I'm considering it along with the D90. Still want to see reviews, I don't want the kit lens though, and on the Canon side I REALLY dontknow what would be a better alternative without having to go "L" 17-85mm... mehh, 18-200mm is probably one of Canons biggest disappointments...

I'm also going to wait for Nikon to announce something. Supposedly on April 14th they are going to announce new products.

Sanit going to Canon is just as bad as me going to Nikon. Haha!

If Nikon knows what is good for them, they better not put out anything special that exceeds the D90 yet. I hate buying products that get obsolete so fast.....

They wont, There's a big possibility that the products they are announcing are probably a new wide angle DX lens and a D40 replacement sinceits been discontinued. I'm hoping they introduce a new entry level DSLR. With the launch of the new 35mm f/1.8G I wouldnt hesitate to get a new"D40"

I would go for a D40 right now, but that camera is a bit older and should be refreshed. The ONLY reason I'm considering the T1i is cause of the video. Idon't want to go Canon at all.

NIKON! D40 with video NAO!

I would bet that it's going to be their new entry level model. It's definitely going to be DX format, unfortunately. They wouldn't be releasing newDX lenses if they weren't bringing out a new camera that's DX format--especially with the discontinuation of the D40/D40X. I'm not sure how I feelabout that seeing as I have a D40X. It's a great camera and I do well with it, but I'm ready for a full-frame model. How sweet would it be if theyadded an entry level dSLR that had a full frame sensor?!

My prediction, from a business standpoint:
At least 12MP
ISO range from >100 to +6400 (HI1)
DX lens format
Cropped sensor
Built in speedlight
Some form of an image stabilization feature
<$500 body price range
I'd like to see burst capabilities. Continuous is cool and all, but I think that'd be one feature that the consumer market and beginners would like tosee for their kids'/friends' sports games.

Is there a new 35mm?

leaning more on the EOS Rebel T1i

cuz i can save some cash

cant really find any really differences between the two besides the d90 doesnt have 1080 when shooting in video

anybody have a ink to a side by side pro and cons?

The 1080p video on the T1i is virtually useless. Unless you want to record a cinematic snail crawling on a leaf at 20fps. Canon should have justleft it at 720p @ 30fps and 24fps.

The D90 is still leaps ahead of the T1i as a Still camera. No doubt about it. It's built better, ergonomics are better, top view LCD, 4.5fps, better lowlight performance, comes with a better kit lens, Nikon CLS > Canon flash system, etc.

Go on www.dpreview.com

You can compare them and any other camera side by side there.

Haven't been in this thread for the longest time.

Just came back from vacation from the land down under and coming back to Canada was harsh. Going from 30+ degree (Celsius) weather to 4 degrees is not thatgreat. The trip I took was dope though. If I had the chance to go back to Australia, I would in a heartbeat.

Anyway, some pics for you guys:

Not quite, when you get to the lower end of the mm range every single millimeter counts, i just bought a Sigma 10-20 for my XSi and it should behere on Wednesday. With a fish eye barrel distortion is obviously done on purpose, 15mm would be a wide angle but not an ultra wide like the Canon 10-22, Sigma10-20, and Tokina 11-16. I would of bought the 11-16 but i heard that extra millimeter at the low end makes a difference. Sigma was also cheaper so i went withthat. Look up galleries for all three of those lenses on a crop sensor and you'll see that it's plenty wide on a 1.6 crop.

what am I supposed to do to achieve this effect?
google "light trails"
Tripod + decently long exposure length + vehicle coming to a stop for the last second of the exposure.

any one know wher i can see some tokina 11 16 photos taken with xsi ?
Here.

Everyone should bookmark pixel-peeper.com

I use it every time I even think about looking at buying a lens.
