I'm on both forums and i still don't get it.

I don't completely get it either. But by the same token I don't #$!% with ISS, it's just wack to me.

But what does get me is how someone can be a kid in highschool and have their own photography website where they have pricing/scheduling/contact section forsetting up shoots.

Seriously I would love to know what qualifies you to charge someone money to take their photograph (especially digital where you're a dime a dozen and itcosts you nothing to shoot).

You can't really have any real formal education in photography, you're in high school. (don't tell me high school photography classes, 9 times outof 10 that's some OD hack $@##).

I realize there are plenty of photographers with no formal training at all that probably charge outrageous rates that are "bigger fish to fry" butseriously I'm so sick of people turning what I do (both graphic design and photography) into these untrained hobbies turned businesses.

If you want to take photographs, I get it and more to the point I would encourage it. Photography is the most democratic art, is an ideal I fully believe in.But when you dumb down my formally trained craft by trying to make your hobby look like my craft by having websites where you charge for shoots you insults meat the core. I don't know maybe you just have that on your website just in case and maybe I'm getting the wrong impression and if that's the caseI'm sorry. But beyond that you're into these over processed super digitally photos I really am at a loss as to what qualifies you as someone capable ofcharging people to photograph them other than peoples own ignorance, that you're playing upon.

I'm guessing that was aimed at me?
People love my photos and would like photoshoots, so why not charge them?
It's a way to make money, and something I love, and if you love it too, then you should respect that.

AND by the way, i barely edit them.
I have the saturation set very low on my camera and color tone. All i do in lightroom is some exposure if it's underexposed. And maybe some vignetting ifit looks nice.

^I'm just going to response back to you once and you're more that welcome to reply but I don't need to argue with you cause I'm not going tochange your mind and I'm 100% certain you won't change mine.

If people love my brain surgery because of the people I've performed it on all have lived and were cured of their brain cancer or whatever, does thatqualify me to perform it professionally? I realize that's %@+@!$% ridiculous example cause I'm sure that'd be illegal as I have no medical trainingat all. But my point remains the same that I would be playing upon peoples ignorance of or understanding of the medical field wholly aside from committingmalpractice. Just like you play upon peoples ignorance of photography as professional practice when you charge people for photo shoots because your photographs"looking cool" or some !+%% along those lines. And I'm not going to sit here and claim brain surgery and photography are the same thing, butI'm sure I could use a saw or whatever and cut someone's head open and +!#* around with the contents of their brain, just like you can zoom and maybefocus (probably a lot of auto focus, but still) and press the shutter but neither makes either qualified me a brain surgeon or you a professional photographer.

Like true story, more power to you that you have hustle, but don't tell me you love something your hustling. Especially in high school, you ain'tfeeding anyone with that money. So no I don't respect that. If you get busy with a camera that's cool, there's very little I love more thanphotography. And if you got into like gallery or some show, I'd be like props, because I would assume whoever is running that is qualified to say oh thiskid is nice with the camera or what have you. But really having these photo-shoots you set up with people who just look at your photos and aren't the wiserand think their "nice" and want shoot of their own, you're playing upon peoples ignorance and selling them brain surgery that's not from abrain surgeon. And I know there are plenty of dim wit mother +%*!%%+ who buy into that !+%% all day, I know you're not the only photography who does thesame thing there are tons of these hacks that probably way worse photographs than you. So I get you're just a drop in the bucket people %+%!$%$* on what Ido. But really ultimately do you, if thats your steez by all means.

And this isn't my way of saying I'm better than you cause I have formal training, cause you could be a "better" (however ever the @#$#you'd qualify that is beyond me) photography to that means %$+* to me. But literally think about it this way, if you went to medical school to be a doctor, you study the art OD, like you look at/discuss/read about a million times more photographs than you'll ever take, like you understand practice on mentallevel how it functions and then you had just random people just popping up everywhere practicing medicine, charging people, not having done anywhere near whatyou've done to perfect your art etc. you'd be kinda upset right?

EBay, just shutup.
I like what i do, so i'll just do it.
That brain surgeon thing has no relation. Two WAY different subjects.
And you can tell that to the clubs who want me as their photog and the people who want their senior portraits.
Here's some more.

1. In thread where I've earned my stripes and respect (ask about me)
laugh.gif
you're way out line telling ME to shut up. Let alone anyone, this one of thefew threads on NT people act like adults most of the time. This is why I don't %@$@ with ISS you got kids tell people shut up. If you don't like what Isay don't read it and/or keep it movin'. I didn't ask you to read $**+, you just got bent and having nothing to say back but "shut up".

2. Fall back Mr. "All do I is simulate a stretched tonal ranges and flatten color because my digital camera lacks the range of film and in poor andmisguided effort to get that I basically just force contrast to get "interesting" photographs and half the time when I do have middle tones I OD andmuddy photographs".

3. Lastly, do you. I don't give a $**+ what you do. I just think it's ridiculous, you didn't have to get bent about it. But since you did, don't even ask for critique here. Cause 99% of them in here are from me, so I don't really know who else you're asking/expecting to get one from.Forreal you probably ultimately better off taking you "infocus" (auto focus makes that easy) photographs back to ISS to chill with the kiddies whoprobably just like you hustle morons into paying for their photography.

(Dunkrnice) This is why I hate ISS. You see some kid doing some !!# backwards $**+ and you question him on it and he gets butt hurt.

Damn, these pics are all so clear. Can you make pictures that crisp using any regular digital camera? Or do I have to go buy a D300 or something?
