. I just think exspectations for what your team leader should be is waaaaay to high now. All this you gotta make your teammates better is bologna.

from a fan standpoint he is not as fun to watch i see what op is saying.  go watch iverson, kobe, melo, lebron highlight reels.  lebrons is the least exciting and it has to do with skills.  he never developed many moves since he doesnt really need to. and he doesnt even have the balls to try dunking on big men.  his best career dunk is over a flat footed tim duncan.  kobe has atleast 3 posters on timmy d alone and they are all better than lebrons one.  **** even the best of melos posters are better than lebrons best.

these r the types of things "fans" should be discussing.  not tweets and the personal lives of people u dont even know.  lebrons *****made therefore we now have more *****made fans that can relate. simple as that.

That one game is a crucial game in the NBA Finals. If you're the greatest player in the world, I expect you to shoot than 11 times!

I don't give a damn about rebounds thats what you have Joel Anthony for!

I don't care about the career shooting percentages either. Because Lebron aint a better shooter than any of those guys.

Bernard King, Chris Mullin, Adrian Dantley and Kiki Vandeweghe all were 20 point scorers and have higher career shooting % than Lebron are they better players?

Let me get this right? you are saying Allen Iverson is a better shooter than Lebron James???? I must be arguing with a teenage girl here....

Lebron is smarter than those 3. He is a better 3 point shooter than those 3. They all are better ft shooters.... If you wanna look at something crazy, Melo, Ai, Kobe all shoot a lot of mid range jumpers...... Aside from I think dirk and one other person who had over 500 attempts, Lebron has the best midrange fg % as well......

But you guys like people like kobe that go 5/24 in a game 7 of the nba finals vs the celtics. you call that exciting. But Lebron averaged 30 8 8 or something in the finals last year, hit clutch 3 with cramps, hit fadeaway in game 2 off backboard vs thunder to beat them to win... But thats not exciting.

Im schleep tho

Just because you don't have a valid argument doesn't mean you should try to insult me. You don't think I have negative opinions about what arguing with you is like?

Anyways I wasn't the biggest Iverson fan, but as a pure shooter, yes I'm taking Iverson the shooter over Lebron the shooter. Lebron ten years in, is shooting airballs in critical moments.

 He's not smarter than Kobe:lol:

I know to people like you, think if a star player's shot attempt is about to be contested, he should always make the safe play and pass to your teammate.

Like a robot

But being smart is realize, sometimes a star player contested shot is a better option than your unskilled role players less contested shot.

Lebron is not definitely not a better 3 pointer shooter than Kobe or Melo

They are all 33 % career 3 point shooters and Lebron has been inflating his numbers the past couple of years in the Heat system. Because of all of his superstar help, none of attempts are even close to being contested anymore plus the Lebron attempts 3 pointer half as much as the Kobe or Melo. If you're really that great of a 3 point shooter shot it more....I mean after all its worth .33 more points.

And that Kobe's 2010 NBA Finals game 7 vs the Celtics. He got 15 rebounds and 23 points though which is almost 3 times more than the 8 points Lebron got in the game I mentioned.

Oh and guess what, his team won the game because he did everything in his power to will his team to a win and Lebron didn't. He froze.

Yep Lebron is exciting

Interesting thread. Op is right. IMO lebron is an average offensive player. His offense skill is rather boring to watch. The dunks are pretty average as well. The only dunk that he wowed me was the one over Damon jones. He didn't have much memorable clutch shots neither. People keep comparing him to magic and Malone as far as size and passing ability. But honestly magic passing ability is a lot better than lebron. Malone actually have a legit post up game.

LOL. Going through this thread, dont even have to look at usernames or avatars to decipher the Kobe Stans. "average offensive player"
