i had wanted to get one of these ever since i started film, but have managed to forget about it thankfully. my photographer's budget will not allow me topurchase this, but my curiosity and imagination want it. edward green adelaid shoes on sale, or this? must...resist...

O l i v e r - i have seen many different creative fireworks pictures, andyours belong in that category. well done!

What's a good camera for amateurs?

That takes good quality pics like some seen in this thread?

Can anyone recommend me a camera.

I don't know what a dslr is, so i guess i'd want a point and shoot. Price doesn't really matter as long as it isn't $450+.

Not sure what kind of photography i'd like to do, just something that takes crisp, clean pictures with decent detail.

I just want something simple to start.

haven't posted here in like 100pages

I'd like to thank kdwallace and rapsizzle for their advice on taking indoor pics, these aren't a great shot but i'm getting better at the indoor thing

Yessir. I'm waiting to see what Nikon and Canon have in line for the Digital Rebel series at PMA in March, I will hold off my DSLR purchasetill then.

I was thinking of doin the same thing, I was gonna upgrade and buy the D90 and get rid of D40. But when I saw the G10 and I've wanting a P&S for awhile...so I might do that. But I dont think I can roll with out a DSLR. I feel like I need to have both for some reason.

I thought I would be taking a million and one pictures when I got home with the little princess but, that was far from the truth!!! I barely got any sleep lastnight and I haven't picked up the camera once after taking the memory card out. I want to shot but it's just not happening ...

Here are a few pictures before the long hours began .. I just snapped some in ICU before she got better and the others while rushing out the hospital beforenight fall and possible snow storms ...

how do you get your colors so nice. the third and fourth pictures particularly. i really like the look to those. a bit grungy, and muted, yet very rich indetail. i just began shooting with a 5d...and am pretty happy with the colors...so i hope i can learn more.

Yo my man what do you do to afford these devices?

I need to know.

And would you be willing to sell the 5dii?

My-T.

Im wanting to get into photography and I'm considering a Nikon D40 or D60, can anyone give me feedback on either of these two cameras, thanks.

Haha. There are lot of dude worse than me. The guy I got my 5D from has a 1Ds Mark III, 5D Mark II and a 40D along with a bunch of L lenses.

I won't be getting it for about another week or two but I'm getting rid of most of my lower end gear. Out goes my XT and 40D. I'll be left with the1D Mark III as my primary, 5D as my backup, 24-70L as my walkaround and 24L, 50L, 85L as my primes. That's it. Not that much compared to how many lenses Ihave right now.

You can't go wrong with that camera. The LX3 is an absolute beast. Other cameras you may want to consider in that category are the Canon G10,Ricoh GR Digital II, and Ricoh Caplio GX200. All good cameras.
