Maybe you can help me. Do you know of anywhere where I can find a Digital Rebel XT kit for cheap?
Sheeeeet. You know I put on for my city.

Try Dodds. Sometimes they have good deals and they haggle. I got my D60 for $600 with a tripod and 2gb SD card.

. Two questions. What camera did you use? Can you you recommend me a camera? Ima newbie, preferrably something good and cheap.

as important as cameras are, the quality of the lenses make more of a difference imo. when putting together your system if i was on a budget i'd rathertake a step down on the camera so I can spend that little bit towards getting a good lens.

^lol i was emphasizing the fact that you dont need expensive equipment to take nice pics. one of my close friends uses an xti and takes some of the nicest picsof anyone i know. at the end of the day though i am very aware of how entry-level my camera is.

But its all good Im a n00b

I'm struggling to decide whether to make the jump to full frame right now. I want to get a Canon 5D and EF 85mm f/1.2 so bad but I feel compelled to pickupthe EF 24-70mm f/2.8 just so I have a walkaround lens to go with the body. Decisions, decision...

Anyone on here have a 5D and can convince me to make the full-frame jump?

Is this a good deal all used ..

Canon XSi w/ 18=55mm IS lense $550
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom $400
Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Telephoto Lens $200

Or everything for $1000 bucks ..

I been looking hard and I really have no Idea to what I'm buying or if I need it

BTW, is from a dude I met in a photograph forum that's upgrading to something professional .. works in ads in NYC .. so he said is well taken care off!

^ I think that's a pretty good deal. I was about pickup the 17-40 but I went with the 17-55 f/2.8 IS for low light photography.

with the 5D Mark II on the horizon the og 5D's price in the used market is gonna drop so I think you chose the right time to desire a 5D

^ You are talking lingo to me man .. I dont even know exactly what any of those are used for with what type of lighting ... I just dont want to go overboardbuying some stuff I will never use or need at this point .. I just want to take quality pics and I want a good camera and a good course to attend at thispoint!

Do some research before spending $1000 on that stuff. And by research, I don't mean ask NT.

What do you have now? What are you going to be shooting? How often do you shoot? Are you looking to just to some casual shooting or get into seriousphotography?

http://dpreview.com/ is a great site for reviews and information.

If you're just starting, don't throw money into something you don't know how to use. Start small, and build your way up.

I started with an XT and a kit lens...then got the 50mm 1.8...then the 28-105MM usm 3.5...now I've got a 40D on the way.
